A Report to the Chancellor

The Grandmaster of the Order had expected this. Treating the Black Sun crime Syndicate as if it were a legitimate government had been a courtesy, but one she did not see as wise. However, peaceful options were always the Jedi's first response and avoiding conflict with the Black Suns had been ideal. It was the entire reason that the Jedi had sent the emissaries on behalf of the Republic in the first place, but the Dark Jedi at the head of them had acted as any would expect.

As Grandmaster Selena was in a unique position to speak to the Supreme Chancellor almost whenever she needed to, within reason of course. As such, the moment that she got the distress message from Daella she knew where she had to go. "Thank you for meeting on such short notice," Selena said as she walked into the office of the Supreme Chancellor but that was the end of the pleasantries, for she did not even wait for him to reciprocate. "The Black Suns have fired upon our diplomats during the request for them to stand down during our future plans for the Empire. Their open hostilities upon our representatives is nothing short of an act of war, and we should move quickly to liberate that space and get back our diplomats."

Harkness turned in the chair when the door opened, he had made it a policy at least for officials to have an open door within reason of course. He was always welcoming to here the little people who the Republic encompassed and oversaw to get their perspective of how bills and acts affected them. Now though when he heard her words he turned in the seat letting the view being made from the window of the new Republic banner for recruitment within the military. Then before he could speak she continued. Something troubling to say the least but he understood the reason behind it.

If the Sun were not going to play ball then they needed to rescue their people, whatever deal the previous interim chancellor made with Domino wasn't something he was privy to it was something under the table but then that was how they had worked with her before. He would have to reveal that as he helped plan it. The cure data was more useful then some crystals the jedi said were not important. They wouldn't have agreed but that was even a couple grandmasters ago. A couple councils ago.

"If the Suns have attacked them, then I am sad to say we will not stand for it. I know your order Grandmaster works to prevent war but these are dangerous times. Take what you need to get our people back and show the galaxy we aren't going to simply snivel and roll over. Time to send a new message that the Republic is strong, that the ideals we strive to will not be simply set aside for a perceived peace. Coordinate with Cody Jorin and get all needed to handle these criminals."

Selena had come to the office prepared to debate with the Chancellor about action. In fact, she had even considered not even coming to see him but rallying her Jedi as best as she could and act with what resources they had. However, she knew that the reality was that they could not act without the full support of the Republic. Instead, she did not have to discuss anything. He had given her all the permission she needed. After a bow, she said, "As you say." Then she left.
