A little heat is good for ya.

Dressed in a simple jacket with no shirt, pants, and boots, I walked the surface of the volcanic planet loving the hunt that I was going on. Hunting a Fire serpent would be suicide from only one apprentice ranked force user. Instead I hunted the Bugdillo. Now they were harder to find since the Gulag Plague. Even now, their onyx colored shells could be useful. maybe for decoration for now, but maybe I could do something with them.

Taking my vibrosword out of the head of one of them, I picked up the first one that I planned on using for something. The vibro blade was slightly covered in the blood of the little beasts. While most hunters used spears for these crustaceans. I used a combination of vibrosword and lightsaber. Hunting was good for me. It allowed me to release myself from the normal days of my looking for a job and a place to be. Placing the black body into the box that was attached to the Silk-6 speeder, Empty to only be filled with the collection of Bugdillos that I would hopefully collect.

I vaulted my right leg over the speeder and started the engine. Now off to the next area where I could hunt some more. I had thought about my Dark Jedi Master. He had just vanished into air after aging hundreds of years as I helped him to his bed. Telling me that everything would be alright. His covers and clothes then slowly fell down as his body became a ghost to me. Shaking my head as I pulled revved the throttle. I shot off into the volcanic wasteland where I could find my destiny.

Standing upon one of many ashy rocks that inhabited this planet, I looked down into a valley of fire and heat, watching the black and white smoke struggle to dominate one another. I was not familiar with this planet but rumours were abound that some creature called a Bugdillo stalked these lands and though they were not much of a challenge to a Sith, I found myself quite intrigued to explore both this planet and hunt something for sport. Also, I heard the pink meat inside, protected by their blackened shells, was a tasty treat. So any signs of hunger would be expelled by feasting upon these creatures.

My eyes diverted from the scene below as I felt a tremor in the Force. I snapped my head to the left then to the right. I was well aware that I would not be alone on such an escapade but the greatest threat to a Sith was another Sith, and since my time at the Temple I created several rivals that wished me dead; but the cowards were slow to react showing me their weakness instead. I leaped off the rock landing on the hard surface just in time to awaken several of these Bugdillos.

Use my Sith lightning, I fried the little critters knowing my skill was at least potent enough to wipe them out. I crouched down next to the dead creatures, scooping them up into my satchel then turned toward a whirring noise coming from over the horizon. If this was a rival come to extinguish my light, then they were failing at all attempts to surprise me.

I unclasped my lightsaber hilt from my belt of bones but chose not to ignite it yet. I was curious to who my visitor might be. Using the Force to enhance my speed, I charged toward the sound on a path to intercept rather than to engage. My Father, the exile, had taught me to observe first, kill later.

I halted my hunt, crouching yet again on another ash covered stone, my eyes tracking what appeared to be a speeder. I stretched my mind through the Force and what I felt from that presence on the speeder bike was unfamiliar to me. So it was not a rival but whomever it was, it was blessed by the nature of the Dark Side. I stood up, gripping my hilt tight in my left hand, as the bike approached me. Two scenarios played in my mind as I waited.

Either he would be an ally or friend, if a concept held true amongst the Sith. Or he would be another potential rival, which meant one of us might die on this forsaken planet.

The speeder was publicly available to anyone. And even more so when its just sitting on a planet to be stolen by me. Not much could be done to the guy though. I had a higher power working through me as I remember using my powers over the mind to make him hand me the keys and the information to hand the bike over to me. It was rather small for some of the other speeders that I have seen. And even so, could only hold very little. I shook my head as I could feel something stretching out in my mind. Trying to feel who I was.

Sith. I knew by the darkness that was within this person. Even as they felt me, I severed the tie by closing the walls on my mind. I knew exactly where they were now. Going towards them. I drove with one hand, and the second hand reaching for my lightsaber. Though it was not ignited. I didn't want to fight someone if there was a chance that we could help one another out. I didn't look like a Sith. Most SIth that I had seen in my early days with the Military had red or even yellow eyes. Unnatural to the human or a similar race. But with my eyes green, and a rather tan look to my body. I took no part in the Sith. I only used the same powers that they had.

