A Familiar Blonde Girl

Rodia. It was certainly one humid planet. There weren't too many reasons behind why Paega had chosen to visit the particular planet all the way out in the Outer Rim. She had simply wanted to take a break, get away from the political tensions in the Core worlds, and just visit a planet she had never been to before.

Despite the fact that the city was protected by a bubble dome, it was still remarkably humid and hot as the blonde woman stepped out of the starship along with dozens of other travelers, out into the bright sunlight. She cursed under her breath as a group of ill-mannered Rodians brushed past her. Paega had only brought a small backpack with her, bringing with her everything she owned, which was relatively little. Her lightsaber, some clothes, food, and a small amount of credits. "Now what?" she asked herself, as she watched the urban populace busily moving around her.

She literally had no plans for what she wanted to do here. Off in the distance, she saw casinos and bars, perhaps somewhere she could go if she had nothing else to do. But for the moment, as she leaned against a nearby wall, Paega was content to simply watch and wait for something interesting to happen.

Sure, Bright Star didn't have a place on Rodia, and well, Bright Star also didn't have an exclusive contract for Token to be... y'know, dancing and slinging drinks. She really only was stuck with that company because Sindy had worked for Marek in the past, and well, it just fit. Token found work and she enjoyed it. Was fun to do, really. She had been on this world for the heat.

And really, that was about it. There were a bunch of better worlds, with scenary, but she kind of ran out of fuel and was taking a job to fill her tank.

She had the money, but after burning through her ample trust fund pretty quickly, she wanted to slow down and figured working for some of her things was a nice idea. And really, this was a fun little place to sit around. But even Token was getting antsy. Maybe it was time she did something with herself?

Probably.

"A glass of lemonade, please." Paega said as she walked into a nearby cantina. She had grown thirsty within fifteen minutes of landing in Rodia, and decided she would buy herself a quick drink before doing anything else. The cool air of the cantina was a nice change from the harsh sunlight and heat, and the blonde woman gratefully sat herself down at the bar, waiting for her drink.

As her drink arrived, Paega clumsily looked through her bag, not sure how much credit she had. Finding a few credits, she paid for her drink, and sipped on the lemonade. As her eyes adjusted to the dim light of the cantina she observed the people inside the cantina. There were maybe half a dozen Rodians, some humans, and a few Zeltron girls who had struck up a conversation with the Rodians. Nothing really stood out to be interesting or worth paying attention to. That irritated Paega, she wanted something to happen to replace her boredom.

The blonde didn't do much with the Force, but she was still able to feel it sometimes. Like when a friend was nearby. And that was what happened. She was off serving drinks and flirting with what she was told was a rich man, but who really wasn't, still, he was tipping so she didn't mind, when she knew she felt something familiar. Smiling, but a little waveringly, she was still carrying on as the man grabbed her rear. That happened a lot, and Token was really not one to be bothered by the attention. Giving him a wink and walking away with the empty tray, her hips swaying a bit, she looked at the bar.

Who was it?

There! She saw [member="Paega Anginous"]. Smiling to herself, she walked up behind the other blonde, the one who was a Sith, but not... crazy. "So, how much do you want me to buy you a drink?" She whispered, a giggle errupting. Yeah, she was no good at the flirting, even when playfully delivering creepy pick up lines.

Plus, well, in cut off denim, military boots and a tanktop, she really wasn't all that much to write home about right now.

A familiar voice that came out of seemingly nowhere made Paega whirl around, trying to locate the source of the voice. Upon turning around to see who was behind her, Paega's eyes met that of a girl she had ran into, from what seemed forever ago. It was Token, that girl Paega had met back when the Sith Empire was still around. That was quite some time ago. Something told the blonde knight that this wasn't the first time they had bumped into each other, and it made Paega feel guilty that she had not kept her promise to Token about training her.

"Huh? Oh hey..." Paega said, laughing softly along with Token. "It's you." she stated, looking Token up and down. "I haven't seen you since... feth, I have no idea on when was the last time I saw you." she remarked, simply happy to have run into someone she considered a friend, out here in the middle of nowhere. "You work here?" Something also told her that Token probably had not been training much in the Force.

Perhaps Paega could change that.

Time was funny. It took so little to meet people and so long to see them again. Maybe a bit of fate. Or the Force. Or something. Token was not going to debate semantics. She smiled at [member="Paega Anginous"] and continued the laugh. Maybe just an awkward second too long. This was Token we were dealing with.

"Its been a whIle. Galaxy has changed a lot." As it was known to do. But that was what made life fun, right? Of course. "For now. Until I can get myself off world. Been... working odd jobs and traveling a lot." Maybe too much.

"The Galaxy has definitely changed a lot. And it's been changing too quickly for me to keep up with it, to be honest." Paega remarked with a grin. She listened to Token speak, about how she was working to get herself off world. The blonde woman only offered a smirk in response, then went on to finish her lemonade before making a reply.

"Well how about you take rest of today off of work, and maybe we can take a walk, or go on a picnic, or whatever." she suggested. "You must be tired of having to keep all those men company." Paega remarked. The blonde did not have a whole lot of outside information on Rodia, but she was sure that there must be something for them to do for fun here.

Things really were going so fast in this galaxy. It was hard to keep up. Not that Token needed to. Her work was simple. Keep employed and have fun. Real simple. "What have you been up to?"

And that was when the suggestion came in. This place payed well but for what she dealt with? Not well enough. "I could do that. You'll have to pay for food though. "The blonde winked and nodfed. "And I've worked on places where they expected a lot morefrom me. This is tame." She made her way to the register to cash out before coming back.

"Ready?"

"What have you been up to?" The blonde woman shrugged. "Not much, really. Just traveling the Galaxy, kinda like you. Going and seeing places. Trying not to get entangled so much in Galaxy-wide events, you know. It's been a while since I have associated myself with the Sith. So really, you could say I decided to go rogue."

Paega smirked when told she'll have to pay for food and such. "Fair enough." she replied with a grin. After Token returned from the register, she led the other woman out into the busy Rodian street. "So you want to go for a picnic? Visit the casinos maybe? Or just walk? It's entirely up to you."

She smiled and gave [member="Paega Anginous"]. When states changed things were always different. And Token knew that from experience. The Confederacy changed, Sindy found work on the Fringe and that meant Token was somewhere between a dying government and the Fringe. "Sometimes a change is good!" Of course, that all depends.

Following after the other, Token in her typically friendly demeanor linked arms with Paega. They knew each other. "Either sounds fun, though air conditioning might be a bit more friendly." Was this world always so hot?

"Casino it is, then!" she said with a grin at [member="Token Waters"]. Paega led Token through the crowded streets, soon ariving at the entrance of some local casino. Paega felt glad, it seemed that her trip to Rodia would be more entertaining than she had anticipated.

Arms still linked, the pair would make their way inside the air-conditioned casino. Excited voices filled the place, and a crowd of onlookers gave a delighted cheer as a sabacc game came to a dramatic end. "You feeling lucky today?" Paega asked casually, using her free hand to look for some spare changes in her pocket. "I've got a few credits that we could gamble with."

Token wasn’t too upset anytime things changed. It was fun. And finding a new place to go? Taking a new path? That was what was important! Getting where someone was going was what the world was all about, and finding out how to get there? That was the big trick.

When they entered the casino, she looked around smiling. “I hope so.” She giggled at [member="Paega Anginous"]. Lucky? Token did some table games, and a few card games, just enough to make some money off of it. Imagine if she could influence people with more than just her demeanor and looks?

“I can put some credits down too!” Of course.
