A Meetup on Felucia

Felucia was a world that the man known as Vitor Imperieuse would rarely have reason to visit. A planet full of gargantuan fungal formations that riddled the landscape, consistently releasing waves of spores, agitated his system, and it was for this reason he wore a mask to help prevent his irritation by such airborne contaminants. The chief reason he had come here, however, was not for business - it was to meet with a Jedi who was on her way back to this world.

Perhaps she could update him as to how things had been.

Lately she had been plagued by horrid visions...while hard enough for her to "see" clearly through the veil of growing darkness she sensed a familiar aura that had recently been given life again. From what she could make of it all, she saw the resurrection of her former Master...it put the Jedi Master in a state of confusion filled with slight panic...she was here...here on Felucia present at Sochi Ru' funeral. It had been years since she felt her presence, but somehow that imprint had found its way back.

That was the real reason she returned to Felucia, she was searching for answers...from what she knew of the Togruta she would return here if she had truly stepped out of the Netherworld, but if that wasn't the case she would gain more insight into the working of the evils at play.

Since her arrival, she had taken refuge in one of the townships established after the Yuuzhan War decades ago, the Ithorians had settled here once their world became riddled with flames and nearly destroyed the ecosystem of the planet. She would live amongst them for the next few days until she could travel to the pyre.

The nearest settlement was a fresh location, and Vitor was soon there - the spaceport was nary a significant distance away. His rationale for being here had merely been to find answers, not to get a sinus infection from the level of fungal spores in the air. Soon he hoped he would find her - though his own Force presence was certainly visible enough that she would spot him through even the densest of crowds.

Then again, was he really ready to meet her?

She happened to be extremely sensitive to the minds and feelings around her. A settlement such as this was small in size. The ecosystem of the planet forced people to come and go as they just couldn't take living here for extended periods of time. The Ithorians however, lived for such an environment. Though, what made this place prominent was the trading that happened. Here medicine and other ointments and things of that nature were produced. Among the crowd she felt extremely light as her senses scouted the entire area. She didn't do this on purpose, but she couldn't help her connection those those around her.

However, the brightest spot appeared amongst the crowd. It was as if she was caught in a tide that pulled her in. In the back of her head she knew...he was searching for her, that much she could determine. She was shrouded in her robes, head covered by her hood and she followed the man until they would entire a space seemingly devoid of the others.

Perhaps he knew she was falling, or maybe the spores clouded his judgment, but that all mattered no more.

"Have you found what your looking for?" she said calmly, and she removed her hood to reveal her face.

"Perhaps." He turned towards her, the mask still covering his face as he did so. "You seem to be the brightest beacon around, if I may say so myself. I assume you're the Jedi I was given information about - but if I'm incorrect, I suppose it wouldn't be the first time." He smiled as best she could. "What is your name? And tell me a bit more about yourself - preferably somewhere that I can take this mask off."

It was starting to chafe his face.

"My name is Shmi...come." she said smiling and waving her hand, motioning for him to follow behind her.

She turned and started back in the next direction from whence they came. She visited town from time to time, but she conducted and stayed on the ship she had for the time being. Her Defender-class light corvette wasn't too far off and would serve as an ideal place for them to sit and discuss things, away from the ears of others.

It didn't take them long to find their way to one of the landing areas, and soon enough they would be boarding the ship and walking towards one of the conference rooms located on the first level. Better yet, [member="Vitor Imperieuse"] would be able to breath.

"You've come a long way, surely for no reason. How can I help?"

"I... Heard about what happened to your master. I have enough sources to have found out. The Republic can't exactly afford to lose more of its Jedi to the Dark Side. And as such, I would like to make you an offer." He smiled, removing the breath mask as he did so.

"I would like to offer you a job at my company. An opportunity to assist in the development of - special technologies, exclusively for Republic Force users, and as such, the Jedi Order."

She could tell by his facial expression that he knew something...the content? She wasn't quite sure. Shmi had very minimal associates...so for the visions to start and for him to come searching for her around this time spoke to something else being in the works. However, when he spoke of her Master her conscious flinched, but her outer exterior remained tranquil. Suddenly her eyes came to a squint and she turned her head slightly to the right.

He had heard about what happened? She wasn't aware that anything had transpired concerning her, she had her suspicions but....nothing was confirmed. She began to think that darker forces were at play here...and of which role Vitor played...she wasn't sure.

