A New Path - Rise of The Dark Jedi Order

The call had gone out to those worthy of the honor. One man was determined to reunite his family and restore his home. To do this a new order had to be made. This order would be different from the Sith and the Jedi because they wouldn't waste time with ideologies and the so called "will" of the Force. The Force was a tool to be used for whatever a person needed in life. There was no afterlife in the Force. When a person died they were gone so they may as well live their best life and fulfill all their goals. This is what the Dark Jedi believed and this is the foundation upon which the new order would be built. The Dark Jedi Order would be a loose connection of both light and dark Force users who worked together for a place of kinship and allies. They did not claim power the way the Sith did, and they did not restrict themselves and fight for hypocritical governments the way the Jedi did. This would be a group of people who would pursue their own desires in life, and use the Force to do so.

The Temple of Shadows was located on Ilum at the base of jagged and dangerous cliffs. To prove worth those called would have to make it to the Temple and only then would they be allowed to enter. With a loud creak the doors opened and a shadowy figure waited to greet the first wave of recruits to the newly founded Dark Jedi Order.

Objective 1: The Students Assemble

The room was dark and the stone floors were cold. The wind outside was howling, creating a weird echo throughout the Temple. A dark woman stood waiting for the students to join her. Here she would tell them what lay ahead, but only after they presented the ruby from the map they had been given. Only those worthy would be allowed to join. Any deemed unfit would be executed.

Objective 2: Mind Tricking A Jedi

Deep within the Temple of Shadows Katarine Ryiah was in a cell. Her legs were curled up and her head rested on her knees. She'd lost track of how long she had been imprisoned. The woman was detoxing from her recent exposure to the darkside, which effected her like a drug. She was shivering slightly and waiting for the owner of the footsteps she heard coming towards the cell.

Objective 1: Student's assemble

An ice cold feeling, snow sticking to his face and becoming pillars of ice. The dangerous creatures who were roaming around the planet of Ilum. This was the second challenge for the young Zen Phoenix. He was prepped for it as well as humanly possible for a kid his age, really thick clothing and a touch of the force. A man that had descended on him in a spaceship and gave him a start in his development to becoming a force user. A start to forge him into something greater than a Jedi or a Sith, but more important a family would be gained. He needed to do one thing in this trial...

Survive...
(
(This will be typed out in another thread))
Zen had survived the challenges and had entered the temple of The Dark Jedi Order with a group of initiates. His face covered in snow, his body shivering while his Vornskr was still standing strong next to him. Their eyes made contact with each other and Ruby the Vornskr stood in between his legs being highly protective of her owner. The darkside radiated from the Vornskr, but the child was rather lightsided. The Vornskr was a Sithspawn created by his father. It was the guard dog of Zen. The large door opened of the temple and in Zen's right hand showed the map with the ruby. "We made it, Ruby" He spoke with constant shivering in his voice as he presented the evidence of his first trial.

Ready, Aim, Fire... This was a feeling that Lunasi Vizsla had every single time. It was a feeling that caused a confliction in her heart. She held her sniper rifle and aimed upon her target. She pulled the trigger, bang, bang, bang. Target down... were the thoughts that were dwelling in her mind while her connections to this thoughts were not making any sense. She was wounded before an incident, but had no clue on how the dots come together. She dwelled through the cliffs, following the map to certain dead ends before heading back. The days on Ilum were cold, but her survival instincts helped her to get finally at the entrance of the Dark Jedi Order.

The doors to the temple opened and she showed the evidence of the trial from before, the map with the ruby.

Aeron stood among the group of hopeful initiates, a male in his early twenties and someone who had nothing tying him to the greater Galaxy beyond Ilum. The last few years had been grueling, his forced departure from his home-world during his mid-teens had given the man little choice but to fend for himself and learn to survive on his own. Added to this were the struggles of an unstable Force-User, lacking any training and too often finding himself at odds with authority types, it had paid off for Aeron to keep on the move taking one job to the next in order to sustain what worthless existence he had thus-far managed.