Slowing my speeder down. I came to and edge where what seemed to be a forest of large rocks ended my path. Ontop of one of these rocks. Sat a woman. From the distance of 5 meters I could see she was holding a cylinder that was rather long yet to short to be a sword. It was some lightsaber hilt I knew that. Looking up to her from my seat on the bike, I slowly got off. Holding my own saber in my right hand ready should she attack me.

"First person I have seen in a few days." It was true. Out here you can go days, months, even years without seeing another person. Or a sentient for that reason. I took a few steps forwards. My head turned slightly to the side as I spoke in a question, "Yet you are here alone with what looks to be no food, supplies, or gear other than the revealing clothes and a saber?" I slightly questioned her and why she was here. Yet I had a feeling that we would not fight. "You need any help?" As I was more of a Sith than the Jedi or Grey Jedi that I knew, I was kind to others rather than harsh for the most part.

My red eyes gazed down at the man while he disembarked from the speeder, his weapon in his hand, and wondered which scenario we would dance to. But to my surprise, he spoke to me as though the sight of me was welcoming. He was right, he was the first person I had come across since my expedition kicked off a few weeks back, but I would not give in to easily. I knew, just as I assumed he did, that treachery was the Sith way. He may speak with a friendly tone now and the next moment our blades could be locked as we find ourselves engaged in a battle of survival. However, I would not treat him as a hostile until I knew his true intentions; so I remained standing on the stone.

My fist tighten around my hilt when I spied him taking a few steps toward me, then when he spoke, he spoke about supplies, food, my apparel, and wondered if I required help. I laughed slightly not to offend or provoke him. I clipped my hilt to my bone belt and waved away his words as if they were nothing but troublesome insects.

"Help....now what sort of Sith would I be if I claimed or begged or pleaded for help? A weak and worthless Sith that others would flock to cull from the Order. What you see standing before you is everything I need at the present time....and make no mistake....danger and death can take any form. Especially from those that radiate beauty and mystique. However, I will not react quickly to dismiss such assistance."

I turned my eyes from him as I looked out to the horizon scanning for my real purpose here. I knew of an apex predator that roamed and haunted these parts, a predator that would bring both prestige from the Masters and elevate the fear of me from the others. More rivals in the making. But only a fool would dare hunt this creature alone, and I was no fool. Turning my eyes back to the man below, I wondered if he to was here to hunt this beast.

"Tell me...friend, what do you know about this legendary beast they call the fire serpent?"

I could see the woman tence up as I walked closer. I did as well. With my thumb hovering the switch on my lightsaber, She may have seen the "claws" where the emitter of my lightsaber was. It was of Sith origin. I had received it from the Dark Jedi Master who had told me stories of a man who fell to the Dark side. I had always thought that the man in his stories was himself, but none the less, I let the old man's guise stay with me.

One thing that I remember from our three years of training together was that He wanted me to bring a new turn to the word of Sith. Even saying the word, everyone gets the thoughts of a man dressed in a hooded black robe with a red lightsaber and lightning crackling in his off hand. I still do this day do not know what he meant, but he taught me to be nice to others. Even as the woman thought me asking that if she would need help. she only stated that there was no way that a Sith could be a welp. and take said help. However she would not decline my offer at the moment.

Her words of question brought my head to a nod. I knew all too well of his Fire serpent. In my teachings I learned of a man who fought one with only a saber, yet the beasts were resilient to them. "Yes I have Lady Sith. As to what do you project to asking this question?" I put my lightsaber hilt up back into my jacket. My chest was showing and for a 19 year old, I was rather defined in my body shape, but that was from 5 years of the military, and another three years trained under a Dark Jedi master.

I wondered what the woman was getting at. But in my mind, a small voice spoke to me saying that she was probably going to go and hunt one of these fabled Serpents. And with some of my powers, I thought about how I had a higher calling of controlling minds on Near humans. Maybe it could work on beasts of the lakes of lava that dwelled in this planet of Eol Sha.

So this man, who had yet to reveal his name to me, knew of the serpent I spoke of. Interesting. I reached into my black and red satchel and produced a small, silver metallic device. After punching in a series of numbers and speaking into the small speaker on the front, activating the voice recognition program, I waited for the beep and after it came forth; I placed the device back in my bag. I leaped down from the blackened stone, landing a few feet away from the man not to startle him into foolishness.

