Jaxton Ravos

Mindwalker of the Outer Rim
With all the shuffling and bustling of the universe, what with the Sith-Republic treaty recently being signed, the Osarian System being destroyed, and the various different fallouts of those events one would think that the Ex-Gravball player Ex-Jedi Master Jaxton Ravos would be out and about, running around like a chicken with his head cut off. Most days you'd be right, and the problems of the inner of the galaxy weren't lost on Jaxton, but today was a day he'd deal with his own issues, or rather his own joys. Today he'd try to teach his little changeling girl to speak.

It might have still been a bit dark, dew still wet on the grass on the planet of Teth, but Jaxton had gotten an early start to the day, waking up early and pushing himself through a workout before he went to the girl's room to wake her up. Overtime she had been more accepting of ideas such as clothing, and had even made progress in sleeping on a bed instead of curling into a ball on the ground, but everyday was different, and he supposed any number of surprises could be waiting for him inside.

The Zeltron made his way into the girl's room, slowly and quietly and activated the rooms lights. "Hey girl, it's time to wake up." He spoke softly to the girl as he moved over to the girl's dresser and prepared a change of clothes for the day.

Daux was still asleep when Jaxton entered, although Thurion's bed lay empty as he had already left to begin his training with his new Master. That left the little girl blissfully unaware and alone within the room, murmuring as she slept. Although she wasn't actually in the bed when he entered. Most days she would have been, but today she had actually fallen out of bed and was curled up, shivering on the floor. This had occurred prior to Thurion leaving that morning, of course - he would never have let his Kitty lie like that.

WHen she was woken up by a familiar voice she whimpered and yawned and opened her eyes, rubbing at them in a very human-manner, as opposed to her old animalistic one. But the moment she moved it was clear that she was just as wild as ever; hair was tangled, despite everyone's best attempts at keeping it neat, she crawled across to him as opposed to walking, and when she did reach him she nuzzled up against his leg in greeting, with a tiny "Jaa" the only word to leave her. Despite him always being around her it was always satisfying when he appeared in the morning, quenching one of her two morning fears - that she had lost Jaxton or that she had lost her Furry. Both were the most important parts of her life.

She did not take note of what he was doing, or that he was preparing the dreaded clothes that she usually took off where possible. She'd gotten better at it, of course, and even now she had a nightgown on, but she avoided it at all cost without annoying whoever had dressed her - she couldn't do it herself, she could only help the process.

The girl awoke, muttering out an attempt at his name, still not complete. He knew who he was, and what he was to her, but he still needed to help get her along in her speech. "Jaxton" He said softly, nudging her towards another attempt at his name as he took the clothes he prepared and helped the girl out of her clothes and into the new clean ones, asking her to punch through the holes and get everything where it should be.

Once that process was done, after the normal difficulties that @[member="Daux"] had with clothing in general, Jaxton wrapped his arms around the girl, clutching her tightly and raising her into the air, tossing her strongly but gently and catching her as she returned to his arms. If she wasn't awake yet, well, that would help. "Today we're gonna help you learn to talk more." He said, before getting her down to the ground and taking a hand, his grip firm, supportive, and caring.

"You know, I suppose with you learning how to talk we'll have to give you a name. How do you like Sasha?"

She continued to rub up against him, purring loudly to show him how much he meant to her, to show how grateful she was that he was still alive. "Jaaaa" she said, her brows knotting into a frown, shaking her head as it nuzzled against his leg, before purring a low "Jaa-un!" in her attempts to mimic the noises he made. When he began to remove the nightgown as per usual she was joyous to be relieved of the heavy clothes which did nothing more, in her eyes, than burden her. But when he tried to put new clothes on her she resisted, growling loudly at him, her head down to the ground. Daux made it very difficult to get the job done, but in the end, as ever, she was dressed and settled up in his arms.

A moment later she was thrown into the air, enticing a very child-like squeal of joy, one of the few reactions she had which seemed human. More noises came from her blue-furred friend, as she lifted a hand up to settle it upon his fur for a moment, for comfort. That is, until he settled her back to the ground, resulting in a tiny little giggle with the drop-rate tickling her tummy. She was uneasy on her feet, and used both hands to grip at Jaxton's single, colossal one. But she did not fight it for once, his attempts at having her upright - Furry had been teaching her how to walk. Albeit very slowly.

Leaning into her guardian the child tipped her head up, legs going weak as she became somewhat disorientated for a moment, dizzy so to speak. "Jaa-un!" she declared again, settling her head against his leg as she attempted to remain upright, not really understanding his words, just grateful that he was there. "Taa-oo!" she squealed with another little giggle.

