SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Usually fitted with an A-MWD-1, Knockout Blow, multipurpose wrist device. For medical application, antibiotics, grappling and communication needs. Secured Holonet access, wrist blade and Echani hand signals function across the device as standard.
  • Helmet or Visors are fitted with a JSHP Jericho Standardized Hud Package. An Easy to use hud, tracking up to 20 targets. Distance readouts, personal vitals, communication systems, and sonic sensors. Up to 500 Meter magnification on zoom. Three Key TDES or 3DES Encryption as standard on comm signals. Three Spectrums. Night Vision. Thermal Vision and Regular. Sonic sensors give a 360-degree motion tracker on the bottom right of the hud, allowing for the wearer to see movement and perceived sound behind them without turning. Offering little Ion protection for the hud however, and it also lacks some of the more advanced systems other combat huds offer.
  • A SW-CORR Coating and Finish - 50% Anti-Corr | 50% Silkweed offers a stain resistant finish, with some resistance to stretching or shrinking to fabrics in the armor.
STRENGTHS
  • A light, flexible all purpose armor, which equips the user well for most average everyday operations.
  • Between them, the Hud and Multipurpose Wrist Device offer solutions to many common problems. They are good pieces of kit although not top of the line.
WEAKNESSES
  • EMP or Ion weapons badly effect the Hud which has little shielding to them.
  • Only provides an average protection against common weapons like kinetic weapons, frag grenades or a force user's lightsaber.
DESCRIPTION

Apex's sleek black security suit is appropriate for formal or corporate facility security. It can come with a duraplast black helmet or visor, and optional gloves for when it is cold or appropriate. Duraplast boots ground the wearer firmly in position, and provide some comfort with their silkweed lining. Comfort is beneficial for the many long hours security is often standing around Apex facilities.

As well as being lined for comfort and style. The armor is reasonably flexible given the materials, and has a lighter weight because of those material choices. It usually shows the Apex logo on the right side of the chest, and any other relevant details for that particular assignment on the shoulder.

It has to be said this is a snug uniform to wear and more than one employee has commented that although they take it off when they get home, it's nicer than most clothing you could be put in on a job. Designed to be well insulated, it's also cooled off by removing the gloves and loosening the large collar.

The technology built into the design gives it a wide range of potential uses for the security staff as they go about their duties. The medical applications of disinfectant and antibiotics built into the wrist device are of special note, given the sensitive facilities Apex sometimes operates or visits. Communication is also well covered, with both secure access through the Hud or wrist device.

Three distinct layers do offer somewhat more cushioning kinetic protection than standard armorweave alone would, but it's still not that impressive, a sacrifice for making a sleek design rather than a bulky one.

When one Fire For Effect employee was interviewed, they told us. "We never got anything this fancy. Damn Corpo's!" We would agree. Only the best for Apex Staff.

End of File.

Nicely made submission! However there are problems with the resistances:
  • Explosive - This is simple Energy, kinetic, EMP etc, depends on the explosion's type.
  • Cyroban/Carbonite - These are simple cold, so please merge them.
  • Sonic and Sonic Wave - These are one again, so please delete one.
  • And one small remark, you don't need to put the list to all of the averages. Sometimes the shorter list is better. What you're not writing to the list, all of them have default average ratings.
  • And I'll check the balance if you modified the current resistance list.

Hello thanks for the review.

Explosive:
This would be the difference between designing an armor to absorb shrapnel and impact damage, as opposed to stop a bullet penetrating. Extremely different. The difference between a solid flak jacket and a layered bulletproof vest for example.

Sonic Concussive Damage is different to Sonic Damage.
One produces a concussive explosive effect, the other is a direct energetic transference sometimes folding around a lightsaber, as opposed to exploding on impact with it.

Canon Examples:
Concussive: 1, 2 | Sonic 1, 2

Regular Sonic weapons are described as being like blaster bolts, as opposed to concussive charges: Here

So I have always treated them different in regards to how they impact armor for clarity in RP. With review the terminology on wave is now changing so I will drop the term wave.

Cryoban weapons draw heat out of an object. Cold weapons freeze the area around it to encase them. So again I've always distinguished them, because how they would be protected against is different. One would require considerable internal resistance, the other external. I've moved Carbonite to pair with Cold for further clarity.

Cryoban: Reference

On the Average Types, with respect I have always found it is better to have the bases covered up front than have an appeal on a RP post.

If necessary I can cite many examples with armors I have done with these values as they are, and I would be happy to discuss these further over PM or have an open factory discussion if that is preferable. Cheers MANIAC MANIAC

I can't speak about your sub in PM/DM, or on Discord, just here, in the sub. This is the rule.
In reality yes, there are difference, but not here. We're not make any difference between this. We want to make the ratings transparent and easy to interpret. If you really want to treated them separately, use the simple Sonic as main resistance, and add the rest as Sub-resistance, but only the main rating will count in the balance rating in this case. For example like this:
Sonic: Averge
  • Traditional Sonic: Low
  • Concussive: High
Otherwise, the Concussive is Kinetic in this case, just like the "absorb shrapnel" that is kinetic now, we're not approve any "Shrapnel" or similar resistance since I'm a Factory Judge (more than a year now).
And, you convinced me about the Cyroban, but not about the rest.

1) First. Understand you are great. For all the time and effort you put in to help other people. Thank you.
2) I've haven't subbed for over a year :D things change.

Sub Resistances are a great idea for ease of reading.
  • Kinetic Explosive Moved to Kinetic Sub Resistances
  • Sonic Concussive Moved to Sonic Sub Resistances
  • Weight Reduced to Light. Description and strengths altered to reflect it.

All done.
