A fallen city and new relationships

Miss Blonde

Trying to be straight in a crooked Galaxy
Oberon
Time: 0100 hours
Location: Summer's love former capital city.

When the primeval came through and sacked the planet of Oberon nearly no one was spared by their zealous wrath. Death, destruction, and mayhem all caused for the soul purpose of revenge from a single man. As the city burned over time the fires cooled only for any survivors of the brutal attack to be taken by the events of the Netherworld never to be seen again. The city remained abandoned for the following years, a million souls simply gone as nature began to take the city back. However where tragedy struck capitalism thrived, Spaarti Creations seeing the abandoned city acquired it for themselves, rather than building a new facility just repurpose it to hold the a relatively small amount of cloning cylinders within its walls. Now home for two million clones still in the growing phase the city was absolutely quiet only for the roving patrols of Spaarti clone troopers ensuring that their brothers and sisters were being kept safe from harm.

This was where a meeting would be taking place between the CEO of Spaarti Creations and a specific cyborg lizard that was making his rounds in the galaxy and was looking to become legit. So Patricia knowing that he could probably never afford a legion within his lifetime offered to sit down with the man and talk about how they could make this work. So far off in the distance of the city of Summer's Love lay the old sacked palace that once governed the whole planet, where the Felicia the Queen of Oberon took her last breaths. It was almost ironic that a new kind of Queen took her place, but not of one by birth. But one who had fought to earn where she was now.

Patricia Susan Garter, CEO of Reclaimer Arms & Industrial as well as Spaarti Creations sat outside of her palace by the landing pad where she could normally be seen when a guest was on their way. She always wanted to greet them in person despite what risks there might be, it showed strength, courage, and a willingness to do business. So as the woman sat there on a bench in the shade she looked up at the warm Suns of Oberon and smiled. It was one in the morning but on this world it only got dark once a year during the lunar eclipse. So out in the world of eternal sunshine she simply played with her phone and awaited the man.

Orange LEDs blinked to life, and a screen blazed to life in front of the Trandoshan's eyes. Kralossk had been sleeping on the shuttle, and now his metal body clanged to life as they approached their destination. Smoothly, he rose from his chair, his frame barely making a noise. As they went to land, he didn't grab on to the safety holds, his massive legs keeping him balanced. Normally, he would bring a weapon, but he figured it best not to for a business meeting.

His HUD adjusted to the sunlight as the shuttle door opened, and he quickly stepped out. Kralossk noticed the petite woman on the landing pad, and began walking towards her. Large metal boots clanged on the landing pad, and Kralossk extended a hand.

"Ms. Garter, I assume?"

In high heels Patricia was a good five foot two. Out of heels she wasn't even hitting five feet. The small petite blonde was naturally four foot eleven and luckily today she had decided to forgo the sneakers for a pair of bright red heels that matched her near skin tight red dress. Not that it mattered, the armored and mechanical lizard in front of him was six foot eight by the looks of him, almost two feet taller than herself. But she was used to such things, it was her curse and her gift, a real double edged blade. So with one hand she adjusted her hair pulling a few strands out of her angelic blue eyes before reaching her hand forward for a quick yet strongly professional shake, and with a sweet and Colgate white smile she greeted her guest.

"Kralossk, I hope I'm pronouncing that correctly." She did of course.

Truth was she had worked with many Trandoshans in the past. Hell she practically owned the Trandoshan run black market on Yuuzhan'tar, and those guys didn't mess around. But with all her experience in working with his species she had learned two cardinal rules about them. The first being never ever EVER look like food to them, exhibiting weakness was a good way to get yourself eaten by Trandoshans. Number two was never under any circumstance bring up their life score or insult it in any way, it was a great way to get talked to death or be murdered. So without doing either of those things she held a firm posture, quickly let go of his hand, took a data pad from her assistant, and stepped along side of him.