"I am under the impression that this beast is hard to slay. That even the hot blade of a lightsaber has no desired effect upon its scaly hide which leads me to believe that if one was to undertake such an adventure to kill this beast...that both assistance and cunning would be involved. Unfortunately for me, I have not come across such a monster nor do I possess such knowledge to begin such a search."

I looked to my left and saw my one-person landspeeder cruising through the rock crevices toward me. When it arrived, I tossed my satchel inside. Turning around and leaning against the side, I pulled my red and black cloak around me, pulled my hood over my head leaving only my lower face exposed. I knew it would be foolish for me to invite or ask this figure to assist me. But I would be a bigger fool to take on such brute alone.

Tapping my right index finger on my lips, I finally came to a conclusion. I could foresee no way around it and perhaps working with another would be a change of pace; only if this once.

"I have a proposal for you. If you know where to find this fire serpent and if we can work together in slaying it...I will forgo all prestige to you and all profits you will receive for selling its hide in exchange that I keep the crystal that is embedded under the serpent's tongue as a trophy. That is my only offer."

I cocked my head as the woman pressed a few buttons on a device. Still after she did so. the nameless woman spoke about not knowing where to find one. I smiled as I knew exactly where to look. As I was in the Military, for a time we had a seprate group that would go and hunt Sithspawn that attacked the citizens, and hunted monsters that we would take as trophies. Hunting down just Sith spawn in my time there, I knew how to track animals, and I researched a lot about hunting these said animals.

The woman looked ruthless and if we were to fight, it could be a toss up between the both of us. I had a feeling that she wanted something from the beast. As if on cue, a speeder came zooming up to her. Her cloak now to cover her body was either for protection, which was not really needed, or to just cover herself up. She spoke about getting a crystal from underneath the tongue of the beast. I smiled as those were one of the things that I wanted, And yet, I didn't need it now at the current moment. Nodding my head, "As long as I get the Scales, I don't care what you take from it."

I walked back to my speeder and then stopped. "Since you won't say your name, I'll tell you mine." Turning back to her I gave her a half assed salute with my first two fingers. "Kai Nariko." I vaulted my left leg over the speeder and smiled. "Lets go hunting." I knew this might be fun. Trying to take on this beast would take some thinking and a challenge. but with my mind control, I could probably make it surface, and with a vibro sword, cut it open from the inside out. Even scales don't grow on the inside of these beasts.

A cold and dark smile slowly crept across my face, a pact had been formed; fragile or not I would honour my side of the deal. Though I was slightly taken back when he wanted the scales of the serpent and at once I knew why. Many warriors of the Sith had cherished these valued scales, paying extensive amounts of credits to have them forged into armour, which I always perceived as both weakness and lacking of confidence in their skills and abilities. If fate was ready to cut your string, then nothing including high priced armour would prevent that. So the scales would be his and the crystal would be mine.

"I believe you and I have reached an accord," I said jumping into my speeder. I was just about to power up the hovering machine when I noticed the male looking at me out of the corner of my eye. I cocked my head slightly toward him. He told me his name and I shot him a smile.

I struggled with myself if I should reveal my own name to him but in the end, common sense won out. If we were making plans that involved in working together to bring down this fire serpent, then I would have to grant him some measure of trust; but only a small measure.

"Zaria....I am called Zaria," I replied revealing my name to this man who calls himself Kai Nariko. Perhaps a bond of friendship or even an acquaintance would serve a purpose to me. Making enemies came natural to me but this whole concept of making friends was something completely unknown to me. Years of spending my life with my Father in seclusion and dealing with his self-imposed exile left me with no conversation skills, which was the root cause of so many rivals.

"Yes, let us begin the hunt....friend," I said trying to play the role of friend as best as I could then added, "lead the way!" I flipped a couple of switches and pressed the starter button on the speeder's console. With a vibrating hum followed by rock and ash tossed about under the speeder's carriage, my mode of transportation was ready; and so was I.

Smiling as she introduced herself as @[member="Zaria"] I nodded my head as she later said to lead the way. Revving my speeder I sped off towards the west. She seemed squemish when her name was said. I could slightly understand how she may have not had a real understanding for the social ques. With the speed that I was zooming towards the mountain range. Where ever you can find a volcano, you can find lava. Though it may be small or insignificant at first, it will break away to become larger.

