A Matter of Perspective (Republic)

@[member="Daella Apparine"] @[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] @[member="Diana Moridena"] @[member="Arumi Zy"]

An hulking figure moved toward the Republic Senate building. The crowd parted before him like frightened animals. A chitinous substance encrusted almost the whole of his body, save for a peculiar lattice-work helm. Anger, annoyance and other emotions of the Dark Side rolled off him in waves. He drank in the crowd's terror and smiled, revealing a row of too-white teeth. He hummed to himself as he stomped along before coming to a stop in front of the Senate entrance.

"I HAVE COME IN PEACE," he bellowed, his words echoing for miles around.

He let the Dark Side flow through him, drawing in its heady power. A black hole in the Force that would draw the Jedi and their precious light like sharks to blood. He sat down, cross-legged, closed his eyes... and waited.

Yusan had decided he would spend time on the outside of the Senate Building today, why is it always these sort of days that someone always seems to choose to come and talk to the republic. With a sigh Arthur moved towards @[member="Hion the Herglic"] and spoke in his direction, his voice calm and loud enough for the Herglic to hear. "Welcome, and i greet you in peace, what is it you want? And i hope its not our leader, hes indisposed."

A low hum emanated from the walking whale, though whether its tone was one of amusement or irritation was unclear. The Herglic remained seated, eyes still closed.

"Hauumm, I do recall your name, Fenn, as I expect you recall mine." The courteous and immensely deep voice of the Herglic did not betray the hurricane of rage within. "I did not leave Coruscant of my own choosing. Yet I fled under fear for my life. Upon discovering the Dark Side I wield, the Jedi attempted to murder me and eradicate what they saw as a perversion of the Force. Hauum. Understandable, perhaps, yes... I can see their side of things. But I wish to flee no longer. I stand here a citizen of the Republic and I wish to be recognized as such."

@[member="Yusan Fenn"]

Antares Windu had felt the dark side when it had been given a a point to centre upon. And since he was already within the area, he found a speeder that he could borrow and found his way to the frnot of the Senate Building. There was a large figure there, and when he came close, he let the speeder fly over the ground before he stepped off and it parked itself quite nicely and he walked over.

Curious to see a dark sider here, and with his drexl armour. ((If you still have that not sure.)) He didn't care though, about the armour anyway. A Sith, upon a Republic world? And he was a Jedi? he chances! There could only be a few things that the Sith wanted here, none of them good. And then he began to walk up to the Sith.

He inclined his head to, @[member="Yusan Fenn"], he didn't know the man, though he garbed himself as if from the Senate. A senator then. He turned his head to look at the Herglic. "Greetings." He said, his tired looking eyes stared out of his skull. "Who and why are you here?" No more niceties. This would be sorted as quick as possible.

The armor covering Darth Orcus was of a curious substance. Not Vonduun Crab armor, though it appeared of similar material, but smoother, with many small platelets. Indeed, the armor itself was alive. Orbalisks. Parasites. They fed off of Darth Orcus. They should have eaten him alive long ago, but for the helm he wore and the strength of the dark side within. They caused him pain, but heightened his powers in the Force. More symbiotic than parasitic in truth.

The voice of a Jedi whose name escaped Orcus grated upon his ears. The Orbalisk venom coursing through his system did not help with restraint, but the hurricane within him had been spinning for a long time. He controlled it, not the other way around. He was no more slave to his emotions than to the Jedi Council.

"I am," said Orcus slowly, eyes still closed, "Hion of Giju, Senator of Tython. Though you may call me Darth Orcus. Hauum... but this matter does not concern you. The authority of the Jedi, let alone one of your stature, does not override that of the Vice Chancellor, unless...." Orcus' eyes finally opened and turned to @[member="Yusan Fenn"], "I am mistaken?"

One of his dark hands rose up and started to strike his jawline. A serious matter indeed. A Sith thought he could just waltz onto the planet and speak to...important officials? No no no. "I will call you Hion." He said in a way that brooked no argument. In no way was he stern. With the lazy and tired look in his eyes, the way his lips curved slightly upwards in a grin, and just how he was positioned, it was quite evident Antares wasn't the man to be arguing with. Though he doubted the Sith knew that.

