A new dawn

A new dawn arises! with the Silver jedi offensive shattered at Mirial,
The rebel remnants have been driven off planet with all hope seemingly lost.
A new faction has arisen, forged in steel and emboldened by new radical leadership.

Sensing opportunity in a galaxy wrought with chaos and conflict,
The Siel Manta gather in the far fringes of the eastern sith empire
planning for a new series of offensives against the malicious overlords
that holds their homeworld hostage.

YEAR: 853
TIME: Midnight
LOCATION: Undisclosed Underground Rebel Base

Tancred was sitting in one of the lesser-used tunnels in the current rebel base he was operating from. He could not help but get attached to the place and those who resided within, despite it's harsh living-conditions. Discomfort was like an old friend to the one-footed rebel, and so his current residence would make for a relatively decent retreat, while on leave.

<<<Aaaah, on-time and not a single voice can be heard... Perfect....>>>, Tancred whispered, as if to nobody at all. He never did talk to himself, but sometimes muttered himself through certain menial tasks. With that, he would still be silent most of the time, much like now. Tancred was sat, completely still. He would be seen as one meditating if he wasn't staring at the idle hologram, just a few feet in front of his lap.

The hologram projector produced a life-sized hologram of a man. He looked about fifty, his arms were crossed, staring intensely at Tancred. The projection elevated his image off the ground, though assuming it was actual size, he was pretty tall, a few inches above Tancred. The long cape he wore identified him as a Mirialan of high renown.

<<<I assume you've heard about the unfolding situation in CSA space?,>> The hologram spoke calmly, evidently musing on the situation at hand, << Sith attention will be divided at this point in time and it will prove to be fruitful if handled correctly.>>

Tancred brought his flesh-foot forward, then propped himself up on the knee that sat above his cybernetic foot, standing fluidly to attention and meeting the gaze of his commander's hologram. Despite the digital glow, it did little to contain the imposing size of his commander's physique. There was no doubt that Narses was every bit the legend that Tancred had grown to appreciate from afar, every bit the soul of what Mirial should represent.

<<<Yes, sir....>>>, Narses' subordinate looked around the corner briefly, before continuing,<<<We've been laughing ourselves silly, even more so since we've heard of mass-fleet movement coming from Sith space>>>.

Narses maintained his silent stare, prompting Tancred's confirmation of the Sith's current tactical situation, and also his expansion on the subject. With silence taken into consideration, Tancred made to expand on the current Sith strategy,<<<And as for the exact numbers and what their plans are; nothing concrete yet, but it does look like they're going all-in, sir!>>>

Narses, still projected holographically and watched Tancred explain the findings that had came via his whistleblowers in the borderworlds, <<Commenors inaction and failures will be their undoing, but from it we shall benefit ultimately further down the line,>> the hologram distorted his voice slightly, giving it a harsh edge that reverberated throughout the cave tunnel.

<<I have a task for you specifically, one which regards the situation on Mon cal and our friends in the SJO.>>

Despite the harsh tone of his commander's distorted voice, Tancred understood and could not help but agree with it's reasoning, despite trying to know more about Commenor's efforts to stem the Sith. Whatever his commander knew, it was obviously in line with his own reasoning of the situation. The whistleblowers had served their purpose, and guesswork wasn't needed to guess as to what would happen to the CSA next. Yet Tancred's agreement or opinions on the matter were irrelevant, much like his whistleblowers had become. If his commander knew everything they knew, then they were useless to him now.

<<<cutting all transmissions to the area now, the voices have served their purpose... Mon Cal, eh? Never been to a waterworld, before, sir!>>>

Apparently satisfied by the response, if only barely, Narses spoke up again.

<<<You will soon enough, the Silver jedi plan to evacuate the planet and i want to show that we can pull our weight when it comes to taking action, you will be deploying to the planet with a battalion of soldiers to oversee evacuation efforts on the southern hemisphere of Mon cal.>>

Tancred hid his disappointment, knowing that he would probably not enter Mon Cal's orbit personally. His on-duty battalion would be able to experience it for themselves, though, if only fleetingly. To see it's splendor from afar would be enough for him, on this occasion. The mention of showing the Silver Jedi their worth had stirred something in him, and so his focus reasserted itself for the briefing at hand.

<<<I hear those fish-folk there are cunning strategists, but a strategic evacuation shouldn't prove to be too difficult... Despite this, I think I will issue orders to express extreme caution, below the surface... It is only prudent, sir!>>>

Narses did not seem perturbed by the statement, raising a slight eyebrow in what could be either amusement or simply nothing, "You will do what is expected of you and your command, nothing more nothing less, it is but a small move in the grand scheme of things but an important one nonetheless."

"I would advise you not underestimate our reluctant friends in the SJO. Initially, I believed details regarding their tactics unreliable, having seen what occured on Mirial. Records of other engagements and events have made it clear that they are dangerous, skilled, and more than capable of turning on us,” The older Mirialan spoke matter of factly.

Narses added on to his previous statement, typing onto his pad which he brought out of a side pocket, transmitting data to Tancreds own datapad. “Take the victory at Skor II for example. Despite their allies already suffering heavy losses and being outnumbered, rather than abandon their allies to the first orders onslaught, the SJO fleet baited the first order, then took advantage of the chaos to land a decisive hit on the flagship. When backed into a corner, they will commit their resources towards circumventing the opposing force’s defenses to decapitate it.”

From the look Narses had given him, Tancred had assumed his commander thought him slightly overcautious, but there was no disappointment to be seen in his expression, as the Siel Manta's leader continued on with his briefing. Tancred then put his own assumptions to the back of his mind, seeing the transmission request come up on his datapad, then accepting the request to find, yet again, a substantial amount of vital data & intel being sent from Narses, personally.

Narses' strategy was reassuringly sound; if they had no idea where his flagship was, then there was no way the SJO could make their own desperate finishing move from the back foot,<<<I see, for what can they do against a flagship they don't even know the location of, to begin with?>>>
