A quick stop

Rocho hummed to himself as he watched the ship get refueled, afterwards he headed off into the nearby Cantina. He'd taken a stop at Sarrish. Not the most pleasant of planets, but it'd do. The people here weren't the prettiest bunch, but so long as everyone got along well, the Trandoshan didn't care too much about how they looked.

He'd stopped on the world along the way back to Ossertion, after a trip to Zeltros. It was quite the interesting moment trip, he might end up having to go back later because of it. But now he was just catching a drink, and waiting to make sure he had gotten all of the extra consumables that his ship needed.

But first, the drink.

@Uyia Wryss

The Cantina Rocho had entered into was relatively small, with a few groups of patrons here or there. Most would be the natives of the planet, huddled together and away from the other patrons. A few seemed to be travelers and scoundrels, coming from out of town for the same pit stop that Rocho had made, given that they weren't Sarrishian.

At the bar, conversation between the patrons and 'tender was occurring, mostly small talk as the patrons got more and more drunk. Mostly the same ol' story, though to the right end of the bar was an oddity: A woman sitting next to a Mandalorian helmet, most likely hers, though the rest of her body was shrouded by a cloak. The light did little to distinguish her features, though her hair was a shade of silver that shone in the light.

As you would walk in, she would take a quick glance over at you, before continuing her drink and food. A few seats next to her were open for the taking.

It was the typical scene one might expect in such a place, at least at first, he ended up catching sight of [member="Uyia Wryss"]. Who merely glanced at him before moving back. A Mandalorian helmet next to her. That was interesting, he'd met a few Mandalorians before, the Fel Empire was on good terms with them he thought. Or at least, not on bad terms with some of them. Adenn Kyramud was the one that came to mind the most.

Well, why not say hello then. He walked in taking a seat one over from the mandalorian woman, not wanting to intimidate people to much. Though, if she was a Mandalorian like the helmet suggested, he doubted it would. Trandoshans and Mandalorians were rather equally known for being bounty hunters. Although Trandoshans did it for quite a religious reason. He ordered a Corellian ale and then sat down with a grunt, before turning his head to the Mandalorian, "Greetings, I assume that's yours hm?" he asked rather casually turning around to lean against the bar, nodding his head as he was handed the ale.

He looked at the small glass skeptically for a moment, then chugged the whole thing, dropping credits on the counter afterwards and ordering one in a bigger glass, they needed to serve this stuff in full mugs not these shots.

The women would turn her head, looking at the Trandoshan and eyeing him up. Her eyes, green in nature, looked as though they were trying to pierce into him and dig around for more information. Her left eye would show a rather large scar going down it, contradicting how young she seemed otherwise. The tattoo on the right of her head would become visible as he sat down, a Neo-Crusader emblem burning up. She finally started to speak.

"What, the helmet? You have a problem with Mandalorians or something? Because we can take this outside if you do."

Her voice didn't show any gruffness, yet the tone was one of defensiveness and caution. Her cloak would fall to the side a bit, revealing more of her red armor. It seemed to be more than the standard armor of Mandalorians. She finished off her drink, calling the bartender for another, before returning her gaze back onto @Rocho

That was one intense look, she was interesting for sure. A scar, a sign of battle on a youthful face especially, and a tattoo, though he wasn't too familiar with Mandalorian tattoos so he didn't quite understand the meaning. Then she spoke, it was not aggressive, but she kind of still stood her ground. He held up his hands, and let out a chuckle, "Not at all. You make good competition when I go on a hunt." he said just trying to calm her down, although, he was certainly not opposed to a fight, more points for him, but he wouldn't start anything unnecessarily, "I've just only truly met so many of you, and most of the time it's for political reasons."

He chuckled and stood up taking a swig from the bigger glass first, then tossing his cape out dramatically as he realized this would be an amusing way to use his title. He considered the title itself an honor, but Rocho could hardly consider himself a Knight, he gave enough of a bow to look dramatic but not attract attention, "Magister Rocho Von Trandoshia of the Fel Imperium." he introduced himself but almost immediately laughed leaning back as he did so and setting himself back down on his seat, his dramatic bow might not have attracted attention, but the laugh did, and he apologized immediately with a wave, before turning back to the mandalorian with a toothy smile still, "Sorry, couldn't help myself, see once I go the title I can't help but be amused by the thought of the position. And the concept of introducing myself with it to others seriously just feels wrong, so I usually just go by Rocho. I was wondering, do you know an Adenn Kyramud? I know your empire is quite large but I figured I'd just ask, I've seen that one around a few times. Figured there was a chance."