These fire serpents were known to be around lakes of lava. Even so, Inside of the belly of a volcano. I doubt that we could swim in the lava. So I opted to just find a lake. Up head was a local volcano. I knew that it was there, Only because to not lose my sense of direction, I kept it in my sight, We would be there in less than a few minutes by the way that we were traveling.

In my landspeeder I followed Kai west, heading toward a set of mountains where it would make sense for a fire serpent to take up residence. I noticed how lava had flowed down the mountain sides from their volcanic cousins as our approach drew nearer. Also, I saw several lakes of fire and not wanting to be surprised by these legendary creatures, I opened up my mind through the Force scanning the area around and inside the lake.

We finally reached our destination and I pulled up alongside my recently acquired partner putting my vehicle in stand-by mode. I stood up, but remained in the speeder, looking around the area for any signs of the serpent. When I did not see any or feel nothing stirring about, two thoughts occurred to me.

The first was simple, had we come to this place only to find no serpent to hunt. The other thought, if there was a serpent lying about, could it mask itself in the Force; feeling us but leaving us without the ability to detect it. If it was the latter, then we would need to tread carefully.

I turned to look at Kai now. "I'm not detecting anything."

Taking a stop, we were at the lava flow of one of the many runoffs that were in the area. Bringing the speeder to a standstill on the edge of the lake, I could hear Zaria say that she couldn't feel anything. I smiled and shook my head. "You rely too heavly on the force to find what you want." Getting off of the speeder bike, I walked to the edge of the pool. I was standing on what seemed to be hard ground. Taking my saber out, I turned to her. "Feeling for them in the force is like trying to use your feet to find a needle in the hay stack. You will hurt your feet, and never find what you are looking for."

My saber activated, and swinging it so the blade was now in the pool of lava, I kept the hilt above the searing heat. I began to walk backwards. Cutting through the molten rock like a hot knife in butter. I kept going for about three meters when finally My saber stopped. The only thing out here that could not be cut from a saber under the lava, was the fire serpent itself. I took my blade back up. and using the force, pulled my speeder away from the edge. Just so that it was now 5 meters behind me. Turing to the Sith comrade, I nodded to her, "I hope you are ready." Putting my hand inches from the lava, I then let a spark of lightning leave my hands.

The red and black fingers laced the ground beneath me, and thats when the whole ground beneath us shook.

I watched as Kai activated his weapon hen dip the blade into the molten lava up to its hilt. My left eyebrow cocked up slightly at this display. I was about to comment on this then let my thought dissipate instead; watching him cut away at the searing rocks and ground beneath the lava. I hopped off my mode of transportation and stood a few feet behind him when he finally withdrew his blade from the lava.

As he was telling me to get ready, I felt the ground beneath my booted feet shake and tremble with a force that I never experienced before. Was our target finally going to make an appearance? Recalling that my lightsaber blades would be of no use in this situation, I called my satchel to my hand. After rummaging through it, I produced three thermal detonators that I was saving for a special occasion such as this then tossed the bag back into my speeder.

"I have these little beauties here....so what is our plan?" I looked down at the ground and saw the first remnants of the fire serpent begin to emerge. I could feel the excitement wash over me while the anticipation to test my cunning against a powerful predator.

As the ground was shaking, I put my saber away and began to walk off of the shaky surface as the woman dug into her bag, pulling out three thermal detonators. Shaking my head I spoke over the loud cracking of rocks. "IF YOU WANT TO BLAST YOU CRYSTAL SKY HIGH AND RUIN MY SCALES! BE MY GUEST!" Pulling my vibrosword I began to walk to the left as the triangle shaped head of the serpent broke the surface, but only enough to see it's eyes and nose. "TRY AND DIVERT ITS ATTENTION!" I hunched to the ground to make myself smaller and insignificant.

Only at that time, did the serpent's head completely break the surface, and looking straight at me, did lava spew from its mouth. Oh I hated this. Pressing my hand forwards, I pushed with the force. sending the lava back at the beast. Keeping it blinded from it's on attack. "Hit it from the inside with your saber!" Looks like it was her job to kill it now. Only if she could stay away from the lava, and the eye's of the beast.

