A Royal Affair - Mandalorian Clans Dominion of Gala Hex

Mando%20Header2_zpsj9eif2mz.png

Objective 1

Rakt Numar, an imperial officer from the crumbling One Sith Empire fancies himself as a local warlord of these regions. Taking a complement of stormtroopers and a small fleet he has taken The Spire as his new base of operations. Rather than deploy a large force and suffer high casualties and expense, the Mandalorians send in a team of highly trained commandos at night to scale the fortress and assassinate the warlord and his personal guard.

Objective 2

A royal ball on Gala seems an unlikely place to find a group of mandalorians. Whilst the monarchy holds no real power on the world, Queen Elan is still an important figurehead and diplomat. Mandalorians have been invited to a luxurious ball in the royal residences that overlook the rejuvenated city of Galu. Scrub up, drink and be merry. But not too merry. This many seasoned warriors have been invited because of a very real threat of assassination.

Objective 3

Vjun has been known to be a place of refuge for the Sith and Dark Jedi. Recently, there have been rumors of a Sith Cult worshipping several ancient Sith Lords and have been practicing sadistic religious methods for their worshipped gods. There are two major points of interest that have been located on the planet. The Château Malreaux and the Bast Castle. The main Mandalorian will divide up into two different groups and each will be assigned to whatever point of interest that will be raided. Leave no cultists alive.

Objective 4

BYOO (Bring your own oysters): If none of these objectives appeal to your eye, then bring in your own story and have fun with it!

Objective 1:

The wind howled fiercely as if cutting itself on the sheer rock faces pained the air itself. Davon stood fast against the high winds. They would make the climb a perilous, deadly endeavour. On the other hand they would mask the sounds of their ascent.

Davon took a deep breath and aimed his line launcher. Compensating for the wind, he gently pressed the trigger. It bucked against the seam of his shoulder. The line was almost invisible against the rocks, but his HUD highlighted its path for him. He didn’t even hear the sound of the mechanical grapple taking a firm hold and drilling in. His HUD registered that the line was secure. A repulsor powered droid was already scouting ahead and putting down more secure rings for them to use on the climb.

As for weaponry, Davon had packed fairly light. Hopefully this would be a short - if brutal - firefight.

Assuming they made it to the fortress and past the outer guards of course.

"What do you think?" Alkesh mumbled, while they crouched on the rocky plateau and watched as one Mandalorian after the other zip-lined over to the other side and the jagged-edge fortress perching on the mountain.

"I think we should have dressed warmer."

Vizsla quipped, while awaiting their turn.

A part of Clan Vizsla had gone with the vanguard- the most critical component of the mission, because it would be up to them to pave the way for the rest of them, preferably without being seen. They would make up the rear, not as critical, but dangerous nonetheless, because if they were made... all that fire would concentrate on them.

Alkesh shrugged. "Bit of cold hasn't killed anyone yet."

Their eyes met and then they chuckled softly, hearty chuckle, from down their throat and raw.

As governor of Azure, and now the owner of IGR Brokerage, Cathul was invited to the royal ball so that she could discuss the expansion of IGR in that area of space. Hitherto mostly an Alliance-based business, Cathul wanted IGR to grow its real estate business beyond Alliance space. Nevertheless because Cathul pledged to keep the locations in Alliance space intact, and the headquarters would stay on Malastare, she didn't face the usual accusations of corporate flight that usually accompanied such transactions. For all the GMLS' greatness to a realtor (Ugohr even went to M'haeli and purchase a failing real estate office there with the promise of connecting said office to the GMLS) not all planets would have access to the GMLS, and Cathul was to secure Gala's entry into the system. Will Cathul prove to be as good a realtor as Ugohr used to be, only time will tell. But Cathul's expertise with real estate mostly pertained to oceanfront properties and how much more expensive they were compared to other non-oceanfront properties, due to Azure's oceanic nature. Because she found impractical to carry a slugthrower at a social function, she would just keep her lightsabers holstered.

"Your Majesty, Her Grace the Governor of Azure has arrived" one of the royal valets announced.

"Send her in" the queen ordered, knowing that the ball was about to begin.

"Your Majesty, it is a honor for me to be in Your presence. On behalf of Clan Lok, I have a proposal for Her Majesty's government: IGR will supply access to the Galactic Multi-Listing System. Terms will be discussed in due course"

Mesh'la Dral had no idea how she'd been maneuvered into attending this shindig with [member="Lok Munin"], her mother's significant other's adopted son, but here she was all gussied up in a pretty pink gown on the younger Mando's arm. It was awkward to say the least.

Gods the aftershave the teenager had put on was way too much, and was he juiced on something because he sure had a bounce in his step she'd never seen before. Course the young blonde didn't really make it a point to keep tabs on the Munin clan deputy. Mesh's time nowadays was mostly spent chasing around her young son, who had just started to crawl/walk, and working with the Mandalorian Medical Corps.