"You speak of these sources...who are they? And what is it they've reported?" she said showing concern, with a contemplating expression on her face.

"What company is this? And what does this job entail..." she was loosely affiliated with the Republic more s than her brethren, but she was curious.

"Sources who prefer to remain anonymous. All I know as of right now is that she now serves the Dark Side, likely resurrected through maleficent means." Of course, such sources had been truly anonymous - only someone with connections in the Sith would know of this.

"The company is Emeritus Industries. We manufacture exotic technologies for the Republic, and therefore, the Jedi. I am looking to expand our operations to the Galactic Alliance as well - and it is for this reason that I need someone who can assist me in the testing and development of Force-based technology that can better serve the Jedi and Light Side."

Then it was much as she expected, dark forces were growing by the minute and her vision had become blurred. Though, she still wondered about these associates and their relations to those that played a role in the plan to bring Jedi back from the afterlife. Her hand came up and her index finger curled around her chin as she began to think more on the matter, though rather briefly as the conversation was to go on. She would investigate further later on.

"Force based technology?" she said confused. She knew of its nature, but what threw her off was the negative effects such products could have if used for the wrong reasons, though that was in more extreme cases.

"If its for the preservation of the Galactic Republic, and for the needs of the people then...I suppose I wouldn't be opposed to helping. Though such a matter would require for me to receive clearance on the behalf of the Jedi. They would need to stay updated on the progression...at least the Grandmaster would."

She felt taking it to the council would persist for much to long, though the opinion of the Grandmaster mattered.

"If you insist." He sighed, breathing deeply now that he had the opportunity to get himself a breath of the freshest air on the world. As a spark of darkness seemed to arise in Shmi, he placed a hand on her shoulder. "Is something wrong? You... Your aura... It doesn't really feel right. Something happening that I should hear about, Miss?"

It was the least he could do to show concern.

For a moment she hadn't even realized he was asking her a question, it wasn't until his hand made contact that she realized what was going on. She turned to look at him before fully gathering her thoughts, "I apologize, I worry about the fate of the galaxy. The darkside prospers, feeding on the chaos and growing by the minute...where is the light? When will we see that beacon? My mind worries for whats to come'"

She smiled, thankful for the sentiment he showed towards her. "Was there anything else I could assist you with?"

"But does the Dark Side prosper in you?" He raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "Therein lies my question. One that I am still unsure of the answer, truthfully. Yet I know that balance will inevitably restore the Force to a state it must inevitably be in." For now, he had few other questions until another one perked up in his mind.

"These marks..." He pointed towards the miniature baubles on her nasal line. "What do they represent?"

She took a deep breath, and the motions of which were clearly present that anyone would notice. She squinted her eyes because she pondered his question and she wanted to phrase her answer correctly, "I wouldn't say that it prospers...but its definitely there...inside." she said knowing that she, like many Jedi, have yet to conquer their own internal darkness, it was the goal of so many.

"I believe that...things will always balance out in the end. Though that wouldn't subtract from the things we encounter in between that time." she said looking down for a brief moment and running her hands down her robes to knock out the wrinkles. When she refocused her attention she noticed him pointing directly at her.

"These are my lesser and greater marks of illumination, symbols that represent my status as a Chalactan Adept, representations of achieving enlightenment."

"Understandable. What more can you tell me about the Chalactan Adepts? Is there some sort of specific ideology they follow that distinctly distinguishes them from other Force users?" He was now genuinely curious - though truthfully the marks had drawn his eyes to her own. They were... quite piercing. Quite distinct.

He wasn't sure what else he could really say.

"Well they aren't an order of Force users, they are a philosophical group, who's ideals are valued in my culture." she said humbly, "They believe that the natural laws of the galaxy also play a vital role in our individual lives, they devote their time to studying those laws with hopes of strengthening their spiritual connection." she said nodding afterwards.

She couldn't reveal anything else, everything else must be learned at the temple.

"Fair enough." he smiled. "As is, I would still be more than wiling to hire you on with regards to Force-based technology. It's a major leap that few people have ever gotten the opportunity to focus on." A true fact indeed - if they had simply gotten the opportunity to further develop such technology, it could prove to be immensely useful in due time.

Especially in the hands of Jedi like herself.
