- All-round shield. Resistant to Energy, Kinetic, Sonic, Radiation, and Light.
- Electrical Capacitance chamber for slowly dissipating electrical attacks across the shield.
- Very versatile scaling. Can be fitted on vehicles, droids, buildings, starfighters, and corvettes. Easily adapted to any of these product sizes.
- Cost-effective and lightweight from the Duranium. Apex has refined its production processes to streamline and remove all unnecessary material.
- Forms blue lines and hexagons at impact points when struck.
- Simple design, quick and easy to set up, easy to maintain.
- PLA-CORR Coating and Finish: 50% Anti-Corr | 50% Plasteel offers a scratch-resistant finish, and resistance to the natural elements.
- Jack of all trades including electrical attacks. No particular weaknesses except Ion.
- Versatile scaling to fit many different uses.
- Jack of all trades, master of none. No particular strengths. A sustained or strong attack will bring it down.
- Weakness to Ion weapons.
As Apex expanded its operations into vehicles and starfighters, a reliable and flexible shield was decided upon to supplement their already existing product line. The first type of design went through several preliminary phases. Free models were given to its security services on Denon's corporate wars for testing until Apex received positive results. Quickly its own security staff has universally adopted the design. Compliments about it being easy to set up and maintain were given by non-technical staff, good news for those working three shifts over two jobs on nothing but stims and a prayer.
Using a scaling design, which has been balanced to work from droids to corvettes, most buildings and vehicles can mount one, this makes its potential customer base quite large. The sacrifice to this kind of easy scaling is having little special tech or fancy features available. Some genius from the Nayus family has managed to incorporate an Electrical Capacitance chamber that can be enlarged depending on the fitting. Other than breakthroughs from long-dead legacies with the occasional savant, no other system could be made both cost-effective and scaled so easily.
An unintended feature of making scaling technology like this was the external appearance of the shield, which has some interesting effects when struck, forming light blue lines or partial hexagons across the affected area. This doesn't affect much other than its visual appearance but gives it some distinction in its application. The GNN recently deployed this at the HNN's 1st Galactic Palooza light show to celebrate their broadcasting partnership, because why not look good while you are being shot at!
