A Quiet Night

Coruscant
Late evening

It was late in the evening when I had finally found a spot to sit, it was out of the way and quiet. I needed to time to think and really just play with my fire. The air was warm and still.
I lit a small ball of fire on the tips of my fingers and tossed it between my hands, knowing my sister was safe I had a little bit of a break.
Still playing with the fire I leaned back again a building and went deep into thought, thoughts about what it would be like not having to watch her constantly.

Being homeless was torture, but at the same time a blessing in the eyes of a previous-forager. Finding things on the streets was like an upper-class mission compared to that of the forest moon of Endor.
Whenever the young Ewok heard voices, he would roll into a discrete position behind a holographic projector, but at most angles he could probably be seen.
It was only when civilians weren't hurrying through this strip of platform that Mincaíkk noticed this was no nervous Republic worker. Instead a... magician?
Mincaíkk was confused to see a girl playing with a ball of fire, however intrigued. The Ewok found himself hiding once more, not out of fear, but out of a sense of espionage.

Coruscant was nothing like I imagined it. The upper levels of the city were nice to look at, but one could see the filth under them, hidden like mold under a floor tile. If Coruscant hadn't been the center of the One Sith empire, it might have been even worse off. As it was, there were towers that had very conspicuous burn marks on them, and I shook my head. On one hand, the whole galaxy was causing this planet to remain this way, since their attacks barred any reconstruction efforts, and caused further damage to the planet. On the other hand, the Sith had certainly caused much of the destruction themselves.

But why was I thinking about deep moral questions? I didn't know. Finally, my mind came to a conclusion I liked: I needed to find a bar and drink something.

Of course, as usually happened when I was about to get a drink, a distraction occurred. This distraction was of the incendiary variety, and I saw a puff of flame appear on the ground a couple of streets below me. That piqued my interest, since I had never met another pyromancer...

Gazing out over the planet-wide cityscape, the runaway Jedi let out the breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. This was Anka's first time coming back to Coruscant since that mass with the One Sith, and it was hard no to get emotional. She couldn't get over how... whole the city looked. It truly seemed as if the entire planet would fall to pieces, but to look at the state of things, nothing looked all that different.

Starting a leisurely walk along the walkway she was loitering on, the girl absently pulled her cloak tighter around her thin shoulders. It wouldn't do to walk about as a Jedi around her, after all.

Jordan was walking the dark night, covered in a cloak of black, more than likely stalking a target of his. Aatrox was with him as he creeped through the streets of Coruscant. He kept his head down, avoiding eye contact with any he passed by, but still able to see everything he needed to see.

He made a right at the corner and ran into [member="Selene Downheart"], accidently.

"My apologies.." he muttered quietly. "Should watch where I'm going more."

As I sat there wondering what I needed to do for the night someone bumped into me. Someone I had never met before.
"No, I shouldn't be sitting in such an odd space, I'm Selene." I stuck out my hand awkwardly to greet this man but out of the corner of my eye I saw something in a nearby bush move, but what was it?

I stood slowly and tossed my hair behind my back, tonight my hair was in pigtails, which was not odd for myself. I hoped when the man shook my hand that it was not hot from the fire, I had a tendency to warm my hands while playing with fire.

Oh, what the hell? Why not go down and see what was happening? I leapt down, my tail and coat flying in the wind. I used the Force to redirect the momentum at my fall back towards the terraced street, and gracefully landed... In a wall.

"Fething Coruscant."

I brushed myself off, and then I waved at the girl, who still had fire on her hands, and nodded to the guy with the weird hat.

"Hey, there. I can play with fire, too."

I blew on the sparks running along my hand, and my fire ignited into a wolf, which howled with a sound like burning wood, and then disappeared.

Jordan looked down at her hand as his lip twitched in disgust. He reached out his gloved hand and shook hers, keeping his face hidden by the shadow of his hood. "Pleasure. I'm ... Jarret." he replied, bowing his head slightly.

And then ... some mook leaped out of nowhere and interrupted Jordan's conversation. The nerve of some people. Jordan turned his gaze back to Selene and sighed. "It's awfully late. Shouldn't you be home somewhere?"

"Well fancy that, another fire user. It is nice to meet you both." IT was a lovely night to be out and about, though she would never admit it.

"I don't have a home, not after watching over my sister for so many years, I went where she went, and now I just wander until she calls." Shouldn't you two be inside somewhere?" I teased them with the question, though the teasing came from a slight feeling of loneliness.

Jordan smirked from within the shadow of his hood. His light brown eyes would dimly reflect the lights above that shined down upon the streets. He kept his eyes off the lanky, eccentric 'man' beside him.

"I'm what one would call a vagabond. I don't necessarily call one place home. That way, no one can track me to it." He chuckled lightly. "I'd be happy to give you a place to rest tonight, however. I've a place where I am staying for a short time. Care to join me?" He asked, offering her his hand.

I looked at the girl, ignoring the guy who seemed content to ignore me. Whatever.

"I'd never be inside on a night like this. It ruins the fun of running around, insulting the wrong people, and accidentally burning gangs to the ground."

I grinned, and did a lazy mock salute.