[member="Uyia Wryss"]

The comment of competition made her chuckle slightly, she was certainly interested in the proposition. She herself would take a swig from her glass, watching the Trandoshan get up and start his dramatics and pomp. She kept a rather cool expression as he announced himself to the world, though she did raise an eyebrow when he did so, probably confused why someone who is supposedly important to an Imperium would go announcing themselves in a den of skullduggery and scoundrels.

As for the title itself, Uyia seemed rather unimpressed. She honestly wasn't too interested in aligning herself with any one group, thinking it a way to not make a profit being chained to a group. Still, she had heard of the Fel Empire from her runs as a bounty hunter, so she wasn't surprised by the naming of it in this setting either.

She did perk up anytime [member="Rocho"] mentioned Mandalorians, tensing ever so slightly and holding onto her glass tighter for just a second before letting go. It was subtle, but a keen eye would notice it. She almost raised her arm up at the Trandoshan, though she pulled it back down quickly.

"Adenn Kyramud? Can't say I have, though I....hold the empire in some contempt, so that would sever my knowledge base. Doesn't matter, boring story, tell me, what brings you to this planet? I'd say most people would be prone to avoid it, except on pit stops. I'm assume that's the reason?"

Rocho didn't mind to much about the people here, he'd fought worse most likely. And he didn't feel he was so important he would be a threat to the Fel Empire if captured.

The first time she reacted tot he mandalorians, he didn't really pay much attention to it, perhaps just a recognition. But when it happened again he saw it a little more clearly, he decided against mentioning it at the moment, and the reason behind it was soon explained though, as she said she held the empire in contempt. Well that was unfortunate, he was interested in how that happened though, even if she claimed it was boring. He had thought Mandalorians had some kind of strong clan bond or something. Hadn't really studied it though.

He shrugged with a nod at her question, "Yes, I needed to refuel, catch some extra consumables if convenient. On my way back from a vacation of sorts to Zeltros, a fascinating world I'll admit. The escapade was an interesting one. Not somewhere I'd want to live permanently though, not enough chances for hunting. Enjoyable, but I'm quite ready to get back to my usual life. What of you? Also just a stop or on your way to somewhere interesting?"

as he waited for an answer he took a bit more from the drink

[member="Uyia Wryss"]

"About the same, just finished up with an bounty. Guy had a few men with him, I simply lit the gas fuse and blew them up. Thankfully got an ID on one of the corpses, can't get paid without it. As of now, I'm open to new contracts, though I doubt you'd require any services from me, given your resources."

A bit of her gauntlet opened up as she would mention the gas she lit up, showing a small flamethrower unit. Her gauntlets in general were noticeably heavier and larger than the rest of her armor, along with being made from a different material than durasteel. She would look down at the now open to see thrower, glare angrily at it, before pressing a button on it and closing it back up.

"Stupid thing....gah, gonna need to do some re-calibration on this to get it functioning correctly again. So....finicky"

A bounty, expected, he had to nod to himself in approval letting out a hum as she mentioned blowing them up. Convenient way of pulling that off. Though, yes, there always was that issue of actually getting paid. A lot of people liked to not follow through, which he could understand, don't want to pay someone if they don't have any evidence. But still.

The gauntlet opened to reveal the flamethrower, a heavier gauntlet. He was pretty sure these were called vambraces, he'd never gotten to study them. But they seemed interesting. Though she didn't seem to happy about it opening up and mumbled about fixing it.

"Very useful, I've not studied these weapons of your but they seem fascinating. Also, just so you know, we do hire people now and then. I've been on a few missions myself with bounty hunters and mercenaries, so personally I haven't hired anyone. But that's because I just don't have any personal ventures that would require any." He said with a shrug, "Would love to see your work though, I'm sure the Fel Empire wouldn't have an issue with hiring you. Course I'm not saying that on official terms."

[member="Uyia Wryss"]

Uyia would raise an eyebrow at the mention of a potential hiring from him, although that interest faded when he noted it wasn't official. The thrower popped back out for a second time, which caused her to grab a small hammer on her side and hit the thing with it, which caused a noticeable DING to be heard throughout the cantina. The flamethrower finally closed up.

"If you are looking for the exact model, you won't find any. Created them myself, unique in all ways...including not wanting to function correctly at points. Thankfully not on any actual bounties, that would end poorly. There was that one guy...eh, doesn't matter, getting off track, you mentioned your empire may require bounty hunters? Why would that be, you've got a military I'm assuming."

She put the hammer back into a small pouch on her belt before she continued to look back at [member="Rocho"], her gaze once again piercing into him.

