A Rendili Starship Will Improve Everything!

[member="Popo"] [member="Chi Chuchi"]

The expression on Camellia's face hid the high level of anxiety she was feeling. Of all the things she imagined herself doing, meeting with the Chancellor of the Grand Republic, with Rendili's renown Senator also in attendance, to discuss the potential funding of Rendili's shipyards, run by the Rendili Stardrive company, by the galactic government the world was a part of, was a little overwhelming. After all she was just a simple Captain serving in the military through Rendili's Home Defense Fleet, she had only recently taken hold of the company her grandfather once been in control of until his passing.

If Camellia was anything though it was a proud resident of Rendili and a devoted idealist to the work the world and its holdings had provided to the galaxy, including a vast amount of work in the shipbuilding industry. There was nothing more she wished for than to ensure that Rendili became a more prominent world of the Republic, to make Rendili Stardrive rise as a star among the galactic marketplace and thus aid in improving Rendili's reputation and status. It was a perhaps ambitious and fruitless dream, but Camellia even hoped to one day see that Rendili might become the Republic's capital in the future. It was a gorgeous, high tier, civilized, core world with many resources and facilities too after all.

However, all of that depended on how well Rendili and the things representing it could showcase the planet's usefulness and due importance. She would distinguish herself as an officer and soldier from her homeworld along with the many others of the Defense Force, Rendili Stardrive would make it bolster as a shipwright and make its name more common place, and its infrastructure and the Senator would ensure it grew politically.

As such a meeting with the Chancellor in his office about the potential for new and effective warships in the ongoing war with the Sith, would certainly be a good opportunity to showcase just some of what Rendili could do. Once his staff alerted them that they could enter his office for their appointment. In the meantime Camellia focused on maintaining her posture and composure, straightening any wrinkles she spotted appearing in her uniform as she waited.

In contrast to the Captain's nervous twitching and grooming, Chi looked politely bored. She was sitting in one of the provided chairs, reading one of the three-month old magazines that dotted the end table while they waited their turn to pester the Supreme Chancellor. Internally she was a bit nervous, this wasn't her first meeting with a supreme chancellor by far, but it was the first where she'd be allowed to bring an issue involving her planet to the fore and as nervous as she was, she wasn't about to let it show. If they knew you needed something it would be favor marker time, granted she had collected quite a few in the past but that was before the sith and reformation of the senate. Her political allies probably weren't the most reliable right now.

[member="Camellia Swift"] needed calming of some sort though, her fidgeting and military posture was starting to get offsetting. "Just don't make any supreme burrito or Taco-Cell jokes and you'll be fine. Oh and skip any flattery, he's heard it and it tends to trip people up if they get over-awed." Chi murmured quietly to her new acquaintance. Hopefully that'd get her to laugh or at least crack a smile. Humor had a way of relaxing people, she just hoped that it would be enough, she wasn't exactly as her most humorous with her own nerves on edge.

Popo set down his recent reports from Tenloss and Incom and put them in the top drawer of his desk. Things were coming along speedily, though occasionally snags were getting hit. All and all, though, it seemed like things were moving along just fine for the most part.

The Hutt glanced at his chronometer and then at his schedule. He was having a meeting with the head of Rendili Shipyards and the planet's Senator in a few minutes. If he remembered correctly, it was over new ships and the planet itself, though he'd have to look at the notes on the meeting again to make sure.

For now, though, he figured he'd just get to the heart of the matter. Both individuals were within the waiting room, sitting patiently. He quietly commed his secretary to let them in. Best to get started soonish on this sort of thing. Disc of Riches was going to be on soon and he did love his gameholos.

Camellia smiled a little at the senator's jokes. In all truth she wasn't very well acquainted with Chi Chuchi, in fact the young Rendili Stardrive head didn't know much about the Pantoran at all. She knew that the woman had served Rendili as a senator for a while, and was very good at doing so. A capable and skilled politician, someone who truly cared about Rendili and the Republic it was a part of. Even having been in the Defense Fleet for a few years and having reached Captain, Camellia hadn't had a proper chance to meet the other woman yet. It wasn't until she had taken charge of Rendili Stardrive after her grandfather's passing that she had gotten this opportunity to meet and know her world's senator better. Camellia hoped she would be able to represent herself, the company, and Rendili well in this meeting to leave a good impression on both Chi Chuchi and the Chancellor of the Republic.

In all honesty she was quite captivated by the design Rendili Stardrive was pushing for at this meeting. it would certainly be a great asset to the Republic Naval Forces, and Rendili's own at some point. Hopefully the design of the vessel they would show, along with a few other projects, would vastly increase Rendili's standing and reputation. With Chi Chuchi also taking part in the proceedings the young Captain hoped that would be much more so, especially if the ships being shown were accepted. There wasn't much time left to worry about that though as the secretary called both of them into the Chancellor's chambers.

Stepping inside Camellia tried her best not to stare or look nervous about being somewhat out of place. Once before the Chancellor, who would likely not have been what most people would expect though honestly he wasn't the first hutt in office, Camellia would make a military bow as she greeted the head of state. "It's a pleasure to meet you Chancellor. I am Camellia Swift, head of Rendili Stardrive and Captain in Rendili's Defense Forces. I thank you for the time you were able to set aside for this meeting. Hopefully by the end of this discussion we all find ourselves satisfied with how things turn out."