"I'm Mal, by the way. Interesting to meet another flame-tosser."

"Thank you Jarret, but I prefer to wander." I smiled weakly at him and backed my eyelashes.

"Are you sure you accidentally burn gangs to the ground Mal? Doesn't seem like that could be accidental. My sister is an Ice user but has no training."

"We should get together Jarret."

I gave the girl an innocent look.

"Of course it's accidental. I mean, it'd be a shame to see some Hutt's underworld holdings come crashing down around their head. A true shame."

I grinned evily, and my tail twitched.

"On the other hand, who can resist fried slug?"

Studying the nature of the interacting humans, Mincaíkk's basic position behind the holographic projector had been compromised.

Despite this, the humans that he observed seemed friendly, at the least. "Sku! Meechoo x'iutha treekthin!" Translation: Hello! I'm on an important journey!

Mincaíkk hoped they knew his language, or he would find himself stranded on these streets for many moons more.

Anka stopped as she came upon a group of people seemingly enjoying a personal conversation. The former Padawan thought it might seem rude to intrude upon it, so she carefully made her approach.

"Excuse me. I am in search of-"

Before she could finish, something small and furry began to speak. It seemed as though he had been behind a nearby holographic projector.

"Sku! Meechoo x'iutha treekthin!" It seemed to be an Ewok. She wasn't fluent, but she piece together some of what the little life-form was saying.

Let us see... "Sku" is a sort of greeting, obviously... "Treek" is to go, I believe... Does he need directions?

She shifted her attention to the stranger newcomer. "Are you lost, little one?" She tried to find some sign of recognition. "Do you... understand me?"

Watching, simply watching fools converse among themselves. Running their short meaningless lives scattering around the floor like the rats that they are. From rooftop no more than fifty yards yards away a large towering shade looked down upon the lives of these petty creatures. What it had intent to do within it's blackened heart was unsure, one thing was well known though. Whatever was watching them gave off a aura that was as dark and evil as the sith that had now inhabited this planet. By the shade's side within a black scabbard lay a dark blade that hummed with power, a weapon that was there as it simply stood atop the roofs of the skyscrapers peering and waiting for the unknown. It was a quiet evening, one that was rare for this planet. The speeders whizzed beneath the shade moving from place to place scurrying like cockroaches.

"Thou art fools." The shade hissed and whispered to himself, extending forth his hand the silent beast curled his finger at the potential blood that looked upon. He did not communicate with them or attempt to draw any attention to himself. The shade simply remained firmly planted on the roof. He would not spill blood unless it came down to it, he had a purpose here and what that was would all come to light some day. Some night, just not this one.

Lowering his hand the shade continued to stare hissing silently to himself. How he longed to jump down and spill their blood, how he longed to sacrifice them to him and gain his favor. It was an urge, an itch that could not be settled for now. "Soon my master, soon this world and all it's populace shall be yours to devour. Thou shalt be appeased." The shade spoke with a soft hiss to his words [member="Anka Revik"] [member="Mincaíkk"] [member="Malachite Avachei"] [member="Selene Downheart"] [member="Jordan Reave"]

Mincaíkk shifted his vertical view to the Padawan, Anka. Staring at her with his dark eyes, the Ewok wondered what business she had here.

He planted his feet firmly on the ground. "Ninga ninga, luu jeerota!" Translation: I respect you, beautiful friend!

Now the furry creature saw confusion in the girl's eyes. He tilted his head slightly at the sight.

"Perhaps another time. I must take my leave, Selene." He bowed before her before departing, having some serious business he has to attend to far away from his current location.

"We will see each other again" he mentioned to her before disappearing into the night.

"It probably isn't smart to just go around frying people now." [member="Malachite Avachei"]

I was surprised to see others show up, a young furry someone came up to them. She had spoken his language but it did sound lovely.

"Does anyone understand him?" It was nice to here a young lady helping him out, or trying to. @Mincaíkk

"And who would you be miss? Don't hesitate to speak up, I won't bite.." [member="Anka Revik"]

I was polite enough to bow back to Jarret when he chose to leave, "Have a good night and be safe." I smiled lightly and relaxed. Though the whole time I spoke and replied to others I felt a presence near by, a dark one. I couldn't figure out what it was though.

The Shade watched the woman, she was a creature of darkness. A child of the night, the shade could feel her from this rooftop. He could sense her anguish, her doubts, and her fears. They dropped from her aura like rain upon stone. Slowly eating away, it felt good to the shade. It felt as if she put a glamor upon herself to conceal her true nature. Then that's when it happened, a whisper shot forward to the woman. A whisper that she could only hear. "Child..." The voice was a low hissing tone, it sounded as if a snake had spoke it to her a serpant of the underworld poised at something that was not clear.

"Thou art strong child, thou hath fought and toiled. He callith thine name child. From across the veil he brought me to thou. Child of darkness and night, he feels you now. He longs to see thou, come forth child and all the answers shalt be yours." The shade hissed at the end of ots sentence and stood there. Statuesque and silent the wind rippled at it's robe showing nothing underneath it [member="Selene Downheart"][member="Jordan Reave"][member="Mincaíkk"]