Rocho raised a brow as the ding rang out, glancing around to see who all had bothered to look. Just instinctively. Then an answer on the matter of the gauntlet, he grunted, "Ah well, still very useful." he said before taking another drink, and then she asked about why they would hire bounty hunters. And then once again managing to pull of a piercing gaze.

"Well, in some cases, it's just convenient. After all bounty hunters tend to have a skilled area of expertise, and if they don't think they're up to the job, they don't come. But I imagine," he chuckled and shook his head, "Well to be simple, to avoid loss of our own citizens is one reason. For Bounty Hunters, you pay them, and they may or may not die, but at least your citizens don't die. Especially I think this comes up if there's an unusual area which we aren't used to, there was an occasion once where a species we didn't know about took over quite a lot of ships, that was the time where bounty hunters were useful. They were used to experiencing the unusual, so they could go in with more expectations. And even if they did fail, we would have at least gained information on the matter."

He shrugged, "It might sound cold hearted for the Bounty Hunters, but at the time I hadn't been anything more then a soldier either. And my presence there wasn't even mandatory, I'd just gone because even then I was still hunting. And it was a fitting job for me."

[member="Uyia Wryss"]

"Not cold-hearted at all to say you care about your citizenry more. If I was in the same position, I'd personally still want to do my own work and such, but I see why you would use our services. As long as I'm getting paid, you can expect a job completed. Some hunters I've seen simply take the largest offer, before taking another offer from those they hunt and turning around, shooting their original employers. I shoot those people for sport, they are scum. Anyway, I get the point of using those who aren't apart of your Empire."

She seemed easily sidetracked, even as she kept a tone of holding her guard up. It's a weird dichotomy to say the least, having this almost scatter brained mind with such a voice and look of authority. She finished off the last of her drink, slamming the glass down and almost breaking it.

"So, is the empire new? Just reformed? Rebellion? What's going on in terms of your hold in the systems and such. Because any of those could lead to some sort of weaknesses you'd need to cauterize and fix."

Well that was good, she could agree on the matter of reasoning for using bounty hunters. And also bringing up a sense of honor, that was something important to him as well. Though to be fair he'd never been a hunter for the money, that was mostly a side effect. She did have a strange defensive, or perhaps guarded, presence. He leaned his head back as she slammed it on the table, not out of shock, just recognition of the noise almost.

Then came up the political question, he let out a bit of a groan, "I'm afraid I'm not too good for politics. So...I only have so much to mention, I know the Empire itself started quite a long time ago. Several centuries at least I think. Well," he moved his hands about suggesting a here and there of some kind, "I say Empire, it's called Imperium. Empire is just easier. The leader is the Grand Premier, not actually an emperor, a little more democratic, but he would have been the emperor, if we were still using that system. So personally, I'm a little uncertain on our exact definition."

He finished off his drink with another quick swig and then nodded to the bartender lifting it suggesting a request for more, he could handle quite a lot before it'd really get to him, "I am a Knight to be fair, not a politician. If there's a war or a fight to be done, I'm there for it. But I'm a bit more limited when it comes to the nitty gritty of debating and whatnot, sorry."

[member="Uyia Wryss"]

She laughed slightly, realizing her error in thinking the Imperium was fully controlled by the military. To be fair, it probably is, but high ranking officers aren't immediately politicians even then. She very quickly reasserted her composure, looking back at [member="Rocho"] .

"Well, every Empire requires an iron fist to exert control. Without that, the hand of silk can't do its job at all. Though who controls those hands...."

She would take a quick pause, glancing away from Rocho for a second and looking behind him, before continuing on.

"Well, the controller dictates what the purposes of the hand and fist are, as well as how much either should be used. Whatever the case, it sounds like this Premier controls both the state and military? That seems very undemocratic or even monarchical. Doesn't your Emperor have authority? Or even an elected parliament to debate and discuss, to try and equalize powers of the state? Because if your Premier is running the entire show, that could spell disaster in the future of your Imperium."

Her tone became colder and colder as she spoke, it was as if ice would exert itself from her person at any moment. And that gaze....oh, that gaze became blades.

Then, a sigh, as the tension she just created removed itself from her person

"Still, that is a personal opinion. I don't run or am even apart of your Imperium, so I can't make comments that people would listen to inside of the Imperium."