Jaxton continued on, walking forward as @[member="Daux"] leaned on his leg, and used another of her small hands to grab his larger one. She tried to mouth his more complex words. She didn't get them, but she was trying. She certainly wasn't fighting him about it like she did with putting on clothes. Always a plus, and Jaxton was patient. She didn't need to get all of the foundations of galactic basic today, as long as progress was being made she was happy.

"Good." He said with a smile as he took his free hand and ruffled her hair. It wasn't as shiny or well kept as you'd expect a girl her ages hair to be, but that didn't really bother him. In fact, as of now it sort of reassured him. It was his girl's hair. In fact, this was a good opportunity.

"Hair." He said, and gave hers another affectionate ruffle. "Hair." He said, and stroked his beard, before kneeling down. He took it slowly as he went down, sure to keep her supported as he went down. There would no stumbling or tripping girls on his watch. Finally, as he got down to his knees he took one of her hands, and slowly ran it over the top of his head. "Hair." He said, before releasing her hand, letting her try to speak, and explore and associate.

While the jolt had woken her up a few tiny yawns left the little girl who remained clutching at her guardian's hand, leant against his leg. When he began to move she squealed and gripped all the more, lifting her head and haphazardly attempting to move forwards alongside Jaxton. Her movements were slow, drawn out and for the most part lacking balance, but the very fact that she was willing to try, that she put one foot infront of the other and moved at all, was a massive achievement.

Her head leant into his hand as she nuzzled up against it, doing her best to remain in place without falling as she did so. A strain had appeared upon her face, the weight of her body pressing down on legs which had rarely been used in such a way proving cumbersome and tiring for the child, yet a determination shined through also. She wanted to please her Jaxton.

When he said a weird noise and ruffled the top of her head the frown upon her lips deepened, and when he then crouched down and said the same word she wrapped an arm around his arm and kept herself in place, refusing to fall. Yet despite her inability to walk, talk or generally fit in with society Daux was not lacking in intelligence and quite quickly she realised that the noise he was making was repetitive; he was trying to have her make the same noise too. "Aer!" she declared, keeping her hand in place upon his head then settling it down against his beard; Daux always preferred Jaxton's beard, it was like nothing she had ever known before.

Jaxton watched as @[member="Daux"] struggled to keep herself balanced, but ultimately kept her frame as Jaxton supported her. Though it took her a while before she spoke, he could see the cogs turning, the clock ticking as her mind put the pieces together, figured out was he was doing, and began to move her voice in a funny little way to try to emulate the sound he had made in his speech. She finally pushed out a word, whiffing on the 'h' but managing a word that rhymed, before moving her hand down to his beard. She'd always liked his beard for some reason.

"Good" He said, with a smile, letting her know he was happy and proud. He began to stand slowly, giving his hand to hers to latch onto as he rose. This was a day to learn, but they had things to do, places to go. Once the girl was ready and stable they moved on, Jaxton stopping a moment to pick up a backpack and latch it on his shoulders with his free hand. They continued out of the enclave, into the wilderness of Teth. It was a foresty environment, not as overbearing as Endor, but it would have it's similarities, and the girl would enjoy it.

"Let's play." He said, and slowly let go of her hand, letting her take the lead.

Daux clutched at him more so when he began to rise up, whimpering a little despite his encouragement. It was difficult for her to remain standing, especially when it meant moving aswell, and she stared up at him with a tiny little "Jaa", lip trembling slightly. She wanted to crawl again, it was so much easier for her to do so, it was far less painful too. But she also knew that she had to learn, and in truth she wanted to, so she clutched at his hand with both of hers and tried to walk after him, albeit slowly and stumbling. Daux wanted nothing more than to please him and Furry.

She found herself leaning into him, head nuzzling against his leg as they left the bedroom and the Enclave itself. The urge to pounce around the grass became almost too much for her, and were it not for the guiding hand which held her own she likely would have done, but Jax held her strong until they were far from the enclave and nature surrounded them. She breathed in, cherishing all of the scents, until Jaxton made a noise and let go of her hand. Was he letting her explore? Daux was not sure but she slipped down to her hands and knees right away and began to run through the undergrowth, stopping to roll around. Her clothes became muddy and slightly torn but Daux was extremely happy and overjoyed.

After a moment she realised Jaxton was watching her and stopped, padding softly across to him and rubbing up against his ankles with a purr. Why were they here?