That was of course, until he had heard of a group that could help provide him with the means to elevate his status and means of living, far beyond the life of a lowly vagabond.

Among him were no familiar faces, and the call to answer had come with little information as to what he should expect from the group, let alone what they were expecting from himself. Aeron stood upon the precipice of events that would quite possibly change his life, for better or worse, though he wasn't want to blindly follow and he needed answers before he would willingly commit himself to the organizations cause. He had learned in the first year that nothing came without a price, and as appealing as promises of power were, he couldn't help but expect a catch. It simply seemed to good to be true.

The Force was as much a mystery to him as this secretive group were, it had previously only ever caused him problems and the first real incident that had exposed his Force Sensitivity had also led to the death of his parents, followed by his being wanted on Coruscant. To expect anything different here wasn't easy, though neither was living a life roaming from world to world with nothing more than the clothes on his back. He didn't even own a blaster or personal weapon to defend himself from those that had tried to take advantage of his volatile state. Hell, even catching a trip from one place to the next meant stowing away or robbing someone to acquire the credits...Naturally, like everything else in the Galaxy, he had expected that this group would demand something from him. He just hadn't expected it to be a treasure hunt.

Holding the red stone in his right hand, the ruby glistened before the dim light of lit torches, looking warmer than anything else on Ilum had so far. Finding the objective had required a means of physical prowess, though for someone whom knew so little of the Force, and for an organization apparently knowledgeable in such abilities, he had expected to fall short of the prerequisites. Perhaps this speaking more for his personal bias towards himself, than the expectations of the woman that stood before them all.

It seemed there was little left to do but to await her summons, and consider what it might take to escape with his life, were he to be considered unfit for whatever their purpose here on Ilum was.

The cold was only a small obstruction on her path to mastery of the Force.

When she had arrived on Jedha to find her own lightsaber crystal only a few days before, Ashelia had not imagined that she would find something far more valuable and significant to her training. In spite of her failure to find her own crystal, she had been granted another chance in the form of a series of trials given by a mysterious, yet merciful Master. If it had not been for her, she would have frozen to death deep in an isolated cave, her soul damned to serve the Bedlam Spirit for all eternity.

With her life saved by the mysterious Dark Master, Ashelia still maintained her potential and her unflinching drive to grow stronger in the Force. Ultimately, the freedom of her soul was at stake. If she failed to achieve mastery in the Force, she would be a slave to the Bedlam Spirit until the end of time.

The cold was nothing in the face of her indomitable will, which sustained her desire for power and freedom.

An hour after the Master dropped her off on Ilum, Ashelia managed to find a small cave where she worked to decipher the puzzle on the map. Although she was not skilled in reading maps, Ashelia managed to determine where she needed to go in a half-hour, with the aid of her personal datapad. However, the predicted route was long and fraught with potential dangers from gorgodons and asharl panthers. The last section of the trek was a dangerous descent down a jagged cliff, in which a single misstep could result in a potentially fatal fall.

Nevertheless, Ashelia immediately set off on her route as soon as she determined her route. The only piece of advice that the Dark Jedi Master had given her was that it was safer to travel in the blizzard, since most of the planet’s dangerous fauna would be taking shelter during the storms.

Ashelia reached the temple by the end of the day, having managed to survive the journey without any incident save for a brief encounter with a lone blismal. As the diminutive Initiate approached the temple, she unzipped her coat and pulled the map out of its inside pocket, along with the gleaming ruby which she nestled in the palm of her left hand. When she entered the receiving room, she saw a small group of people gathered before a shrouded female figure. With a few idle glances, Ashelia processed their features and saw that almost all of them were young. Upon seeing a ruby held in the hand of the scruffy-attired man next to her, Ashelia realized that she was not the only one seeking to be trained in the dark arts of the Force...

As the Sith Empire grew and drew closer to the Silver Jedi in their growing conflict Guduma was forced off his homeworld. The Sith killed his family and left him alone and fleeing for his life. He had to hide before they found out about his sensitivity to the force. He wouldn't become one of them.