"Hey… slow down, Lok. I have heels on plus a hoop shirt, remember?" she growled out softly still trying to keep a smile upon her made up face as the scruffy looking nerfherder practically pulled her down the staircase to the ballroom floor.

Now, Lok was glad that his adopted father had found love with Briika Tor despite what had happened on Velmor. Yeah, the teenager was a bit upset of his father's beloved telling him that he had smoke spice during the camping trip on Velmor's mountains with the Munin cadets which obviously resulted in being punished and disciplined by Vilaz. That said punishment was to cleanup the stalls, feed the animals, cleaning the house, and helping out with yielding food from the fields; however, he didn't discourage or tried ruining his adopted father's relationship with the golden blonde.

But one thing he didn't notice at first from Bree and Vilaz's romance was the fact of having a soon-to-be adopted stepsister once the Akaan and the blonde baar'ur finally tied the knot and married each other. Both Mesh'la and Lok were nuisance to one another as the Munin and the Dral bugged and bothered each other.

And now the he was to be Mesh'la's escort and pair for the elegant ball they had attended her on Gala.

"Oh, come on. I've seen gals running in those heels all the time," the boy answered back to the blonde's growling as the two descended down the staircase that led to the ballroom. "Is that much better, princess," Lok said to his pair and added notable sarcasm at the word "princess" as he slowed down for her.

The stolen black katarn armor may have been a relic but with new seals and a little solder it was perfect for the climb. His HUD picked out the line clearly and painted entry points as he fixed his harness and started up. The wind was muffled to a whisper as his buy'ce filtered the necessary sounds and enhanced the comm for clear communications. This was his first mission with the clans and a chance to show what the alor'istad of Clan Cholo was made of, he wouldn't waste it.

Hand over hand he began his climb while his feet braced against the wall of the spire. Lesser beings wouldn't make it, but they were Mandalorians and they would bring and end to this despot and his pitiful band before anyone even knew they were there. He could taste the fight already.

"Move fast Culo. There is blood to spill." He said into the comm as he moved. He wanted the fight and he wanted it soon.

"What benefit would GMLS access bring Gala? Also, Your Grace, isn't IGR owned by some Gungan Jedi?"

"Not anymore. His trial began the day where he sold the corporation to Clan Lok"

"I expected that Gungan to come here for that sort of business, not you. It's a surprise to see him having to sell the corporation: he treated it as his baby. But what did he do for him to sell the company? He seemed to be on top of things in business last I checked"

"What he did, had nothing to do with real estate. I even visited him in his cell, Your Majesty. And no, he didn't fall to the dark side just because he shot a tank round into a hostage crisis"

Probably Gala was out of reach of Alliance financial publications; the Alliance almost uniformly decried the sale of IGR to Clan Lok. And perhaps for good reason: IGR was one of the main financial corporations and has always been associated with the Alliance since it began operations; and Malastarian authorities even began the process of blocking the sale. It had realty offices all across Alliance space, ranging as far south as Elrood and as far north as Coruscant (and Azure all alone in Mandalorian space), which Cathul swore to keep in operation. And also to keep IGR headquartered on Malastare. Malastarians, regardless of race or familiarity with the financial world, almost unanimously denounced the sale of the corporation, especially since it was to become the largest real estate brokerage company in the galaxy. End result: Cathul will have a lot of work to do to keep the Alliance happy in this environment, but she feels the Alliance High Command doesn't care about non-combat industries as much as it would military affairs, despite undertaking the GAPDP, of which IGR under Ugohr was the single largest contributor.

Clan Raxis welcomed force users of all kinds into their ranks. Be they jedi, rogues, witches, or even a dark jedi so long as they would live by the Resol'nare then they would have a place among the clan. But there was one type of force user that was not welcomed. Sith. The members of clan Raxis had made it a point to hunt down and remove any Sith influence they could find within their areas of influence. So it was no surprise that when the clans had decided to take out a rumored Sith Cult on Vjun, he had made sure they were there.

Gray had arrived and brought with him a single squad from his Rancor Company to assist the others in this operation. He was outfitted the same as his men, but had with him his lightsaber and sword Calm. He watched they were inspecting their equipment and getting prepped for the battle to come. He smiled as they did this, his helmet under his right arm. This would be their first time fighting a force user, even if not Gray's, so it was understandable how nervous they were. He turned to his wife Star and said to her, " So you ready for our date here Beautiful? Might need to take our reservations back though from some super 'edgy' thieves though." He smirked and gave her a wink after he finished speaking. He just needed to wait for things to get underway right now.

