A new day, a new teacher

Anxious and excited, that's how the young Quigling felt. Excited by the fact that she was finally getting a Master to teach her in the ways of the force. Anxious because she wasn't exactly sure what to expect. The strange combination of emotions was difficult to keep under control.

Tika stood by the entrance to the temple. Her vibrant lavender eyes watched every being that walked by, all the while fidgeting with her small hands. She wasn't sure what her new Master looked like, just her name, [member="Sabine Galen"]. This posed as a small problem for her, then again she was the only Quigling in the temple so Sabine might find her easily enough.

Sabine had recently taken her first Padawan learner, and she took the chance to take on another. She wanted to be helpful around the temple, but she desperately hoped that she wasn't taking on too much. Well, she would soon find out... she only hoped that she wouldn't end up letting anyone down.

Walking briskly out of the temple, she glanced around. She'd arranged to meet her new student by the entrance, just to make things easy for both of them. She didn't know very much about her new padawan, only that she was Quigling – and quite eager to learn. It was a quality that she definitely liked.

Searching for a moment, she spotted a small figure up ahead.

Ah,” She approached, smiling. “You must be Tika if I'm not much mistaken. I'm Sabine.”

Sabine clasped her hands and gave the Quigling girl a small, polite bow.

Tika turned at the sound of the voice. Standing in front of her, was a human female who introduced herself as [member="Sabine Galen"]. The little Quigling at to keep herself from hopping from one foot to the other in excitement.

"Yes, this one is Tika." She returned the polite bow with her own. Sabine was younger than she expected, well...she actually didn't know what to expect. She had learned that age really didn't mean much when it came to teaching others, so why should it be any different now. "This ones excited to learn from you!"

Sabine smiled, the young Quigling's excitement made her chuckle softly, too. “Well,” She said, nodding. “I'm excited to teach!”

Clasping her hands in front of her, she took in Tika's presence. The Quigling was of small stature, standing a couple of feet shorter than she... but she knew that size was often deceiving. Sabine also observed a pair of rather inquisitive lavender eyes and snowy features. First things first, it would be best to get to know her new leaner a little bit.

“So, Tika,” she said. “Tell me a little bit about yourself – and your kind, if you don't mind. Do you have any experience with the force so far?”

Tika thought for a moment as she looked up at Sabine. So her new Master wanted to know more about her? That seemed like a good idea, considering they would be spending a lot of time together. "Umm..this one is from Quigos. Tika's family are nomadic hunters, and she has three siblings who are all the same age as her." The Quigling thought for a moment "Oh! Reading and hunting are things Tika does lots of."

How to describe Quiglings and her home planet. She never really had to do so for anyone before. "Quiglings come from Quigos, a large tundra planet. They're new to the galaxy. We're also, curious and really good at learning." Her lavender eyes landlanded on a protocol droid shuffling along not to far away. The excitement she held a moment ago seemed to drain away some. Tika looked back up at Sabine and spoke in a low voice. "Quiglings don't like droids or anything like them. Tika's people were almost driven extinct during the Machine Fall. A great terraforming machine landed on Quigos to transform the planet. Said Quiglings wouldn't survive the new environment. So it created droids to wipe us out."

“Quigos,” Sabine echoed quietly. Yes, now that she thought of it, that world wasn't far off from Silver space. She listened intently, a soft smile on her face. A hunter? Well, now... her other padawan learner was also quite a hunter. And, it seemed that both of her padawans came from cold worlds. Sabine almost shivered at the thought.

However, she heard the shift in Tika's voice, the cheerful tone turning low. Sabine glanced over her shoulder, spotting the droid. She could feel the apprehension emanating from Tika. Her brows rose slightly as she continued to listen. “Oh, my...” She started, “I am very sorry to hear that.”

She blinked, and bowed her head solemnly for a moment.

“We do have some droids, as you have seen – but I can assure you that they mean no harm. But, you're more than welcome to keep your distance, no need to rush things.” Sabine said, offering an encouraging smile. “What do you know of the force, Tika?” She asked, changing the subject. “How did you discover that you were force-sensitive?”

Tika tipped her head some as Sabine gave her apologies for what happened to Tika's kind. Sure she was okay with the sympathy, but it was something she didn't like dwelling on.

Her gaze turned upward when Sabine mentioned that there were some droids around the facility. Tika had expected that and was also grateful that she didn't have to interact with them right away. Maybe even longer if she wanted to.

Sabine's next questions made the Quigling pause and think for a moment. "Tika has very little knowledge of the force. Only what she has read in books and heard in stories. As for when this one found out that she could use the force." She narrowed her eyes as she thought for a moment. Then it came to her as she looked up at Sabine excitedly. "Tika was about ten. She made a one of her mother's books levitate. Then several other small things. Sometimes this one could sense when bad things were going to happen before the did."