A young man alone in the galaxy he'd had to kill and steal for money to live, even assassinating a few people for local gangs. A member of the Dark Jedi eventually took notice and after he passed the first trial he took the map and gem he was given and made his way to Ilum.

The cold of the planet was brutal, even with a winter jacket on, but he wouldn't let that stop him. Guduma decended the cliffs, almost slipping to his death multiple times, then he saw the temple below. He lept down the rest of the way and entered the temple.

He sensed the presence of others nearby, sure they could sense him too and made his way to them. Stepping into the room, he stood on the other side of [member="Aeron Delste"] and presented his ruby, held between his pointer finger and thumb, to the woman before them.

Objective One: Students Assemble

Anastasia was standing in the shadows. Her keen eyes watched each and every new recruit traverse the stone floor and present the ruby. She wondered how many didn't make it. Every so often they would comb the mountainside for bodies, or at least whatever was left after the wildlife had it's run. It wasn't an easy task to find the temple, but that was by design. Zedious had a plan and properly trained students were vital to it. Anastasia would see that he got what he wanted.

She stepped out of the shadow, though her face was still obscured by the long black hooded cloak she wore. "So... you survived. Unfortunately that was the easy part. You have been deemed worthy to join a new order, and you have shown your wit by solving the map, but can we trust you? Are you trustworthy enough to learn the secrets of the Dark Jedi?"

She walked in front of each of them, her eyes lingering for a moment on the beast between the young child's legs. "What you learn in this Temple will change you and bring you a new understanding of the Force. We are not Sith, and we are not Jedi. For a century we have practiced in the shadows. That tradition changes today as we officially open our Dark Academy. But we require absolute devotion and trust. Those inside the Temple will be your brothers and sisters. You will never betray them. You will live by the tenants of the Dark Jedi or you will be exiled to the graveyard."

She snapped her fingers and a man in black robes and a hood came forward, holding a box of syringes on a velvet platform.

"Do you trust your brothers and sisters? Can we place our trust in you?" She picked up one of the syringes and held it up to the light. It swirled both red and black, almost somewhere between liquid and gas.

"This is the poison of one of the hybrid snakes that wander this planet. It is a slow acting agent and its effects manifest slowly over a period of time. First it will attack your mind. You will see terrible things. Next it will attack your body. Your limbs will weaken, your lungs will fill with fluid. If allowed to continue the poison will kill you within three months, but it will be a slow agonizing death. Most commit suicide before the poison can finish them off."

She watched the fluid in the syringe for a while, lost in her own memories of the poison. Finally her eyes peered at the group. "There is no known antidote. Only by completing the training of a Dark Jedi will a person be cured. If they are not worthy of the training they will perish in pain. If you do not trust your brothers and sisters to show you the way then your death will not be mourned. This is an exercise of trust. Once you take this step there is no turning back. "
She put the syringe back on the velvet tray and nodded to the assistant. He walked towards the recruit, offering each a syringe, clearly indicating they were to poison themselves.

Those footsteps that Katarine heard belonged to Zedious Ryiah, a man she had not seen since her childhood. He rounded a corner and let his grey eyes settle on the woman in the cell. She was lost, just the sight of her told him that, but she was strong. He could feel her strength from here. He crouched down on the other side of the cell, so that he was eye level with her.

"I want to know why you burned down my home child."

Her deep green eyes widened in surprise. Her grandfather had left Aviprine when she was only six and since he did not remain in contact with the family they had all assumed him death. His oldest son Troy had taken over the throne and the villagers had mourned the loss. She had been at his funeral , yet here he stood in perfect health and strength. She could feel his dark presence from here and it made her head spin. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. For so long Katarine had been abusing the darkside because of the unique effect it had on her. It consumed her mind, made her senses spin, and gave her the best high of her life. The high was a way to escape the losses of life. She would not allow herself to think of Ellion and if her heart started that way she would take another hit of her drug of choice and spin down the rabbit hole. Nothing mattered except her next fix so while his question should have induced fear it only made her smirk.

"That was an unfortunate mistake. I meant to destroy your grandson, not your home." In the back of her mind where she could always feel her twins presence she heard the growl and her smirk hardened.

