A Crack In The Shell

She found the various Jedi Temples to be very weird. That was probably because she wasn't used to living in a place like this at all. Veronika felt very out of place here amongst the other Force Users whom walked these halls. It wasn't that she was trying to be unfriendly it was just that she didn't understand much or any of the lingo they used. The young woman had asked once but instead of receiving an answer had been laughed at. She doubted that they meant anything by it but all the same Veronika felt it best to save her herself such embarrassment again. It was best to focus on her studies and do her best. If she could prove herself to her own Master or one of the others perhaps she could go on one a mission. It would be nice to get out of the stuffy temple every once in awhile.

When she didn't have her nose in a book or in a training room Veronika enjoyed going outside to the gardens. She found it was the closest thing that she was going to find here to the forest. The gardens were a small comfort to the home that she longed for and missed. She missed hunting and all the little creatures that called the forest their home. Things had changed though and she had to leave not only for herself but for the betterment of the galaxy. She couldn't let what happened to her loved ones happen to anyone else's family.

Flipping the history book closed Veronika sighed and stood up from her desk. She had been staring at the thing for what seemed like forever. It was time for a break and by the looks of it was a beautiful day outside. She had a few hours before her group training so she decided to head outside to the gardens. They were always beautifully kept and she could get lost out here for hours amongst the different plants and little trees. If she closed her eyes it was almost like she was at home.

Tiland bent lower to the ground, studying the leaves of plant in front of him. It was off, but just a little bit. The leaves were a touch withered. He held one finger out over and stretched out with the Force, giving it a boost of health and well-being. The little plant perked up and Tiland leaned back to rest on his knees, brushing some dirt from his hands as he surveyed his garden plot. It was flourishing here where he could care for it and exercise some control over the climate. of course, some of his herbs were too delicate and had little greenhouses all to themselves. He smiled. This was good. It was where he belonged, fingers deep in the living dirt and bringing forth life.

It was such a tragedy that his people had rejected such a life. Yes, Anzat was not the most agriculturally suited planet in the galaxy, but with the vast majority of the population being Force sensitive, it would not be difficult to harness that and create a flourishing world. The time required would be enormous, of course, but since their life-span was over a thousand galactic standard years, it's not like it they lacked the time for it. No, they had been consumed by their dark passions and obsessions as it drove them mad and to destroy each other.

He sensed a presence, not far away, someone young and Force sensitive. One of the newer apprentices, perhaps? He stood, stretching out his stiff back, and reached out with the Force to find who it might be. He sent a small telepathic nudge that way, as an invitation, if so desired, to come this way. It was pleasant to talk to the apprentices, so young and full of life, oftentimes full of a thirst for adventure. It almost made him feel young again. But it would depend if the person accepted the invitation.
