A New Sithy Identity (Discussion)

Hey, folks!

One of the things I'd like to do immediately as Faction Owner, is see what everyone is here for. I am curious to know why you decided to roleplay as a member of the One Sith faction, and let us know how we could improve that experience for you; or more importantly what ideas would you implement?

So use this thread to bounce ideas off of one another, and just be open about how you feel about the faction's current direction, and whether or not you're happy roleplaying in that direction.

It can be anything! Anything you want, but I do ask that this thread remains on-topic.

Never forget the Throne Breaker.

I joined cause the last Sith Order I was in broke from the Mandos, and I liked the idea of Sith working together cause of a higher power (Dark Lord and all that)

Made being Sith pretty easy.

Though I would like to see more scheming and destruction of rivals fighting one another like Sith would do anyway, especially since the DL doesn't care unless it screws with his master plan.

My reason for being here is something I keep to myself as revealing it defeats the purpose. What I will say is the Dark Lord is never present and things on the board seem to ordered and planned for a site called chaos.

I joined the One Sith because at the time I joined the site, they seemed to be the "big bads" of the board, and if you're going to write a villain, why not go for the nastiest, most malevolent kind? That was my thinking anyway.

As to where we're going? I would love to see the One Sith work to keep a hold of that "big bad" title. I'd like to see its members out there prominently playing that part, and playing it outside of invasions. Sure, doms are important, and we do need to work on preventing cloudbreaking, but I feel we may in danger of veering away from being the ultimate villains of the site if we're simply snapping up planets and not doing much else. I could be wrong, but that's my perception.

To elaborate, one of my favorite moments from One Sith history was when [member="Darth Ophidia"] assassinated the king of Onderon in a public thread. It was a very exciting, unexpected moment, and a very Sithy thing to do.

I'd like to see us getting back to that sort of thing.

To echo [member="Sage Bane"] a little bit, I think the Sith are at their best when they're the final boss of Star Wars. I think we should look to groom people for PvP, organize and crush skirmishes and duels, carry out objectives in other factions' territory and stuff like that.

Everyone here has made some very solid points and it seems a common belief is that the One Sith needs to spend more time being the bad guys of Chaos.

I can, at the very least, agree that as of late the faction has focused far too much on dominions and invasions that it has taken away from our ability to right stories, and perhaps even began to stress members out who came here for more than the map game.

I have experienced a similar situation during my time leading the Primeval, where the faction had just won the invasion of Ziost, and Wayland before that. It was hard to tell where we wanted to take the faction because we were so focused on fighting Mandalorians that we didn't really stop to think that we needed to focus on the Primeval's storyline, and that quite a few of our members hadn't much clue what the faction was even about.

Of course, as Sith, it's much easier to know what we're all about; we just need to make sure we're actually here to write Sith.

So again, I appreciate all the responses thus far, and it's definitely brought up discussions between Faction Admins. These discussions will include you guys soon enough. So expect some feedback threads, or maybe even a few polls so that your opinions can actually shape the future of this faction.

This is the reason I haven't been following the sith faction that much for a while. Also I'd like to see the strategic sense to some of the planet choices that we have made in recent memory.

As for the rest of you~ This is what it means to be Sith!
