These would be enough students. Darlyn watched each step in, how they stood and acted. Through the Force, he could sense each glowing with the Light, a not unexpected but somewhat disappointing turn of events. Surely they could all sense the Dark within him, even restrained as he was making it. Then again perhaps each student here had kept an open mind, or otherwise were too oblivious of the events from one another's own light to make notice. [member="Jasper Candos"], [member="Sigyn Vanir"], even the noticeably brighter [member="Kahlil Zambrano"] were all in that group of whom he did not have an inkling of their perceptions. With [member="Caedyn Arenais"] at least, he knew it was their familial sort of bond that kept his mind open, as well as his own history without the Jedi. [member="Auburn Sioda"] though was the only one to whom her motivations for looking past such details was, blatant.
Well, the students were here, best to get started. He rose up to his feet, the lightsabers rising by the Force to clip to his belt as he pulled Auburn down gently, returning her kiss with a small one of his own. "And Hello to you too, Fireheart. Best fall back with the rest of class for now, we'll continue this evening." It was quietly said, but it was a quiet room anyways so it hardly would've mattered. Still, with that matter settled, the Dark Jedi took a few steps back and looked at each student for a moment. "I hope you weren't expecting a lecture on theory and principles. I don't exactly think you can all learn how to use Niman with such things. For those who care, Niman is a form of moderation with its bladework. If you know the basic premise of each prior form, then you can understand that Niman is simply the application of them all without exceptional focus on any one aspect. If Makashi is a form focused solely on thrusts and cuts for instance, Niman uses them as is appropriate, without hampering our ability to rain down heavy swings."
Darlyn lifted a hand, and made a 'come hither' motion towards one of the walls, where the training sabers were located. Enough for the class and himself came flying out, landing roughly by each student's feet, and one in his hand. "The only thing unique to Niman's style, is a heavy focus on utilizing the Force in combat. To keep one's self open to the flow of the Force amidst combat may sound simple enough, but Niman mastery means the use of Force strikes and techniques are as instinctual as any bladework. Drawing opponents into your blade, using a force blast in all directions to force anemies back after a missed swing, these are things that were developed for the Form itself. Niman rewards any and all creativity and punishes strict adherence to rules and form. There are probably as many variations of Niman as there are users, with little to call the core of the form."
"As such, this is going to be different than teaching you practice velocities and having you drill the principles into memory. I want you all to pick up the training sabers and find the stance that feels the most right to you. Then we will begin." Then he did so himself, activating his newly acquired blue training saber, and holding the weapon seemingly loosely by his side. Of course, Caedyn would recognize this as one of Darlyn's usual, actual stances in a fight rather than simply him standing comfortably. The boy had probably seen his Uncle in combat a few times at least.
