Faction A Profitable Alliance: Meeting between the EOTL and the NHE

Location: Nal Hutta

A Lambda-class T-4a shuttle slowly began to make its final descent onto the space pad leading to a large and immaculate castle ahead. The wings of the shuttle began to fold upward as the hatch opened up revealing a thin Imperial Moff wearing a black uniform complete with golden symbols etched onto it. He walked down the ramp his hands placed behind his back, chin up walking with a straight posture. 4 Stormtroopers were behind him equipped with E-11 Blaster Rifles walking in unison with the man as he approached the Fantanna the Hutt and his entourage.

"Greetings almighty Fantanna," The Imperial Moff gave a respectful bow to the Hutt while not breaking eyesight of him. "I am Grand Moff Meanek Bral representing the Empire of the Lost. I am honored to be at your..... humble abode."

Meanek gave a small smile as he rose up. "My colleagues will be arriving soon," he added. "In the meantime, shall we discuss business?"

With eyes like swollen orbs, they cast a glance towards the polluted heavens as a Lambda-class T-4a shuttle gracefully descended onto the expansive landing platform nestled within the front courtyard of the Urdosh Estate. Upon closer inspection, faint markings adorned the shuttle's wings, unmistakably indicating its affiliation with the Empire of the Lost, bearing the Imperial Insignia.

These markings bore a striking resemblance to those of the New Imperial Order turned Empire, which had once reigned as the legitimate imperial government until their downfall during the tumultuous Current Chaos Era of 900 ABY. The Hutt Cartels had been approached by the New Imperial Regime, seeking to forge an alliance reminiscent of the one they had with the Galactic Empire under the rule of Emperor Palpatine, centuries ago.

Fantanna Urdosh, the esteemed ruler of Quesh, Bossban of unparalleled perfection, eagerly anticipated the arrival of the Imperial Delegation. As the Lost Imperials advanced to meet him, the Cartel Entourage, consisting of the mighty Hutt Lorda, was ready to receive them. Standing by their side was the formidable GYI Information Analysis Droid, ensuring that every detail was meticulously analyzed.

To ensure the safety of the delegation, a full regiment of NS-7 Guardian Droids, though considered outdated by galactic standards, stood tall and vigilant. These loyal protectors, hailing from the ancient Era of the Old Republic, were more than capable of thwarting any audacious raids launched by the Evocii Natives, who dared challenge their rightful masters.

Meanek Bral, the Grand Moff, made quite the entrance with his eccentric attire, seemingly more suited for entertaining nobility from remote planets rather than a dignitary representing the Hutt Cartels. The Imperial Official, accustomed to brutish and sleek architectural designs, couldn't help but cast a bored glance at the Swampy Estate.

It was evident that the Hutt Architecture didn't appeal to the Imperial's refined taste. In an attempt to maintain politeness, Fantanna offered a brief bow, although he knew well that the Imperial and the Hutts were far from being on equal social footing especially on the Capital World of Nal Hutta.

<<In the world of business, even the most pressing matters can wait when it comes to satisfying our basic needs. After all, you are my honored guests for the evening and so I shall host a feast for your enjoyment>> The Bossban's gruff tone resonated with authority as they addressed the Grand Moff. It was clear that discussing matters of great importance on an empty stomach was out of the question. Therefore, the Hutt Lorda graciously offered to host a lavish feast in honor of their arrival.

The Hutts disgusted me. No power in the galaxy was seen to such a degree during my upbringing of the rise of the Eternal Empire from Kalidan. Such hedonism and arrogance was something we were raised to despise, and do everything in our power to do ourselves. Such a way of life the Hutts reveled in was anathema to me still. If they were not useful to outsider endeavors, I was certain they would have been killed off ages ago.

Such usefulness is why I came here. Due to having a corporation of my own, many on the Moff Council saw me fit to be present for more economically focused summits. It is most certainly true I know how to deal with coin well and good. However, more savory conditions would have been prefered. Making deals with corporate powers would be prefered, not this crime-ridden slug-like filth. However, they were rising in strength, and were our neighbors. While the Empire was sorting internal matters, alongside expanding to valuable worlds, it would make sense that we passified these creatures. Perhaps one day we would remove their stench from the outer rim where other Empires that came before us failed so miserably.