He thrummed his fingers on the table, nodding to the bartender as he brought another drink, and then continued to listen as Uyia started speaking about more detailed matters, but ones he at least understood. He let out a hum, apparently he had mis-laid it out, and he couldn't help but try and correct it. Especially with the intensity of her eyes constantly growing. "I apologize but...I think I must have told you wrong. I really don't understand it too well myself, but I know we do in fact have elections on things, and we do indeed have a council. Even if it was a full monarchy though, is that really that awful? Democracy and monarchy, and even full dictatorship, have all had their own times of flourishing. But, after all, if things go too far, we live in a galaxy of Bounty Hunters and Assassins. I think it's more like he has the emergency powers, as I believe other planets may give to their Presidents or Prime ministers, or however you call them. Like I said I'm really not a politician, I could handle small scale things maybe, and I could handle war, but all these political stuff just kind of causes an issue for me. I'm all for the leader leading both military and state, they're directly correlated after all. But...I'm a Trandoshan, it's in my nature to think that military struggle is an important aspect of any highly important persons life."

She did pull off though, mentioning not really having any influence, he shrugged, "Well that's probably true. Not too much reason for me to change my mind, and even if I did, I don't really get too involved in politics unless I feel it's especially important. One way or another, life goes on. My job is to do my job, going beyond that is optional."

[member="Uyia Wryss"]

She seemed to be interested by the long spiel, but considering how she had been speaking, it wasn't quite obvious. By the end, she nodded with the speech.

"So, there is some electoral process, that's good. I think that is decently important to a functioning system and.....give me a second."

She popped up from her seat, pulled her arm up as if she was aiming something, before a small sound almost of wind blowing or something being fired out was heard quietly. The gauntlet opened up partially at the same time before closing and her sitting down. A thunk was heard behind you, along with a gasp or two. Looking back would show a man writhing in pain, grasping at something in his neck.

"Eh, sorry about that, guy I shot a few years back still has people coming after me. They normally a third rate hunters looking for a quick buck...where was I....oh, right. Anyway, I do agree that combat is the only true way to show your potential. Anyone who only sits in the back commanding and dining and partying while their men die for them are scum. Those who fight with their army are the only true commanders and generals. They deserve to get power through their accomplishments, however that may be."

She called for the bartender, handing him a stack of credits and whispering a few things into his ear. He nodded and walked away.

He nodded with a bit of a shrug on the electoral process again, he wasn't too bothered by either the concept of hereditary rulers or elected rulers. So long as they did their jobs. However she then stood up, he glanced back as he glimpsed the movement and a flip of something moving before a man fell down writing in pain grasping at his neck, he raised a brow, an assassin she soon explained, "Intimidation or just not worth your time?" he had to ask in reference to whether or not the man was actually going to die or not. Had it been Rocho, he'd only have two reasons for letting a would be assassin live. 1. They were so weak, killing them would feel practically pointless. Or 2. To make it clear that he was too good for such weak attacks and those who did attack, would definitely end up hurt even if not killed.

But she did go on, well then, they could certainly agree about combat. Good! He nodded in agreement, "Well the Premier has seen combat, so among other reasons I don't know I can discuss, I believe he has been a rather sufficient ruler so far." he said simply taking a quick swig but watching as she handed the bartender some credits and whispered something to him, he narrowed his eyes at the man as he walked away but didn't do anything about it. He'd pay too soon enough, had to head out again.

He held up a hand, "Oh hang on, if you're leaving, before you go, actually. I think it might be a good idea for you to go ahead and come to Ossertion hm? I'm sure there's some job to be had for you, I'll have to check up on it along the way, but doubtless one will come along soon if there isn't one already."

[member="Uyia Wryss"]

"Not worth my time. Killed a good 10 or 15 of them, they all have the same speech and rant, so I honestly don't care."

As she started to get up from her seat, the bartender could be seen clearing the body with a few others inside the bar. She dusted her armor off a bit before taking her helmet and putting it on, looking back at Rocho. She nodded to him, starting to turn and leave before his offer was said. She turned back and sat down again, keeping the helmet on as their conversation continued on.

"See, now you've just told me something interesting. I am in need of a new job, so if you can get me someone who hires, lead the way. I do have one small question though..."

She coughed slightly, causing her to smack the side of her helmet a bit. A small amount of dust came out of what can be assumed as a rebreather vent that wasn't thoroughly cleaned

"Ahem, anyway...what is an Ossertion?"

[member="Rocho"]

That was a good amount of assassins taken care of. Killing that many people was easy, but taking on assassins was a little bit more of a challenge. Rocho hadn't had to deal with many sentient assassins, some, but numerous animals. He understood the difference between hunting, fighting, and being hunted. She did seem to be up for the matter. Before coughing and he grimaced as he saw the dust come from the rebreather. Oh that's not pleasant.

He put a hand to his face as she asked what it was, "Ah, sorry, I apologize, Osseriton is the home of the Fel Imperium. A planet on the outer rim. It's mostly where I grew up. I can get you the coordinates. And we could head out if you were ready and willing? My ship is fueled up enough and I I'll be fine on the consumables for awhile, I just restock as a precaution."
