A Pirate's Thread for me

Rik'Tani's looking for a ship, and a crew to call her own. Not nessisarily as a captain, but a pirate nonetheless. She's wild, unorthodox, pretty, and unafraid to try new things. Not to mention Force Sensitive and excellent with melee combat. Who wants the "pirate princess"?

Nah. I wouldn't know the first thing about having a faction. Just looking for a crew to join is all. And maybe someone to train me up a bit in the Force.

well, what species is your character and what faction are you affiliated with, if any?

If you are not affiliated with a faction, the Black Suns is an obvious choice. The CIS and Lords of the Fringe a close second when it comes to activities of questionable legality. Believe it or not, the Mandalorians are supportive or piracy. (kinda). Aeden is a pirate, though I cant recall seeing him do a heck of a lot of it.

what you want most is speed and stopping power. maybe a few boarding craft or interdiction options.

let me know what looks good to you and ask myself or [member="Ayden Cater"] anything. We'll be happy to help you find a ship that fits your needs. We (and likely many others) will also help you come up with customizations to make to your unique ship, or possibly help you craft together some form of unique prototype for your use.

Also, one of my planned projects for when I return more fully in January is to create a.... 'broken as shit' frigate that can be only be PC piloted and hand it out to characters that only want to control a single ship at a time. And make it powerful enough to hold its own against
numerous ships is own size or multiple larger ships... so that pilots and captains can partake in 'fleeting' without fear of being swamped by NPC's.

Im aware of a few freighters and patrol craft that would be excellent for a pirate to use as 'launch boats' for boarding actions. Likewise... I seem to recall a Fringe corvette that could shotgun interdiction probes (preventing jumps to hyperspace) and quite a few Protectorate ships that specialize in jamming Communications.

perhaps a unique ship that adds a few of these features to an existing ship?

Give me some more information as to the general theme of your character, some proffered tactics, and a general outline of what you want out of a ship (as well as corvette, frigate, or cruiser size categories) and ill fetch you some links to look over. If you want anything Cruiser size or larger, you'll likely need to join one of the existing major or minor factions and simply 'captain' a ship that is 'technically' owned by the faction and leased to you.