My shuttle would land alongside the Grand Moff, who lead this venture. Considering the Grand Moff's attire, I was reminded why I did not vote for him the previous election for Grand Moff of the Council. Upon landing, I had an escort of Iron Legion Ultranauts, and I made way briskly to where the Grand Moff and our Hutt host stood. I bowed my head slightly via deeply knodding briefly, before resuming perfect posture. "Moff Katherin DuPorcelen of the Imperial worlds of Desevro and Chandaar.", was what I coldly introduced myself to our host. My Kalidani accent, and the effect from my respirator mask, accentuated such coldness of tone. I would then turn to the Grand Moff, giving an imperial salute, before returning to rigid posture while alternating direct gaze to both the Grand Moff and our host.

Imperial scum. The words buzzed in the mind of another organic in Exalted Fantanna’s entourage. A Tognath, dressed in clothing more befitting a Tatooine saloon than the noxious swamps of Nal Hutta. Namok Vacha, a loyal gun of the Cartel, on loan from his patron: Krerzo the Hutt, of the Jahibakti kajidic.

The retinue of NS-7’s were likely more than enough to fend off a few fanatics believing themselves the Empire reborn. Silvery, insectoid cyber-eyes kept watch from beneath a wide-brimmed hat. He had heard stories about his people’s diaspora when the original Empire enslaved the Tognath

“Doth nesue.” His gruff vocoder hissed at one of the nearby droids.

He knew quite well what was at stake. The Imperials were attempting to garner favor with the Exalted Ones. Didn’t mean he had to like it. Plus, it would not be the first time that a Hutt business deal required armed guards. Nor would it be the last.

He was only there to make sure the other side kept thoughts of betrayal at a minimum. And to be quick shot if the droids couldn’t be.

Last off the Lambda shuttle was a large figure decked to the nines in heavy armor. They seemed a bit more on edge than the stoic and outwardly emotionless stormtroopers. Their head was constantly on a swivel, and periodically they would bark orders into a wrist mounted communicator. Tibera was charged with coordinating the security teams for the Imperial dignitaries, and they planned on ensuring things went smoothly. Even if dealing with the Cartels was a bit outside of Tibera's usual mission profile.

Finally meeting a Hutt face-to-face was a strange experience, to think that these slugs controlled whole star systems. Surely what they lacked in mobility they made up for in cunning and ruthlessness. Was it really worth it to make deals with such obviously unscrupulous beings? Not that Tibera had any room to judge morals, their hands were a little too red for that. No, their charge was to keep those on the Imperial side alive, that would be the focus.

One thing became very clear as Tibera scanned the courtyard, the Hutts meant business. There was a host of well armed droids with them, albeit outdated ones, as well as at least one bounty hunter. If things did go sideways, this courtyard would become a killing ground very quickly. There was also no telling just what might be waiting inside the palace, probably a whole army of these museum pieces.

"All security units, keep your eyes on the droids and stick close to your assigned VIPs. We're the away team now, so keep it clean."

It was at times like this the Mercenary wished they could bring a disruptor to these meetings. One slugthrower just didn't seem like enough firepower.

Hidden within the intricate details of the Urdosh Estate Entrance, numerous crimson eyes peered out like vigilant sentinels, observing every movement. The Lambda-class T-4a shuttle gracefully descended onto the expansive landing platform nestled within the elegant courtyard, catching the attention of each meticulous system scanner. As the Imperial Shuttle's occupants disembarked, their identities were meticulously scanned and recorded within the vast databanks of the IG-88 Assassin Droid.

From the esteemed Grand Moff Meanek Bral to Moff Katherin DuPorcelen Katherin DuPorcelen of Desevro and Chandaar, and even the enigmatic Mercenary Tibera Jessen Tibera Jessen , every individual was meticulously cataloged. This valuable information could prove indispensable in the event that the Hutt Cartel ever sought to track down these notable figures to eliminate them.

As the Urdosh Kajidic's Hutt Lorda, Fantanna the Hutt, and the skilled Bounty Hunter, Kaweh Hujaan Kaweh Hujaan , made their way, they were accompanied by the Hutts Entourage. This entourage included a full regiment of battle droids, ready to protect the Hutt Delegation in case of any hostility. Stepping out from the shadows at the entrance, the IG-152B confidently approached the rest of the gathering, tightly gripping the trigger of the MK Sniper Rifle with one hand.

"Statement: Backup has arrived for protection, Exalted One." The IG-88 Assassin Droid stated.

The Hutts.

Zago had spent his life in their service.

He'd participated in wars between them, contests for wealth and power.

He'd more recently thought that perhaps he could become his own man, free from their influence. Free from their webs of power.
But freedom was more than a ship. Power was more than a cannon. And success was easier when you were part of an organization. And so Zago had returned to the Hutts... just in time to see them make a decision that would ensure their future decline and destruction.

