A Good Day's Rest

[member="Vaylin"]
There was a feeling of lightness in the Echani's stomach as her amber eyes aimed outwards towards the starry night, her mind wandering wildly as she stared blankly into the sky. Jorryn was dressed in a fine black dress, an extravagant outfit even for someone as fashion conscious as herself.

She wanted to dress nice for tonight.

It had been far too long since the Inquisitor and her significant other had been able to have a proper date with one another, not counting times that the couple simply just seen each other. Jorryn wanted to do something nice for her girlfriend, especially since it was usually Vay that planned for the events that the two did together. The Echani admittedly did love it when her partner took control of everything, but it was about time for Jorryn to repay everything that Vaylin put into their relationship.

And that is how the silver-haired Sith found herself here, at a Galidraani mansion that she had recently requisitioned, waiting at a candle-lit table set for two on the moonlight balcony.

Unfortunately the Inquisitor was completely inept when it came to cooking and serving a home meal, so she did bring along a few servants to deal with all the hassle. They were used to serving Galidraan's finest and so here they were, ready to wait on the couple hand and foot so they could enjoy a proper night together.

"Everything is set for you, ma'am." A polite young Echani man bowed towards her, pulling her attention but not her gaze. "We are ready to welcome Lady Moirai when she arrives."

And so the Echani would sit and wait for her girl.

Her girlfriend's message had come as a surprise to Vaylin, a pleasant surprise, but one all the same. Ever since they had started dating, the Zabrak had always been the most initiative of the two. The one who would randomly pop up in Jorryn's office to drag her away from responsibility and do something else. Part of that was to get away from the paperwork, something Vaylin found dreadfully boring to watch, let alone actually do.

Which the Zabrak was fairly familiar with, given her role as Commander of the Crimson Valkyrie.

More often than not, it was Vaylin sending Jorryn messages about wanting to this or that. And of course, those moments became very few and far between as their respective jobs kept them apart. But it seemed their recent experience on Orinackra had ignited that fire and the Echani had taken the initiative this time.

Not that Vaylin was going to complain. As much as she liked being the one leading the charge, it was always enjoyable when Jor took the reins instead.

There was a genuine sense of excitement from not knowing what she was heading towards. Obviously she knew it wasn't anything bad, the invite to dinner and to 'dress nicely' was clear as day. And yet Vaylin couldn't help have that emotion welling deep within. It made her happy.

She was disturbed from her thoughts by the speeder cab finally arriving at its destination. Vaylin couldn't help but look out the window towards the mansion before her. She was most definitely not expecting that.

Vaylin was dressed in a dark red dress, her hair had been stylized by someone obviously not the Zabrak. Sure, she could take care of her own hair, put it in some simple styles, but if Vaylin was going to impress, she wasn't going to cut any corners.

Her approach to the entrance was met by a single servant.

"Welcome, Lady Moirai. I shall take you to where Lady Fordyce is awaiting." She didn't hesitate to follow right behind the white haired servant as they led the way.

"Lady Moira, My Lady."

Jorryn's head was turned away from the stars before the sentence even finished, looking away from a set of lights to just the one. [member="Vaylin"] had dressed the finest that the Echani had ever seen her, hair pinned up delicately and a beautiful red dress accentuating where it needed too. Jorryn couldn't tell if her blushing was from hoping that her sense of fashion had rubbed off, or if it was just the sight of how gorgeous her girlfriend was.

"Hey Vay..." The words came out a bit faulty, the Inquisitor clearly a bit caught up.

Another few trains of thought came clearly across her face, but never found their way to her lips as her eyes stayed transfixed for a good moment before she finally shut her mouth and pointed to the other seat through her red face. One of her servants already had the chair politely pulled out for the Valkyries, gloved hands holding the back of the fine wooden chair.

"You look... really good babe..." Her words continuing to trail off as she couldn't help but check out her companion one more time. "Would you take offence if I asked who put you together like this?"

A small giggle came from her lips as she leaned in, a playful tone as she stared into Vaylin's amber eyes. Something the stars couldn't distract her from.

Oh, there was no way Vaylin could hide the teasing grin that appeared in response to Jorryn's reaction. The Zabrak wasn't exactly an expert when it came to the height of fashion, much preferring function and comfort. But if there was one person she'd go all out for, it was going to be her girlfriend.

That, and it was absolutely adorable just how red the Echani's face had become.

She didn't need to read minds to know what had crossed Jorryn's. Vaylin simply raised a knowing eyebrow, before moving to take a seat. She thanked the servant quietly, before settling down at the table.

The compliment got the Zabrak blushing, but managed to return it. "You look fantastic yourself, as always." She couldn't help but chuckle at Jorryn's question. "Oh you know, a certain someone's influence might've rubbed off on me." Vaylin's amber eyes locked onto Jorryn's in that moment. "That in addition to having Aria Vale as your Master. Years ago she had drilled in the importance of fashion, but it had never really convinced me."

Until now.

"The hair though? Was a stroke of luck honestly. Turns out one of the Valkyrie Instructors is quite the stylist." Which that statement in itself was quite hilarious. You just wouldn't imagine a fierce warrior, a harbinger of death to the Empire's enemies, would know how to style hair. Force knows Vaylin didn't. Remembering back when Aria had first taken her from Dxun, and having to deal with the wild mess her hair had become over the years trapped there.
