A Few Words

Cedric had never set foot upon Coruscant before.

The city world was as it had been described to him, though it was far larger than one could ever truly put into words. He watched the massive skyscrapers fly by as his vessel made a line for the Jedi Temple. The city reminded him of Ession, of a time when his homeworld had thrived. If all went according to plan, then perhaps it could again.

The shuttle was quiet as it settled upon the landing pad. A contingent of security forces walked out to greet him, along with a man adorned in more traditional Jedi robes. The youth did not hesitate to depart the vehicle. He met them out on the pad, arms folding about his chest as the group halted before him.

"Cedric Grayson?" The elder Jedi asked.

"That would be me. I won't be long, I just came to meet with someone." He gestured back toward his ship, "It's open if you want to check."

The guardsmen did not hesitate to do just that. Cedric met their actions with a shrug. "Can I proceed?"

"Of course. This temple is open to any Jedi."

"I'm not a part of your order."

"One could say that no one is part of any order as of late. Enjoy your stay, Grayson."

Cedric stepped forward, paused, and turned back around. "I'm here to speak with [member="Ryan Korr"], can you direct me to him?"

The Jedi smiled. "Master Korr is within. I will send a message letting him know you're coming."

Cedric gave the man a grateful nod, and turned to stride into the temple. Hopefully Korr was in a good mood, though past experience with the man told Cedric that a 'good mood' would ride more along the lines of somber brooding.

Even still, he could at least work with brooding.

Inside the ziggurat lay the reconstructed Room of a Thousand Fountains, an immense greenhouse where many Jedi went to find solace amid nature - something hard to do on Coruscant.

Korr sat on a stone bench, garbed in simple Jedi robes of earthen hues. He rose as he saw [member="Cedric Grayson"] approach, a smile creasing his lips. People like Grayson brought him hope. People who had strayed, yet found the courage to own up to their faults and resume the path of the light.

Everyone failed or fell at some point, but not everyone could get up and keep going.

"Grayson," Ryan said in his clipped and brisk Coruscanti accent, "Good to see you again. I hear you're looking for me."

Korr was a welcome face in a sea of strangers. His advice had helped to set Cedric back upon the right path; saved him from the damnation of his father's decisions. It was only natural that the knight seek him out before anyone else given the circumstances. "You heard right," Cedric's smiled reached his eyes. "You know I wouldn't come all the way back to the core just to catch up. Too much going on, that being said," the knight met the master's eyes. "It's good to see you well. More Jedi fall by the day lately. It's hard not to worry about old friends."

The knight's gaze shifted around the Room of a Thousand Fountains, taking in every inch of the breathtaking scenery. It was Cedric's first time setting foot into the Jedi Temple on Coruscant; he was pleased to find that the tales of its majesty had not been exaggerated.

"I'll be brief," his gaze returned to Ryan. "The Sith are moving on my homeworld, and I can't sit here waiting for them to get there. I've already assembled the beginnings of a rebellion. Starchaser is with me on this," he paused, "We have plenty of volunteers, but almost no Jedi. I thought you might have a bit of interest in the cause, given everything that's happened. The alliance needs something to keep the pressure off long enough that it can get on its feet again. That's where we come in."

A very pointed pitch.

"I came to you because I only know of a handful of men that have what it takes to pull this off. You're one of them."