He watched the scene while pretending to relax, unconcerned. Pretending to be a nonchalant enforcer, escorting more important members.

Everything was scrutinized in this criminal syndicate. Every interaction, conversation, and glance. Projecting strength and unconcern was central to success in such circles. Zago's cool reserve was as much a weapon as his blaster.

But that scrutiny went both ways. Those who were watched also looked back. Formed unspoken opinions. Made evaluations that were shown less brazenly than even a flicker in the eyes.

Zago knew there could be no long-lasting alliance with this Imperial remnant. The Galactic Empires of past and present were nothing like the Hutt cartels. They relied on power and control, and could not long endure any criminal group. Syndicates and criminal cartels were a rot on order, a splinter in the hand of control. Once the Empire of the Lost got what they wanted, they would gradually turn upon the untrustworthy criminal enterprise and try to sterilize it.

Even if they made one or more Hutts into Moffs, or gave some such position of authority in a new Galactic order, they would press so much control and take so much independence that a conflict was inevitable.

No... this would be an alliance of momentary convenience only, if it came to pass.

Then each side would have to find a way to extricate themselves without losing everything they had.

Could the Hutts pull off such a delicate dance?

Zago had his doubts.

But the Hutts had Zago.

So maybe all things were possible.

Skyria Kyrtan was the Imperial representative for Pakuuni to this meeting. She had traveled on her own and it appeared that others had beaten her there. She would not offer that up to her commander, but there wasn’t exactly anything that she could have done about it. As she walked through the “air” of Nal Hutta to the meeting she was shocked to find that the environment was even more putrid than she had expected. That didn’t say good things for the meetings as if their planet was this bad, she figured the Hutts would be more slimy and disgusting than she imagined as well.

As she approached the group of “dignitaries” Skyria was glad that she was not on the security team for this mission. Judging the possible threats the Hutts could present was beyond what military tactics had taught her. She wasn’t exactly enthused with being a part of the negotiations either, but at least her government and economics training would be of some use. Not that the Hutts cared about Imperial structure and such, but knowing what the results of agreements would mean to the Empire was key to making sure that Pakuuni and General Tane’s did not risk falling behind other territories.

Skyria approached the others. She recognized Grand Moff Meanek Bral from the briefing file. She didn’t know exactly what his politics were, only that he was a rival to her commander, so he needed to be watched. Moff Katherin DuPorcelen Skyria greeted with a smile and a respectful nod of her head. The woman had been present in several missions involving the Pakuuni portion of the Imperial military machine, most notably on New Alderaan. ”Greets all,” Skyria finally spoke a bit on the timid side for now, but her inherent confidence would rise as she spoke more. ”I am Skyria Kyrtan, aide de camp of General Teckla Tane. She regrets that she cannot attend in person, but I have been given orders to speak with her voice.” Every part of the last sentence was a lie. General Tane was quite happy to be anywhere but Nal Hutta and Skyria had orders to listen and report. That being said giving the illusion of power would help her be included in more discussions.

Grand Moff Bral observed the guests of the Hutt Cartel, he had to admit he wasn't a fan of the Hutts but given the Empire is barely being held together by a diversity of people from fractured Empires, the Empire of Lost needed to secure funding for their navy and army. What has the Empire become? Once they were conquerors with power that rivaled the Galactic Alliance and now, they are reduced to begging common thugs for money. "It is wonderful to meet you Fantanna Urdosh and the rest of your companions," Bral gave another bow. "We the Empire of the Lost are humbled by your hospitality and are eager to feast with friends and forge an alliance that will be mutually beneficial for our factions."

He gave a smile towards the Hutt and everyone else. "Now if you please," Bral said. "Lead the way."

The Grand Moff, after much internal deliberation, graciously embraced the offer put forth by Urdosh Lorda. As the Empire's Delegation gathered on the Capital World of Nal Hutta, Fantanna eyes scanned the room more clearly, taking note of the influential individuals present.

From Moffs to Hired Mercenaries and Enlisted Aides, a diverse array of characters had come to seek financial aid from the Hutt Cartel. It was a humbling sight to witness the once mighty now relying on the support of criminal entities. Nevertheless, they still held significant power and influence within the galactic landscape.

It's quite rare to find someone who actually admires Hutts, considering their notorious reputation for being ruthless and engaging in slave labor. However, despite facing active genocides and occupations from foreign powers, they always manage to regain their power. The Grand Moff was no different, as his disdain for them was evident from the expression on his face, barely concealing a hint of curiosity.