"Welcome to Oberon, we don't get a lot of visitors. If you'll come with me we can proceed into the palace, gets warmer out this time around." She said trying not to mention the twin Suns above their heads.

Large wooden doors ahead of them opened as two clone troopers stood post outside waiting for the lizard to take the first step in coming inside the massive palace.

"Lead the way." Kralossk's harsh metal voice said. The girl had gotten his name right, that was a start. He followed slowly behind her, his feet making a clomp sound with every step. As they entered the building, Kralossk eyed the guards. Rather professional. Looked well trained and well built. Yes, Kralossk had a good feeling this would help him tremendously. While he wouldn't earn any points from his Goddess for making business deals, only a squad of these clones could help him obtain more Jagganath points than his simply reptilian brain could even dream of. Not that he dreamed anymore, everything was a robotic nightmare.

"Your men seem well trained, I can already tell. But do they have to gut to do what has to be done? No doubt you probably inhibit them from doing anything too atrocious, but the great Goddess is not as kind as you might think. When it gets down to it, they can't be soldiers and expect to win, they have to be survivors."

Patricia took in what the robo lizard was laying down and understood what he was saying, in war ugly things had to be done. It was just the nature of the beast, and well that was why she always had an ace up her sleeve when it came to these sorts of things. However she could not willingly give that ace over to the lizard she had just met, trust and understanding had to be exchanged first and that wasn't something that just happened overnight. But Patricia would still emphasize the necessity of the inhibitor chips and how they functioned for the clones.

"While I completely understand that war and battle can be ugly the inhibitor chips installed on these clones are much more complex than those of old" Patricia said as the two entered the palace.

Beautiful stone walls with vibrant green vines sprouting vibrant pink flowers that covered them soon engulfed the two's visuals along the sides as they stepped deeper into the halls. Guards posted along side snapped to attention as their mother and creator walked past them, accompanied by her esteemed guest. As the two continued to walk at the end of the hall lay another door that would take them to another room no doubt.

"Inhibitor chips work as so. There is a custom chip inside their heads with a program that allows the shooting of civilians, however that is in self defense if their lives are threatened. But say you have rounded up a group of innocents who simply are just existing. If ordered to fire upon them they won't, the chip will not allow that. However there is a key phrase that allows these chips to be switched off, and what that phrase is. Well that's the million credit question now isn't it?" she said with a slight giggle as they neared the end of the hall and paused before the large wooden door.

"We'll be having our talk in the garden, beautiful in there. If there's anything I can get you please let me know." Patricia said with a smile.

As they walked through the palace, Kralossk didn't take notice of the beauty of the place. His simple, warrior mind had no taste for such things. The Trandoshan simply wanted to do business. While a normal being might have nodded as Patricia spoke, letting her know she had been heard, his body remained still, and if he still had a face, it wouldn't have lifted a muscle in reaction to her words.

"If you insist we speak around flowers, that is fine. My true intent on being here is not to discuss morality, however. We both have services to offer the other. You have soldiers, and I have the knowledge to train those soldiers, lead them, and protect you and your business. This is what I offer you, only in return for your sponsorship." With a mighty metal hand, Kralossk held open the door for the woman from the inside. Even with him in her path, he was tall enough that she would be able to slide past him rather easily. If she would pass, his artificial eyes would blankly stare down at her.

Patricia raised an eyebrow at the lizards last comment about how he could "train" her soldiers. She knew her men were trained and even some of them even had combat experience, but of course they were always open to be given training. But what the lizard was offering was good, and he seemed like a capable warrior. That was important to her, and she couldn't just be giving her children away to some hack. So perhaps a test was in order, however that could wait. For now they had to settle on the brass tax of business first.

"Thank you." Patricia said as she stepped into the garden.

The sheer indescribable beauty of the room upon entering would be utterly wasted on the trandoshan. Flowers blooming on a planet that was forever spring and summer, trees that reached as high as the ceiling holding song birds that sang soft but sweet melodies, everything was utterly perfect and gorgeous. And in the center was a large cast iron meeting table with multiple chairs around it that could hold a various amount of races. Walking over to the table the tiny blonde sat down and waited for her guest to take his own seat.