He watched her smirk and all he could think of was the arrogance of such youth. She was so young for a member of her species, and yet she had the battle wounds of a seasoned veteran. The galaxy was a cruel place indeed. "I see. Your own flesh and blood... and you sought to destroy it? All because of a prophecy that was foretold centuries ago by some old witch? I don't give a damn what destiny you have. Family is everything and I will not allow you to continue to ruin this one. You are here in the Temple of Shadows where your forefathers created an order of friendship and brotherhood. These walls have housed some of the most loyal men and women of the galaxy, an honor you would know nothing about. I have opened the academy to rebuild what you and my other descendants have destroyed. You see the world in black and white, light and dark, but that is not the way of the galaxy. The darkside is not inherently evil, and the lightside is not pure and void of corruption. This prophecy has consumed you, just as it's consumed your twin. I will not stand for it."

He stood up and walked a few paces. The crouching position was uncomfortable on his old knees. He waved his hand and the cell opened. "He's in the catacombs below the temple. End this feud now or I will let the two of you rot down there. Prophecy or no prophecy."

He tossed her lightsaber at her feet and walked back up the stone stairs. There were recruits waiting for him. By now Anastasia should have given them the test of trust.

She listened to the woman speaking as her eyes followed her every movement, her ears took every sound in. She didn't really know about the force, but the memories that were taken from her by Darth Vyrassu made sure that she was constantly in touch with the force. It made her the actual target and he was the one that first attempted to get her in a Sith Academy, but as no bond was created, the force brought her down another path. The force was carrying her to the Dark Jedi Order.

"I will pass these tests without failure. That is the way." She had spoke as she took the needle without any regret, fear or any type of behavior of holding back. Her eyes looked down as she injected herself with the poison. She felt it go through her veins as she made a fist and placed the needle back completely empty.

The poison would cause her to see fear, but she didn't remember any fearful moments in her life. Would it spark her memory? Will the poison cause her body to break down even more or worse become her death?

As a guard dog the Vornskr stepped up to the side that the woman was wandering. Ruby was protecting the kid. She was bonded to the Zen Phoenix. It was scary, putting poison in his body. He did it anyway as he quickly got over with it, by taking the needle injection and quickly injecting himself.

Zen closed his eyes as the needle with poison was injected by himself in his wrist. It caused his hand to pulsate for a moment, but it settled down right after. He placed the empty injection needle back and his right hand's thumb on the wrist of the injected spot. He pressed onto it, so it couldn't bleed.

Objective 1: Initiation.
xplTdlD.png
Aeron Delste had heard of many ridiculous things in the Galaxy, but injecting new recruits with a deadly poison upon their would-be initiation to the Organization didn't sound at all progressive in the bigger picture of things. Thus far the trials to be considered worthy had been light-hearted by comparison, yet even so, turning back meant the likelihood of his being killed in order to secure the groups secrecy and avoid further attention; Thus, Aeron had nothing to lose but to take the step and keep moving forward.

Reaching for the syringe offered by the cloaked figure before him, Aeron studied the liquid within for a moment before extending his left arm and pressing the needle against the inside of his elbow. It wasn't the first time he had injected himself with something that had the potential to kill, but this was specifically designed to do exactly that, and so the chances weren't in his favor should he fail the training that had been mentioned to the group.

Between the Sith and the Jedi, Aeron held no bias nor knowledge what-so-ever, their names meant little to him beyond the stories you might hear in the streets. Famed stories of more important persons, greater destinies than a runaway like himself. What was there to do, but to remain silent and play the scene out, intrigued for what followed this suicidal trend that they'd been coerced into following.

"I will pass these tests without failure. That is the way".

Aeron turned to look down the line of recruits to that of [member="Lunasi Vizsla"] for a moment, she whom sounded very confident for someone who had just poisoned themselves. That said, none of these Initiates knew one another from the next, no names nor familiar faces to gain accurate tellings of. Perhaps she really was that courageous in the face of death, perhaps she didn't believe that this organization would be stupid enough to poison their new members on arrival. Perhaps they weren't here to learn, but to serve some far more nonsensical purpose...-With too many questions and too few answers, Aeron remained silent and simply turned to watch the others, curious to see if any of them decided to opt out and try to leave without being killed.

