A fork in the road

Zeradias Mant

Democracy Dies in Darkness
So I'm at a fork in the road. I'm creating a new character, but there's two similar yet totally different routes I want to take him on.

Here are the two scenarios. Please tell me which sounds more interesting to you, which seems more practical, plausible, etc.

  1. Born into the Mandalorian clans, <insert character name here> has had the traditional Mando upbringing, transforming him into a hardened warrior. As his training advances and his skillset grows, so does his curiosity. When <insert character name here> begins to question the Mandalorian way of life and what seemed to be indirect forced conformity, he is sternly reprimanded. As he continued to ask, he continued to be reprimanded, thus brewing a malcontent for what he was being brought into. Soon after, his questioning became open disdain, which was dealt with swiftly and harshly. This caused him to snap, effectively radicalizing <insert character name here> against what he believed to be oppressive regimes. He left the True Mandalorians and was labeled dar'manda. Having nothing to his name and nowhere to go, <insert character name here> traveled to the one place where there was no shortage of anything - Coruscant. Here, he realizes that the issue of oppressive governments is not isolated to the Mandalorians. In the Coruscant underworld, he meets a young Sith assassin working for the One Sith who harbors the same sentiments. They then venture into the galaxy to create a clan of their own - one which strives for a galaxy of peace, unity, and eternal brotherhood in which all the peoples of the galaxy could face the struggles of life as one.
  2. <insert character name here> is a Clawdite assassin turned bounty hunter, frequently contracted by the One Sith. On a deep cover mission, <insert character name here> infiltrates the Mandalorian clans where he is adopted by Clan Whatever. After several missions and whatnot, he establishes a rapport and becomes attached with his Mandalorian vod. In a rare moment of openness, <insert character name here> confesses his story to his best friend, who chooses vod over him. <insert character name here> is narrowly escapes being run out of the clans and returns to being a bitter bounty hunter who begins to develop extreme ideologies, believing it was the Mandalorian's way of life that coerced his best friend to choose them over him (he sees this as betrayal). Intolerant of his failure and a blown operation, <insert character name here> is blacklisted by the One Sith. So he finds himself in a bar in the Coruscant underworld where he meets an old contact, a Sith assassin. They discover to share mutual disdain for big government, which they believe is inherently oppressive. They then venture into the galaxy to create a clan of their own - one which strives for a galaxy of peace, unity, and eternal brotherhood in which all the peoples of the galaxy could face the struggles of life as one.

On the surface they seem like the same exact character minus option 2 being a Shape Shifting alien species. Which in my opinion considering the number of Shido (sp?) we had floating around at one point seems over used.

Basically it seems like you want to create a Death Watch Mando operating in One Sith space. The Sith Assassin side-kick is easier said than done but not impossible. This being the case option 1 is probably the easiest and most believable way to do it.