Jaxton watched as she stormed off, with the energy of a pent-up little kid waiting to open her presents. Granted, in a way, that's what this was, as she was a little kid and being out of the enclave and in nature was probably one the best gifts he could give the girl for the day. In any case, it was fascinating to watch. It was so obvious how better acclimated she was to this world, this life than she was the typical town, city, or Silent Conclave.

She noticed that he was just kinda watching her after a moment, and rubbed his ankles again in that cat-like way that she was so keen on doing. He smiles, and crouched to the ground. He wiped a bit of the mud off of her face and clothes and silently wondered to himself if he could fuse the small tears together by holding them together and burning them with the edge of his lightsaber. After half a second of wondering he decided that was something to try later, and definitely not while his not-basic fluent girl was wearing it.

"Mud" he said, and ran his fingers through he wet dirt encased in his hand, making a small ball before he looked up at the girl. With a mischievous grin he flicked his hand forward and launched the mud at the girl, and began to run away from her. He wondered what some of the members of the Jedi Order would think of him if they saw him now. Battlemaster tough guy Jaxton Ravos was just chilling on some world in the middle of nowhere, flinging mudballs around with a little girl. His little girl.

The little girl continued to rub up against him while he pondered, the purring intensifying before a tiny little growling murmur left her. Sometimes Daux wished she had a special way of communicating, because Jax and Furry often misunderstood what she was doing, but how else could she let them know? Nudging his leg with her forehead she softly peered up at him, reaching up for the beard she so dearly loved with her muddy hands. "Jaa-un" she murmured, before squealing in delight, a very human giggle leaving her a moment later. It felt so good to be back outside, with nature all around; it reminded her of the land of furry things and silver men where Jax had first found her.

He began rubbing the dirt off her clothes, and that made her frown. If she had it her way she wouldn't even be wearing them but she knew it meant a lot to Jax that she did. It didn't make sense to her, they were itchy and uncomfortable. With a slight pout she attempted to nip at his hand before she heard him make a noise. It was odd, and this time she didn't repeat. Watching him run his fingers through the dirt she grew confused, especially when he began to compact some within his hand. "Jaa?" She said, almost questioningly - which in truth would be a huge progression for the girl who could not speak.

And then SPLAT! She found herself covered in mud, a low, menacing growl left her as she lowered her head to glare at Jaxton who had begun to run away... But not before she noticed the grin. Was this a game? Daux liked games! But missing the mud part she decided to simply chase after him, yet when that failed as the man was much faster she shed her skin and within an instance she was in the form of a larger Daux cat, rushing on through the forest to try and pounce upon him. Of course, she would never harm her Jax.

As Jax ran for a little while he didn't feel the splat of a mudball at his back and began to grow a little concerned that she didn't get the memo. He lessened his pace and turned his back to find the girl had transformed, something he supposed he should have suspected. He didn't know why he he ever thought he'd go a day without her ruining a pair of clothes.

Figuring she'd probably try to pounce on him whenever she got close enough he focused his mind on the Force, and his ears on her step. Slowing down a bit and baiting her into a pounce, he grabbed her in the Force the moment he heard her feet leave the ground, aiding her jump to go over his head and into his arms. He was a fairly weak telekinetic all things considered, but he could still pull this trick off, at least until she broke 100 pounds or so.

He wondered if the Jedi would consider it irresponsible to use the Force to play with and impress a child. Perhaps it was. In any case, he didn't mind, didn't care. Squeezing her tight as she landed he nuzzled her before coming back and lightening his grip.

"Jaxton." He said, and motioned to himself, waiting a moment to let it sink in before speaking again.

"Kida." He said, and squeezed her again, as he took a hand and ruffled her hair. "Keee-da." He said it slower, sounding it out and breaking it into parts. Hopefully it'd be simpler than figuring the 'xt' of his name, letters and sounds that had given her trouble.

She immediately propelled herself forward through the grass and leapt up to his body, trying to pounce upon him and knock him to the ground. Instead of managing this, however, she instead found herself snagged from the air and brought into his arms. She nuzzled down into his chest wih a tender “Jaaa” and a giggle, before hearing him try to reassert his name. “Jaa-tun!” she said, but the word was still wrong and what’s more it was clear she didn’t like how it was spoken.

When he said another, new word, an squeezed her afterward she blinked and looked up. “Keee” she said, before giggling a little “daaa!” wondering what he meant by it. “Oo Kee-daaa?” But a moment later she brushed it off and once again began to squeel a “Jaa-tun!” the word slowly becoming more normal for her.