Everything the woman said sounded all well and good, but then she presented the group with some strange syringes. That screamed red flag to his cautious side, but then he remembered why he came. For knowledge, for power, to never be afraid again. Injecting himself with a poison he could cure himself of sounded better than dying to his enemies or the Dark Jedi masters.

Next time he saw the Sith they would be afraid. Who cared if the poison might kill them. Looking around Guduma saw the other recruits were already injecting themselves. Apparently no one cared.

"Kark it."

With this in mind he took the poison and injected it into his left arm, putting the empty syringe back on the tray.

Ashelia was not a woman of indecision. However, for perhaps the first time in her young life, the diminutive Elzeri felt a sense of uncertainty at the prospect of injecting herself with a poison that could kill her over the span of three excruciating months. While she had already risked her life in fulfilling the Trial of Worth, she had done that out of a sense of obligation to a woman who had rescued her from a freezing cavern. The Dark Jedi offered her an enticing promise of power so that she could one day become a master of both the dark and light side. However, as of that moment, it was an unfulfilled promise.

The act of taking the poison was one of trust and submission.

Possessing no family or friends beyond that a few acquaintances, Ashelia immediately realized that she had never placed her full trust in any sole individual or institution. She had barely trusted Noriko Ike, in spite of the fact that the Atrisian woman was the only individual who had supported her in her ambition to gain sensitivity to the Force. If anything, she had abused the woman’s trust in order to achieve her own ends. When Noriko warned her to exercise caution in tapping into the dark side, Ashelia had simply rebuffed her remarks.

Her failure to listen to Noriko’s advice had almost gotten her killed.

The Mirialan Dark Jedi Master, Kuri San, had saved her life and set her on a different path. However, it dawned on Ashelia that she had made a series of nigh-fatal errors which had led her into the clutches of the Dark Jedi Order.

The pain of regret manifested itself on her pulchritudinous features in the form of tears, which fell unbidden from her eyes as she took the syringe from the hooded figure and injected the poison into a vein along her forearm. She wished that she had not been so stubborn, cruel, and unkind to those who had tried to help her among the Silver Jedi. However, it was too late for her to turn back and make amends. Ashelia would not dare attempt to escape now or perhaps ever. Even if they failed to immediately cut her down and she managed to flee the temple, she would undoubtedly succumb to the piercing cold before she could send a message for help.

Having just realized that she had made a long series of gruesome and irreparable errors, the diminutive Initiate wept quietly as her empty syringe clattered to the ground.

Anastasia watched as all the recruits poisoned themselves, or at least all but one. She tilted her head to the side to watch the man. "You are free to leave. But to stay you must pass this trial."

The rest of the recruits had started their journey. A door behind her opened. "The rest of you may enter the Temple. The service droid will show you to the living quarters where you may rest. We start early tomorrow."

They had shown their commitment, and proved themselves willing to do what they had to in order to be given access to the Dark Jedi Order and the knowledge that would be available to them henceforth. Training would begin the following day, and no doubt it would be grueling, yet nothing worthwhile ever came with ease in Aeron's past experience and this was the only way forward that he could see without linking him back to his home-world and a past he wanted nothing to do with any longer. His parents were dead, killed years ago but perhaps this new group would truly become like a new family in his eyes with due time. That much was yet to be seen, though time would tell as it always did.

Nodding to [member="Anastasia Darkrose"], Aeron seemed to be the first to take the step away from the row of students and towards the Temple entrance. He wasn't afraid to stand out from the others, nor concerned about how he might appear, like some did in the Galaxy. They had taken the first big step and earned the right to be able to step foot inside, and thus as instructed, Aeron did exactly that.

This was to be the start of a new and greater life. It was a path that he would walk without fear, without hesitation and with his mind set on the future. A future whose goals had yet to be determined, but would otherwise be an improvement on the meaningless existence he had come from before today.