"You say...My authority is irrelevant to that of the Vice Chancellor's." He started out, and with a side glance to the Vice Chancellor, "yet you do not conceal your presence within the Force?" Antares questioned. If the Jedi had no reason to be in his business, why announce it through the Force? "If I have no reason to be here, do not project yourself through the Force." He said with a shake of his head. "It is unbecoming." He meant no insult, though he didn't mean it kindly either. It was just the words that came out of his mouth.

"Now what do you want here?"

@[member="Hion the Herglic"]

Orcus gestured toward @[member="Antares Windu"], though he continued speaking to @[member="Yusan Fenn"]. "You see? Hauum. They wish me to suppress my presence in the Force, though I do no harm with it, simply because it swims against their current. They wish to regulate the beliefs of every citizen in the Republic, weeding out those they find... 'unbecoming'."

"Your attempts at twisting my words, fail, Sith." His head shook upon his coloured neck. "I see I will need to explain myself further for you." He made a show of his clearing his thought, quite an uncharacteristic move from Antares, thought he continued it for a few more seconds, unnecessarily before he said, "you said I have no business here." He said, and he turned his head to, @[member="Yusan Fenn"] for confirmation. Whether he got it or not he continued. "If I had no business, why did you proceed to call the Jedi here with your Bogan presence." He referred to the dark side by it's ancient name and his head shook again, as if in pity for the Sith. "It is unbecoming of you to gather the attention of the Jedi upon the Republic's capital, where I am certain you know full well the Jedi Temple is located, and then proceed to act as a beacon within the Force." When he spoke, he made sure that he didn't 'insult' the Sith by referring to his path in the Force as the dark side. It will just be another way for him to twist his words.

"Do I need to explain my words further? Or shall you tell me why you are here?"

@[member="Hion the Herglic"]

The Herglic shook his head sadly and waited for his old friend in the Senate, @[member="Yusan Fenn"], to reply. He was not beholden to this Jedi's demands, nor would he give him the satisfaction of an answer. @[member="Antares Windu"]

@[member="Hion the Herglic"]

If the Sith would give him no response, Antares wouldn't speak anymore. He had to admire the Sith however, he wished he didn't speak as much as the Herglic, perhaps he would be so much more better off. Doing what though?

Antares couldn't help himself however. He just had to speak, at least say one more thing. "If you were a Jedi, with the Republic and the Jedi Order we could have brought peace to the Galaxy." And that was the last thing he said.

"Hion?" His name would be said in a mixture of surprise, relief, shock, and curiosity. The voice was feminine, light, and would be familiar to the Herglic. A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, the Lorrdian had been assigned to Hion as his master after all.

She stood about ten meters behind the Herglic, her blue eyes wide as she took in a completely different sentient she'd originally met and had taught about the Force, light and dark, and the role of a Jedi in the Order.

Like it was only yesterday.

*FLASH*
...There is something you ought to know.
My main business for years has been mercenary work.
I am not very proud of it. My fellow Herglic are a gentle kind. We don't not relish in violence. Normally.
But I think I might've been cursed otherwise....
Hion... it's ok
Your past is your past, and was the road that brought you here.
*FLASH*

The memory was still fresh in her mind. Slowly she took a step forward.

"Is that you?"

Yusan sighed as he watched the two go back and forth, exchanging words as Hion repeatedly looked for a word or two from Yusan before exchanging words once more. He cleared his throat and spoke up, breaking the cycle as he spoke and crossing his hands behind him while he stood there in the Dark Jedi Robes he wore more normally than not. "Well, perhaps it is time for a drink no?" This world had seen enough conflict and Yusan would not see more be brought to this world, not anymore. "Also Hion, you have no need to worry about being removed from the planet, not so long as I have some remnant of authority. Lets just call it, diplomatic immunity and refuge for argument's sakes."

