Arcenon, Residential District
Military transport vehicles lined the streets of the Residential District's lower level, dozens of soldiers taking up positions with weapons trained on a local cantina. Above, dropships and other fighters patrolled the skies, searching along the corridors of each building to find a suitable location to breach one of the adjacent spacescrapers. A warning rung out through the streets, ordering the civilian populace back into their homes or suffer the consequences for defying the might of the Eternal Empire's military force. Many of the civilians ignored the orders to some extent, watching the growing commotion. It wasn't every day a hostage situation took place in the heart of the Eternal Empire, let alone one orchestrated by a band of bounty hunters in search of a Jedi Knight.
Having chased Ryv Karis from Panatha to Kalidan, the bounty hunter Ervus Gernit wanted to close out this job and get back home to Nar Shaddaa for a night of merriment. Unfortunately, his mark proved far more resourceful than the Bounty Hunter's guild claimed. Had their intel been correct, Ervus would've bagged the young kiffar back in Lorvian City. The claims of Ryv being a simple padawan among the Jedi Order proved untrue, given he not only escaped Panatha, but he also destroyed the Bounty Hunter's ship in the battle. That alone was enough reason for Ervus Gernit to violently rip the Jedi's head off and mount it as a trophy if he managed to get his hands on the padawan. The bounty put up by the Sith Empire for 250,000 credits wasn't going to pay for the ship, so the job became more of a vendetta than one of professional standing. Its why the bounty hunter called in a group of somewhat trusted associates among his circle and now held the occupants of the local drinking spot at blaster-point.
The bounty hunters demanded the Jedi Knight come out of hiding and turn himself over, or be held accountable for the deaths of so many innocents. That alone drove Ryv to the scene of the encounter, though he remained atop a nearby structure, electrobinoculars trained on the growing chaos. Rumors reached the public about a half-hour into the tense engagement that the rebellious daughter of one of the cities nobles decided this night of all nights would be the perfect time to take a trip down into the civilian district. Ryv reasoned it had something to do with the immense military presence for such an insignificant scenario. Classism ran rampant in the Eternal Empire. The death of a young noble didn't bode well for anyone, Ryv included.
Unsure of what to do, the Jedi Knight waited silently. None of the civilians were in direct danger, as the first execution wouldn't take place for another fifty-two minutes. He needed to make a plan before anything, considering he didn't want to get tossed into another imperial prison or handed off to the bounty hunter.
"This sucks."