I looked over at my partner in this great hunt and shook my head at his words. He assumed I was going to use them against the serpent in a way that would destroy the beast and ruin his precious scales. But he was wrong. When he began to attack the mighty serpent, I moved into a flanking position to distract it, using the thermal detonators. Using the Force to aide me, I lept over the beast dropping one of the high explosives weapons behind it. The detonator exploded the moment my booted feet touched a heavily burned stone surrounded by lava, sending waves of lava all around the beast.

The serpent hissed loudly as its massive frame squirmed from the aftershocks. But I wasn't resting on my previous success. Again I used the Force and lept over the serpent's head as it turned to look at me and once again dropped another explosive in front of its scaled face. The explosion pushed the beast backwards as the shock waves blinded the beast. Turning around after I landed another rock island, I unclasped my lightsaber, activated both sides and readied myself for a third attack.

With the great serpent reeling now, I jumped onto to its exposed back, slashed from left to right then right to left, carving deep into its exposed flesh where no scales resided to protect it. To avoid being bucked off into the lava, I back flipped toward the rock island once again, tossed the last detonator into the lava near the beast. When the last of my explosive devices erupted, it threw lava into the air, most of it landing inside the exposed wound of the beast.

With another ear splitting hiss, the fire serpent fell backwards toward me and that was when I moved to finish the beast. Using my telekinesis, I gripped a large boulder and hurled it at the head of the serpent, smashing it against its face, shards of broken rock digging deep into its eyes; blinding the serpent.

Using both blades of my lightsaber, I began to slash and cut at the beast's fleshy throat until at last it crashed onto the side of the lava pool, its mouth falling open and its ruined eyes rolling back into it's head. I jumped from one rock to another until finally landing on stable ground a few yards from the dying the beast.

As I looked upon the dying creature, I commented, "Your scales are safe....friend." Using the Force, I lifted the tongue up slightly and cut out the crystal with my left ended blade. Dropping the tongue, I walked away from the beast toward my speeder to place my trophy in my satchel. "The rest is all yours....friend."

Clearly this woman did not need to have any help. She seemed to be doing all of this on her own with her double bladed lightsaber. Her attacks and using the three detonators as a tool to get rid of the scales was efficient. And most of the other scales stayed in tact. Shaking my head as she took the crystal from under the tongue of the fantastic creature. Zaria commented that my scales were still intact. Raising my left hand I grabbed a hold of the beasts head and began to pull it more inland to get all the scales that I possibly could.

"Wanting to take the fight for yourself arn't ya!" I slightly laughed as my crimson saber activated. Looking at the fireworm. I had to notice that it was not that large to some accounts of what I had heard or read. Looking at it. The Lava dwelling beast only had a few scales along the outside of its body. Near the tail end it was though the scales were only being formed on the beast. This was not a full grown fireworm. It was only a baby. Even as that may, I had a bad thought going through my head.

"Find the baby, and the mother is close." What seemed to be a roar of something immensely larger. I shook my head. The mother was here. Seeing that Zaria was still at her speeder, it was my time to shine. All at once a triangle head with the horns on the sides of it's head reared up from the lava, and being right next to its child. Was the mother fireworm. Its throat and other bulges in its long body were expanded. Probably the little pockets of air that helped it move from up to down in the lava flow. Even then, I knew where to attack. Rushing forwards. My left hand grabbed the deceased body of the baby and lifted it up to smack into the larger one of the two.

With the incline of the baby's body, I ran up the beast's corpse. and along the way, my saber shut off. It was placed back in my jacket as it was torn off of me. My body became a rippling of muscles and bones. My war cry formed into a roar that rivaled that of the Lava dragon. I became a beast that stood over 3 meters tall. My form was that of a beast that nobody had ever seen. And to make this all the better, My powers of Telepathy and illusion came true to make my form shady and seeme to be made purely of shadow as I ran. Black fingers of darkness swirled around my body as I jumped to meet the beast head on. Grabbing a hold of the mother's head, I made my right hand form into a pike, and stabbed it into the eye of the beast. And my foot came to smash in its large teeth. My Cry of blood came and with my right hand I reached into the beast's mouth, and yanked out it's tongue.

