A Mission... or Something

:: HERO of KORRIBAN ::
Jol Bisa was still getting used to his new robes. He'd joined the Jedi. It got him away from his father, and the expectations he had, but placed new ones on him. At least he wasn't going to have to worry about the number of tattoos he had. The Jedi didn't care about that.

Bisa tugged at cloak. He'd at least modified the outfit to be comfortable, which was more than he could say for what he'd seen others wear. He was standing in the hangar bay waiting to be met but the person who had agreed to take him on as a student. Apparently they were going on some mission already, who, what, why, where, and how, all of that was fuzzy to him. All he knew was the master was a woman. They'd not met face to face yet.

Now there would be some who would look at this situation with excitement. Think about, a trip to somewhere unknown with a random woman willing to take you with them. Right, this was the Jedi, so there was none of that going on. At least that was the rumor anyway. Jol only knew he knew nothing, and that made him a little nervous. It was fine though. He could always be back home.

Chevu only knew two things about the new student she was meeting in the hangar adjacent to the newly built temple on Sullust. The first thing was that he was one year older than she. The second, he was a Mirialan, just like her. She'd never met another of her species, and was quite anxious about it. She herself had been adopted by Arkanians and never knew her true birth parents. She knew that her tattoos meant that she was trained in the arts, but only because she had researched their meaning herself. Perhaps Jol could share some tidbits about their cultural identity.

Although she was training him to be a Jedi in the New Jedi Order, Chevu did not wear robes for this mission. Instead she chose clothing with armorweave underthings and a leather jacket. Wearing more casual street clothes was a habit she picked up from Coren Starchaser. Although if Master Oomomo saw her going robeless, she suspected that the Sullustan would likely have a fit. If he ever recovered from his illness that is.

There was no mistaking who Jol Bisa was. The green skin was a dead giveway. It was strange seeing someone of her own kind, cultural tattoos and and all. Chevu had to fight the urge to ask the boy a million questions. Unfortunately, they had a mission to undertake, she could gawk at him more on the shuttle to their destination.

"Jol?" she said, greeting him with a smile, her teeth bright white against her green skin. "I'm Chevu Visz. I'm here to take you scroll hunting."

The voice he heard was young. He had not expected that. Turning around the next surprise came. She was Mirialan. There was a brief moment where he wanted to hang his head, but she would not know. This was a place to start over, a place where he did not have to be the disappointment his father had seen him to be. Was she gawking? He was, though mostly because she wasn't in robes. Well yeah she was pretty, and that was a bonus. Jol might be in trouble. His master was pretty and the samw race. What were the chances of that.

"Scroll hunting, and you aren't in robes? Are they not required," he asked with curiosity and hope etched in his voice.

They were not comfortable in certain ways. He'd rather be in street clothes like she was. A pair of dark jeans, or a black tactical pant, an armor weave t-shirt with a black or navy jacket would be great, but no, he was in robes. Jol was mostly pesimistic right now. That would change the more he got out of his past and into his future, but for now it was just the outcome of his life transition.

"Where are going, Master?"

That sounded weird, but it was what he was supposed to say, right? Okay maybe back to gawking. At least that was normal, a guy to gawk at a cute girl. Something told him though, she was as curious about this as he was. Well, the flight would be a good time to learn each ither's stories and see how they could work together.
