A Duel with a Friend.

Alexandra yawned and rested with her legs draped to either side of the tree that she rested on, eyes closed and hands placed behind her head. She was not in the normal robes that most saw her in for the most part of wanting to simply relax in comfortable clothing that she can just simply lay back in. She made no effort to apply her illusions either, the dark black hair she now had dangling freely as the wind pushed on it.

The day was a good day, with not a cloud in sight and clear blue skies reaching out around the tree that stood on the top of the temple. The wind light and gentle as it moved over the ground and through the trees.

Alexandra had a feeling that this would not continue for too long though, not really knowing why this was the case.

As the girl rested, she would feel a very familiar presence nearby, one now untainted by his mistakes, and instead forged anew from them. "Hey, you." Smiling a little, Gherron leaned on the tree next to his friend, examining her closely. The last time they'd met, it was under weird circumstances. He was almost in every aspect a different person, and she was elbow-deep in mud looking for relics or something. It was a strange sight to see her in a younger body, and he couldn't remember if she'd explained just how that happened. Either way, things were better now, for both of them it seemed. As for her age, he had to admit that for her being his mother figure, it was pretty awkward now.

Alexandra blinked as she had not noticed Gherron's arrival until his voice appeared out of nowhere. In truth, she almost fell from her spot at first upon hearing his voice and had to look around to be sure what she heard was correct before finding him now against the tree below her. The sight of the man made her smile and leaned back again on the branch, enjoying how it felt to be so close to her masterpiece.

"Hey back. What do I owe the honor of seeing you again Gherron? Id have thought you would be out making a new name for yourself?" She inquired, interested in why her old friend was here once more and a bit of concern showing. It was rare for people to see her these days unless they needed help or had nowhere to go. He felt relaxed, though, so she didn't worry too much with that in her mind. It helped her that she was so close to the tree she had tied her very force presence too, acting as a beacon of light and calmness for her.

She did think back on him though, forgetting when she had first met the man but remembering how big of a change it was back then. She was sure that most found the change she had experienced odd, something she could blame on the other two minds in her head that changed how she acted from time to time. Her mind had always been a struggling one but now it was finally clear in that she could keep herself in control most of the time, meaning she was someone who could afford to be happy and excitable rather than the calm woman that used to need to keep her emotions in check.

It also helped that she didn't have students she needed to impress around all the time now.

Gherron would chuckle at the comment on the 'soul searching' phase he'd been on before. It was good to hear his old friend's voice again, that was for sure. "I... came to my senses. As a matter of fact, I went ahead and got myself married finally. A shame you weren't there, really." He realized a calm settling over him the closer he got to Alexandra and her tree. He could stand there all day long, basking in the combined presence of the two. "Oh, check it out." Pulling his sword from its sheath, he offered her the hilt, watching as the black blade shimmered in the sunlight, the azure gem on the pommel reflecting faintly. He remembered her respect for weaponry, and wanted her opinion. "I call it Alnox. A friend helped me with the imbuing and forgery of it. The crystal has an... interesting property to it that helps protect from the cold."

She listened to her friend, looking down at him with a happy and utterly relaxed smile, one she knew would be as weird as ever considering the woman she likely still was in her friend's memory. She enjoyed her new life, learning from the force that suffering was a part of life and that dwelling on it would only hurt her rather than help her. This fact was why she felt so comfortable with the light side and so connected to it now, and why she looked the way she did with a truly happy expression on her face. It didn't hurt that she was beside her greatest creation as well as in front of one of the three people who still considered her a friend.

"Married? Well, now that is something. I do hope that she is pretty and kind to you. Otherwise, it might force me to become a Sith again if not." She joked as she rolled and let her body fall to the ground, landing with her legs buckling under her, leaving her crouched down for a moment before rising to stand up and look at him.

"Though, id have to say its about time, you are looking old enough to be a parent by this point. As for this blade of yours..." That got her interested, having been pouring through research in the creation of her blade. She was an odd one when it came to examples of her ideas, wishing she could get her hands on a Talisman of Concentration but knowing those are far out of her reach. This blade though had similar properties to what she wanted, and it would certainly fit what she was looking to create.

Her hands touched the hilt first, and her grin grew wider as Hel was silenced in her head immediately. Alexandra would inspect this without the spirit's annoyances on her mind, wanting to study the blade in a minute or two that she could. "Interesting. It is weighted well, though I can tell this was created with alchemical means... not even going to question that or how you have twisted it to give off this aura that it does." Her finger ran across the blade's edge, not so much as flinching when she found her finger sliced open like it had been butter to the blade's edge. "Excellent work on the edge, a fact I can't help but admire." Her hand closed, a faint light appearing in her hand but dying just as fast, sealing the cut she had created.

With those observations out of the way she found her eyes drawn to the crystal now, looking at it closely before turning the hilt back to him. "Far from the process I have been looking into, but certainly interesting. I am curious as to how you created an alchemical blade through light side means, a process that rather confuses me but I am sure was altogether safe. It is something I would not want to face in combat, though..." She found a bit of a glint in her eye as she looked at the blade again.

Gherron smiled at Alex's reaction to him being married, and nodded in kind. "Don't worry, she's the one, i'm sure of it." He even smirked to her snide remark about being a parent. In fact, he was. However, with all he'd been through, his son's force sensitivity did not sit well with him. It could very well make his life hell in the future. "I do have a son, as a matter of fact", he stated as she surveyed his blade. "His name's Articus." He watched his friend pore over the weapon intently, stating her curiosities about it and her aversion to seeing it in battle. It was in fact a good blade, one that in its short time had already gotten him through more than a few scrapes. A sly grin would play on his face as he took it back. "Would you care to go a few rounds? It's been a while since our last duel, and you'd get to see what Alnox is made of."

Her eyes visibly brightened at both the mention of a son but also the chance to finally get her bladework back up and running. She almost wanted to contain herself but her words left her before she could so much as hesitate.

"A son, well now that is news Gherron. I do hope he doesn't become scruffy and unkempt like you, otherwise the galaxy might not be able to correct itself... as for that offer of yours, you know how to make a girl's heart sing my old friend." Her smile returned with her eyes as she laughed a bit and whistled to a familiar silver shape, Daeda running off to get her something to work with. Her eyes never left Gherron though as she smiled at her friend. In truth she was excited for the man, knowing what having a child felt like and in that moment her smile faltered before returning.

She let out a breath and looked off to the side, hiding the far side of her face and letting it drop while she waited for her sabers to be brought to her. She missed them but it was out of her place to worry about that now, for this moment she had Gherron to focus on. Not old regrets.