Yusan heard as @[member="Kira Liadain"] spoke, glancing around the man-whale to look at her with a raised brow. "Well hello again miss, spying on people again?" Yusan smiled, the last time he had seen this woman was at the temple when a certain former Jedi met with the council and she had been spying on them near Yusan.

@[member="Hion the Herglic"]

Orcus nodded and rose to his feet. The Herglic at his full height towered over @[member="Antares Windu"] and @[member="Yusan Fenn"], his height only outdone by his sheer size. Standing next to eight hundred pounds of orbalisk-encased blubber was known to be a cause of anxiety.

"Gratitude, Vice Chancellor. Perhaps, hauum, I could get it in writing before day's end." He smiled toothily; made all the more eerie as the helm he wore to prevent suffocation from the orbalisks only revealed his mouth and eyes. "I-"

Eyes of deep-onyx turned as a familiar presence came near. The Herglic froze, eyes like twin black voids revealing nothing. "@[member="Kira Liadain"]," he said at last. Orcus' sonorous voice boomed, deep and rich, carrying a hint of melancholic song. "It has been... a long time."

A touch of shame rolled through the Herglic. Eyes fell. He looked down the parasitic armor that covered him, feeding off the Dark Side and causing him endless pain. He managed to hide the agony behind his courteous political veneer, but deep within the Herglic felt unceasing torment. The Dark Side was his only refuge now. Even if he wanted to, he knew of no way to rid himself of these parasites. He sucked in air, expanding his enormous chest, and raised his head. Black eyes stared dispiteously. He was committed to it now. Body and soul.

He smiled sadly, noticing the shock that rippled from her in the Force. "I cannot take back the dice I have cast, Liadain. I must see how they land." He let out a soft hum. "Gambling. My greatest weakness. I did warn you," he chided gently.

MAN THE HARPOONS. IT'S WHALING SEASON ON CORUSCANT.
@[member="Hion the Herglic"]@[member="Yusan Fenn"]@[member="Kira Liadain"]@[member="Antares Windu"]

Sometimes. Just sometimes, Carn wished he had taken up the lucrative offer of using the Force to aid hunting Whales off the coast of some rundown port on Manaan given to him by some shady looking Atrisian's when he was a Padawan. The skill with a Harpoon would have certainly come in handy right now. However, he was a Jedi, and such thoughts were best put to one side. Conveniently as ever, Carn happened to be in just the right place at just the right time. It seemed to be the will of the Force. Either that, or some other Force propelling Carn on from behind an at-times thinly veiled fourth wall. Still. Here he was. Conveniently at the Senate tower. Even though he had a large measure of dislike for Politics. It naturally set him in a foul mood, and while he was a Jedi first and foremost, he was still human, and humans fell into foul moods upon occasion. It didn't help that an eight foot, eight hundred pound, crab infested Ex-Jedi had decided to appear.

"Orcus."

The word dropped from his mouth as naturally as his Lightsaber found it's way into his hand. A self proclaimed Darth, an ex Jedi, and the murderer of truth be told, one of Carn's favorite NPC's. At least at the time, anyway. Unfortunately for Orcus, or Hion... Or was it Shamu? He couldn't remember. The Herglic seemed to change names like high Coruscanti fashion changed. Carn began to pace around to the flank of the towering mass, careful to keep himself at a more than respectable distance. However, he made sure not to keep himself out of range for some form of assault. Sith didn't appear on Coruscant to have a friendly chatter, and a being such as Hion deserved little to no slack. His past crimes, and current state made sure of that.

"Jedi. Form a circle around the Sith. If he will not willingly allow himself to be taken into captivity, then you have my authorization as a member of the High Council to dispense justice in a way seen suitable. Knight Windu. Contact Republic command, and request marksmen on the rooftops."

@[member="Carn Dista"]

"Jedi Master, i would ask you to delay that order. Hion has done nothing to harm anyone here nor cause destruction. We are not the Sith Empire where attacking those on site is a daily practice and i have given Hion my word he will not be harmed. Is that understood, or did i miss the moment when the Jedi controlled the laws of the Republic." Yusan stared at Carn as he stepped inbetween @[member="Antares Windu"] and @[member="Hion the Herglic"], Making sure that the Jedi did not attempt to apprehend the Herglic and cause a secen.

