A Message ..

He had arrived to Ceto, and secured a salvaging job with Mister [member="Judah Dashiell"]. He had been there for a couple of days now, working hard and pulling his weight to earn his keep and a few extra credits to add to it all. Theo had promised Mister Dashiell that he would send a message home to his family, to tell them he was alright, alive and well. In the excitement of the new job and meeting his friend Makai, and fatigue of the trip, he had succumbed to sleep before he could.

Now, at work, he took some time on his break to send the message. Punching in the communication code to Voss and his father's office, Theo wrote a short text message.

Hello Papa!

I am well, I have a Job!

I am staying with a good friend of the family and the Sanctum, so I am safe. :p
Can you please let mother know I am fine and Nina too!

I love you.

~Theo.

It was late at night on Voss and the Silver Temple, and Thurion found himself unable to sleep. He wasn't the only one; his wife rested in his arms, and neither seemed able to close their eyes and drift off to sleep. Instead they lay holding one another, the covers keeping them warm and comfortable in the dark. And yet, no rest came to them.

Thurion caressed Coci's raven hair as she rested upon his chest; his injuries had finally healed, with the exception of some minor stings of pain easily put down with the help of medication. At least he could function properly, and his walking stick had long since been discarded. "I think about him too," he whispered past her ear as they lay in silence. There was no traffic around the temple during these hours, and no birds were awake to sing their songs. "Do you think we did the right thing, letting him go?"

Before she could answer him, there was a light beeping coming from his nightstand. "My comm-link," he sighed, not really in the mood to check it out. It was linked to his office specifically so he could be reached even at night, in case of an emergency. Still, he reached for his nightstand clicked a button to make the written message appear before their eyes in bright-orange text, serving as the only light source in the room. Together the couple began reading it in silence, only to soon realise it was from Théo.

Thurion's hold of his wife grew ever tighter, and as the short but heartfelt message came to an end he smiled, and even laughed a little. "That's our boy." He then kissed her soft lips, and it didn't take long for the two to find blissful rest in each other's arms with the knowledge that Théo was alive and well.
