OPERATION BRIEF​

GADF CLEARANCE 3 ONLY​

Operation MacGuffin is the first serious offensive mission of the GADF. Whilst we do not have the military power to displace the Final Order from a system, it has been decided that now is the time to start conducting surgical strikes to limit their ability to carry out offensive operations.

The overall goal of this operation is to destroy a First Order heavy freighter and remove an artefact from the hands of their Sith Cabal.

Supreme Commander Nemo Van is personally going to run this operation from the bridge of the ANS Hope, the largest ship in the Alliance fleet. An offensive fleet is going to jump into the Javin system and engage torpedo satellites near the edge.

It is hoped that this will draw the ISD Imperious out to engage our fleet. When this is achieved our pilots will enact a risk maneuver, jumping deep into the system. The heavy freighter containing military supplies is almost two kilometers long and even undefended has a defensive grid of quad lasers to avoid. It is likely to still be escorted by First Order TIE Fighters. Strip it of defensive weapons and destroy it. The overall plan is shown in three phases below.

Several shuttles will be escorted by the fighters. The target of our New Jedi Order and special forces is a Sith temple on the surface. It is unclear what our elite team will be facing, but sliced civilian satellite images from several months ago show signs of a square ziggurat under construction. Retrieve the artefact.

The Hope will only be able to last twenty minutes or so in a direct confrontation. Supreme Commander Van hopes to draw out the conflict as long as possible but time is going to be limited. If the Jedi do not return from the temple once the retreat is called, they shall be left behind.

These two targets are believed to be critical to the plans of the First Order to mount an offensive against the Alliance. Their plans could be delayed by as much as three months if the Operation is successful. This is our first major operation and is a high risk-high reward endeavour. Roth will be flying escort to the freighter with the Jedi and then, depending on how things go, either disembark to join them or wheel back around to cover the Hope.

Serenity started to descend over Voidstalker as they neared the landing zone. With the shuttle ride clear, they’d be engaging the Sith soon. He’d been on so many battlefields, across each corner of the Galaxy. However, something started to damage that calm. Seeking tendrils probed at the edge of his mental influence, pressing against his thoughts.

The Dark Side

Its presence was all too tangible and it took no minor effort to push it back. “We’re at the right place,” he mumbled to himself. There was a thud as they hit the ground, the rear doors snapped open.

He was through them in a moment, reaching out with his senses as he walked across the grass. There was no need to pause and check his orientation against the maps. The Sith Temple was a beacon he could all too easily sense. The Force warned him before he saw the fleeting white shape in the treeline. Taking a knee, he shouldered his CC-13 rifle and fired. Smoke was thrown up where his blaster bolts struck the ground and trees, but the Stormtrooper he had seen was already in cover. A blaster bolt came at them from the other direction.

“One fire team ahead, one to our left!” he called out, still putting down fire with his rifle to keep the group ahead of them pinned. They were still a few hundred metres from the temple, but it seemed there was a small complement of Stormtrooper guards to get through first.