<<Well then, let's not waste any more time. Off to the Banquet Hall!>> exclaimed the Hutt Lorda with excitement, as the Hutt Cartel entourage gracefully made their way into the Urdosh Estate. They moved from the outer courtyard to the inner courtyard, and finally ascended the ornate ramp into the magnificent main chamber.

The lavishly adorned chamber boasted ample space to accommodate a miniature army, and true to form, four Isotope-5 Droids stood guard in each corner, observing the gathering unfold in silence. Despite being considered outdated in the vast expanse of the galaxy, these droids possessed formidable power sources that could repel any audacious invasion force daring enough to breach the Estate's defenses.

The Hutt Lorda settled himself comfortably on the plush lounger positioned at the far end of the grand table. With a flick of his plump fingers, he summoned the eagerly awaited feast to be presented. The array of dishes was nothing short of extraordinary, featuring delicacies like stuffed rancor hide, sizzling nexu burgers, and a myriad of other delectable treats.

<<Let us get into the core part of our business arrangement, now that we've had an opportunity to calm our stomachs. The Empire of the Lost requires financial assistance in order to ramp up their war production. Am I correct?>> A simple question posed, while taking a large chug of boga noga to wash down the food.

Both parties appeared to have ample security. The Grand Moff and the Hutt spoke dirctly after my introduction. All the while, more of the security details' members came to prominance. My personal detail allowed for an extra shell on top of the rest of the Imperial personnel present. I continued to stand perfectly straight, while the Grand Moff did every measure possible to appease our guest. The fact that a Grand Moff bowed before such a creature was utterly disturbing. Even if the Empire of the Lost was not as strong as the Empire much of its heritage comes from, it only made that standing worse with our leader groveling before a being like that of a Hutt. I nearly felt disgraced by association.

One last member of our envoy appeared in the form of one of General Tane's staff. After previously working alongside the General on New Alderaan, I professionally greeted the aid while not detracting from the primary conversation between the Grand Moff and the Hutt. "Pleasure to make acquaintance.", I said to the aide in somewhat hushed tone as to not disrupt the two leaders, "Do send the General my regards." I would leave it unsaid how I envied the General's ability not to be present. If there was one thing I would prefer not overheard for the sake of this Imperial venture, it would be that. A bitter taste would come up in my mouth as I ruminated on my actions mirroring ever closer to the politicians I dispised.

Eventually, the two parties would go to a banquet hall where a large array of Huttese foods were available. The table was laden with all a hedonist could desire, and then some, from how it looked. Since my injuries years ago, I still have yet to dine in public. I have attended my fair share of banquets, but have hardly partaken. I would not let the first time be in the presence of criminal filth. I merely sat by coldly, and stoicly, while the others indulged. I already had reservations on Huttese cuisine, yet my internal unease was only accentuated by the hulking droids that looked over us all. Typical of such creatures to display their power before others. Seeing such things made me more grateful for customs of Imperial society, particularly a lack of gaudy oppulance.

The Hutt then posed a question of why the delegation arrived. I was briefed to expect arrogance, and I had enough of the Grand Moff's pandering. I did not wait for the Grand Moff to reply, rather I would fulfill the purpose of my presence. "The Empire is less desperate than you may have been made to believe, Lorda Urdosh. However, the rising power in Hutt Space does present an opportunity for a mutually beneficial arrangement. Matters of diplomacy are tense with the Sith and the Galactic Alliance. Regardless of any lucrative arrangements that may be made, understanding of relations with a neighboring rising power is of importance to the Empire." I made sure to not insult our host, yet I would die before I grovel to a Hutt. Seeing the Empire grovel was something I considered anathema to the idea of being an Empire. I made sure to keep all unease and displeasure internal, only presenting a cold exterior.

Zago listened as the fencing began.

Negotiations such as this were always a contest. And the details could be as deadly as the edge of a sword.

The Lorda was trying to cut to the heart of the matter, but the Imperial negotiators were loathe to admit the extent of their need.

Perhaps this was less a fencing match and more a card game. And the Empire was making an obvious bluff.

To Zago, it was simple: The Empire was on a new campaign of rapid expansion. Consequently, they were spread thinly. Their supply lines were becoming increasingly vulnerable. Their forces could no longer concentrate as formidably in one location without leaving others unprotected.

So they needed help. Either raw resources, or physical allies in the field. Anything they could use to fill in the gaps that were forming in their expanding territory as they continued their conquest.

But what Zago hadn't heard yet was what was in it for the Hutts. The Empire was so busy insisting on their lack of critical need that they'd failed to put anything on the table, so far.

So Zago listened and waited for the first chips to be anted up.