"I thought you might feel more at home here, going to your home planet it reminds me of hunting festivals there and on Yuuzhan'tar. Have you ever been to Yuuzhan'tar?" she asked nicely

Kralossk followed the small woman over to the table, sitting down across from her. The seat moaned slightly under his weight, but held solid. He didn't even bother to look around at the scenery, instead staring directly at Patricia.

"I have not been to Yuuzhan'tar. To visit the birthplace of the enemy would anger the Great Goddess. This place looks nothing like Trandosha." Kralossk shrugged slightly. It was clear he wanted nothing more than to get to business. Kralossk would stare at her across the table, waiting for her to speak.

Like talking to a brick wall. She thought and quickly decided that this person was not one that fooled around and that he might abuse or even kill the clones for failing a job or letting him down. He was kind of giving off a megatron vibe and Patricia didn't like it, so before going through with this deal she had to make sure the two of them were deadly clear to each other how this relationship was going to work. So Patricia leaned forward and her expression changed to that of a steely business woman who had decided to forgo the formalities that she was putting down earlier.

"Here's how things are going to work if I endorse you. You are not going to kill a single one of my children, they will be as loyal as possible to you and you will never have to fear treachery from them. I don't mind you slapping a few around to get them on point, but if you so much as ever abuse one badly I will send my armies against you. I will find you, and I will watch as they gun you down." She said precisely to the lizard.

"Now if those terms are acceptable then we are golden. You can do whatever side jobs you want with the clones, and I'll even front the money for your own PMC. But I get an exclusive contract and first dibs on jobs." Patricia said hoping her terms would be fair to the robo lizard.

With a stone, or metal, rather, cold stare Kralossk admired the spark the woman was showing him. She clearly had a strong sense of morals even though she didn't follow the Goddess, but he found himself more than willing to make a deal with her. After she was done speaking, he let what she had said sit for a few seconds. Kralossk never had an intention to kill the soldiers, but he'd expect them to do their jobs. For their sake, as well as the Trandoshan's. Kralossk shot her a quick nod, unofficially agreeing to her deal.

"That sounds fair. Spaarti will always have the pick of the litter." Kralossk stood, holding out one of his large hands to her.

"You may be small, but you have the strength of a Trandoshan. The Great Goddess will give you many points, Patricia Garter."

"May the goddess grant you many points as well." Patricia said with a firm and business like smile.

"Since terms are agreeable we have ourselves a deal. You can take command of one of our companies and we'll see how that goes. I'll get a work for hire contract ready and you can sign away." Patricia snapped her fingers and soon a clone dressed in their signature Olympian battle armor came out holding a data pad that was quickly given to Patricia.

The woman grabbed the pad and began to roam through various files so she could find the right one. Pulling up the work for hire contract Patricia just had to rearrange a few words. A lot of I the blank hereby agree to go into employment of Spaarti blah blah blah, I will be in charge of this and that, very basic and standard and when they got the PMC up and running she could upgrade the contract instantly.

"Just need you to sign. Don't worry about scratching there's a ton in the back." she said as she adjusted the pad to a touch screen mode and slid it over to the lizard to E sign the bottom line.

Kralossk's massive hand gently took the datapad. He was indeed worried about scratching it. Even before his...accident, he'd had trouble with touchscreens, and the last thing he wanted to do was literally break their contract the moment he got it. But, her words eased his nerves slightly. With a sound like fingernails on a chalkboard, he dragged his index finger across the screen. While it left a rather ugly signature on the screen, it also left a massive scratch along where he had move his finger.

"Uhm...here you are...Ms. Garter..." For their first time in their meeting, Kralossk seemed uncomfortable.

"Shall...ahem...shall we discuss a name?"