Howling in pain. I slammed my left hand, still as a pike, up in through the roof of its maw, and into the brain of the beast. This pike made of bone protruded from the top of its head. I then jumped back and landed on my feet with my right hand on the ground to steady myself and my pike-arm up ready to strike. The head of the fireworm teetered back and forth. and when I thought it may attack. it fell over to the side. crashing through the rock and embedding itself into the hard landscape. My breath was raspy and heavy as My body became smaller to the size of my Atoan height. It took a minute for me to get rid of all the extra weight and height. But I got what I wanted.

Turning to the woman as my face still remained the same, slowly changing back into the one that I had before. I laughed. "That was fun."

"When the call of battle and the smell of death is pending....I allow myself to be emerged within the feeling, letting it grip me...bringing myself, the Force, and the Dark Side in perfect unison," I replied carefully placing my satchel in the speeder. I had my crystal and it would serve me in the future when I shape and focus the red gem so that it would be ready for installation into my lightsaber. I had studied up on crystals, fancying myself a highly educated person in that field, and knew what benefits were granted to a lightsaber with a fire serpent's crystal added to it; especially one infused with the energy of the Dark Side and the Force energy of one who walks that path.

Suddenly I heard a powerful roar, one that eclipsed the roar of the serpent we had just killed, and realized that Kai had mentioned something about mother and baby. So the Mother was seeking revenge. But I had my prize, and as far as I was concerned , this grieving mother could spend the rest of her life seeking out revenge; revenge that would never be quenched. Though for a passing moment, the idea of taking another crystal had some appeal to me, in the end I allowed to leave it be. More than one installed fire serpent crystal could hamper or cause damage to a lightsaber.

I held my hilt in my left hand ready to jump into the fight to assist Kai when he charged toward the creature. I watched him transform and slaughter the beast with precision, taking for himself another set of scales. "Fun....it seemed to me that you found some amount of pleasure in that," I said looking at the dead serpent.

After looking down at myself from the comment that was made. I saw blood over by chest, and pants. Even more so that my arm that had been used as a spike, was completely covered in the bright red blood of the fireworm. I shrugged my shoulders as my facial features were still moving slowly into place. I could feel the muscles moving into the proper position. I chuckled slightly with a scoff as I spoke, "I guess you could say that I like the adrenaline rush." IEnding my comment with a slight smirk, I walked over to my fallen jacket and grabbed the Vibrosword that was resting next to it.

I moved myself without thinking towards the beast's that now rested next to eachother. I chose the mother out of the two. Walking over I decided to grab the crystal for myself that was under her tongue. I then spun around and pointed to the baby of the two with my sword. "If you want some of the scales for yourself, I would have more than enough to share, and I mean, you killed one of them by yourself." She did take one on completely on her own. And since we were helping eachother, I decided to let her have some. Only the right thing to do.

Taking a second I realized that I could use the scales for more than just a trophy. Maybe I could use it as armor, or some sort of Alchemy. I knew of the force and some of its limitless powers, but learning of them would be a different matter. Maybe with this, I could make simple armor for the fights that I was prone to getting myself into. And with the way that the woman handled herself, She might want some as well.

@[member="Zaria"]

I looked over at the dead serpent baby and a thought occurred to me in regards to the scales. I knew someone that could manipulate the scales, infusing them with the Dark Side, to create an enchanted piece of armour; but what? I walked over to the dead serpent baby and began to cut away some of the scales, placing them in my satchel for a future endeavor.

"I must thank you for sharing these scales. I believe I already have a grand design for their use," I said turning my attention back to Kai, sliding my right arm through the satchel's strap. "Well this was fun...more fun thought I would ever imagine on this heated world. If there are no other adventures in sight, I believe it is time for us to part company."

I tossed my bag into my vehicle and followed suit. Pressing the activation button on the control panel, the speeder hummed again to life. Looking over at Kai one more time, I added, "If you ever find yourself in trouble or need of assistance, please feel free to contact me on my com link. The designated code is HK45-89." I pressed the control stick forward, heading toward the settlement to speak about getting off this planet and meet up with a certain Sith Knight to bring the fight to the Republic and Jedi.