Darth Fidelis lit one of his cigarettes as he approached the group. He let the dark side seethe through him as he listened to the one who thought he could give commands. High council or low council or what ever else he was duty bound to obey and that was his own choosing.

" Does the dark side scare you so that those who come in peace earn your blade? Your code demands peace and violence as only a last resort" he ashes his cigarette to add emphasis.

Antares said nothing. This was a Republic planet, and after all, the Republic did allow the Jedi upon their worlds simply for the reason that both of their missions tied in together. Bringing peace to the galaxy. "Councillor, I'm afraid that I am unable to command Republic Command to do anything, this may be a Sith, but we are not at war. I am not a Jedi General." If the Vice Chancellor wasn't there, maybe, just maybe Antares would have done what he had been told to do, but at this moment with the VC there, and the Vice Chancellor having given the Herglic 'diplomatic immunity,' Antares could do nothing.

He didn't move either when, @[member="Yusan Fenn"] moved in between him and the Herglic. As if he was going to move. But he did move when, @[member="Arumi Zy"] came along, only to move his head to glance at him. He wasn't worth the time.

"Perhaps, Vice Chancellor, you missed the parts in which Hion was directly responsible for the death of a Jedi, abusing the Force, and possession of a Lightsaber when not a member of the Jedi Order. There's also the point of Exilement from the Jedi for his fall to the Darkside - A sentence which banishes the being from Republic space. That, on my count, is at least three crimes. The first, and most severe, is murder in the second degree. The second, is the breach of terms of exilement. The third, is possession of a controlled, and restricted item. Standing where you are, places you in the role of aiding a known criminal, and obstructing justice, as defined by Republic Law.

I may not like your politics, Mister Fenn, however the laws that bind the Republic are something I am more than well versed in. Now, if you would, stand aside."

Carn outright chose to disregard the pointless addition from the newcomer. He was not here to argue ethics, thoughts, or even offer opinions on a subject. Hion had broken laws. Betrayed brothers. And returned an abomination. Arrest was the very least he was legally bound to offer. Carn genuinely didn't wish it to come to this. During the few chances he had to watch how Hion behaved before his fall from grace, Carn had grown to respect the Herglic. It was because of this former respect that he clearly offered Hion the time to drop whatever weapons he might be carrying about his oversized person, and allow himself into republic custody, so that he might say his piece on file, and be processed by Republic law, rather than the end of a lightsaber.

"The key word, was request, Windu."

As a note, it's worth mentioning Carn arrived post diplomatic immunity being offered. Not that it would matter to him. Zealous and all that jazz.

"I did not remember when Exilement from the Jedi meant that it was Exilement from republic Space, and as for murder and possession of a lightsaber, I am guilty of both as well and will say it right here. I am every bit a murderer as him for my past and for the wars i have partaken in, will you arrest me as well for carrying my mother's saber and having killed dozens in battle? How about you allow this man to speak on his own behalf and why he is here, but while i have a say he is under my protection and has Diplomatic Immunity. Now i ask again Jedi Master Dista, delay your order and let this man conclude his business here, if he had ill intentions i would have been attacked by now." To make case and point Yusan crossed his hands behind his back so that his robes didnt hide the saber any more.

"Vice Chancellor." The words uttered from his throat quite loudly, maybe a little too much. "He knows he is a Sith, he accepts it, he said he cannot go back." He said with a shake of his head. "You clearly accepted and changed your ways, or else you wouldn't be the Vice Chancellor, therefore your point is irrelevant to this situation." His gaze found the Jedi Master's.

"Hion, may be a 'criminal' but for you to have become Vice Chancellor, your actions will have had to have been pardoned. Am I wrong? Also, the Councillor meant that he is illegally holding a lightsaber, as a Sith baring a lightsaber." He saw the Herglic over @[member="Yusan Fenn"]'s head. "As a criminal, he should be trialled, not given 'diplomatic immunity.'" He ended his point there.