Dresses. While she didn't absolutely despise them she didn't exactly have a great love of them either. Her first assignment under Clan Raxis was being in a dress and not in the armor she loved to wear, meeting a young man she never saw before as her date, going to a ball she didn't know how to act in, to protect a woman she didn't know anything about and owed nothing to. But Gray Raxis told her to go to it to act as a representative of the clan and to protect the queen's life, and she didn't want to disappoint him. She sighed and shook her head a bit to smooth over the features of long solid blue dress. Phislo quickly brought out her small kit from a discrete small dress pocket and set up the breathing mask with a vial. She impatiently waited a few minutes for it to warm up and then took the mask to her face and breathed several deep breaths. "Bitter as always." She disgustedly remarked about the medicine and put the kit back into her pocket.

She looked into the bathroom mirror and made one final check of herself. Her hair was braided up in the traditional Kiffar style like her father liked to do when she was younger. It might have been ages since her family moved away but some cultural things never died even as they began to embrace their new way of life on Concord Dawn. The bottom of the dress was roomy enough to take strides in if something went wrong and she needed to move quickly. A light bit of makeup assisted by Stardust made her features pronounced and maybe lightened her tan skin a bit.

It also helps that she got a few dancing lessons before the event. Dancing. That's something she never thought in her wildest dreams she would be doing much less finding a slight bit of enjoyment in. Strangely enough she did actually enjoy the lesson even if she wasn't the best at it.

"Okay, everything is in order.", she mentioned to herself briefly to try and shake out the pre-meeting jitters. She walked out to look for the young man she was meant to be accompanying to the event. Teagan was his name and he was also from Clan Raxis. He seemed like a nice young man from what Gray had told her about him but still she was nervous about meeting him. Phislo quickly scanned the room for someone matching the photo she was given of him.

Politics, the grand killer of everyday life. Teagan had lost his whole family to a single man making a power play on a planetary scale, and it seemed someone was doing the same here on Gala. His clan was running operations on both Vjun and Gala by order of his Alor, and it seemed he had been asked to participate in the one on Gala. It seemed someone was out to assassinate Queen Elan despite the royal family having little political power just to send a message, and that was all Teagan needed to know to offer his full support. It was one thing for someone to die out on the battlefield, but another to be murdered in their own home. That was how his family had died, and he didn't wish for the same to any others.

So here Teagan was standing in the bathroom adjusting his tuxedo for the big ball. He opened up his jacket, which was looking rather clunky, and two mimic droids came out. They were once scrap in a salvage shop, but he had managed to save them from their fate of being taken apart and divided up to be sold to different smelters. He had gotten them working once more, although he had to swap out one the eye of one of them with a different one that was colored blue instead of the red they naturally used. They floated up to eye level for him and immediately began to bicker with one another, like siblings. He said to them as he straightened out his jacket, " Blue, Red stop it. We are on the clock here. Go keep an eye on Queen Elan, and be discreet about it." The two little droids beeped their different confirmations and then took off to the vent to go through it.

Teagan watched them leave with a satisfied grin on his face. The little things were proving handy already and worked so well. He was glad to see them lively once more, and a little proud he still could repair droids in their state. Once they were gone though, he pushed his sleeves up and checked out his other equipment. A "Blast & Stab" was fixed to his right wrist as snug as possible so it wouldn't stand out, and one his left was a wrist mounted holopad that he could use to keep track of his droids and get their visual and audio remotely which was also snug. He then slide his sleeves back down and straightened out his entire suit one last time. This whole affair was a first for him, but hopefully he wouldn't screw it up. Last thing he wanted was to let the man who liberated his planet and took him in after he had lost everything down.

Teagan walked out of the bathroom and began to look around. He needed to find his "date" for the evening quickly or- oh, there she was. He saw the red headed young woman who had recently joined the clan had also been in the bathroom. He walked over to her swiftly and got a smile on his face that was as close to the kind his alor always had on as he could manage. He said as he walked up to her, " Firefly- err, Phislo! I'm right here." Whoops. He had called her by the nickname floating around the clan's troopers lately. Hopefully she wouldn't be too upset by his slip up.

"In the holovids you tend to watch way too much of maybe… Oh and I so know about that illicit stash of yours. You left one in the player when you babysat last," Mesh quipped with a piercing glance of her blue orbs towards the young Munin.

"Bal elek, vor entye, Lok'ika," the blonde replied after the Concordian slowed down on the stairs averting a disaster. She had attached the diminutive suffix 'ika on the end of his name that could translate in Mando'a to mean Little Lok. Mesh'la knew it bugged him to be called that. Her mother used it with his father's name, but it had a whole other meaning behind it; this was in no way that situation. This was pure sibling-like teasing.

There were couples dancing a waltz type step. Mesh'la wondered if Lok even knew how to dance. Maybe drink and food would be best for now. That way they could check out the environment and look for any possible threats. Rumor was there was a hit planned on the Queen of Gala. Tis why the Mandalorian Clans were present. Munin clansmen were at the perimeter in case they were needed.

"This should be a target rich environment for you… I mean with all the pretty young ladies about," she winked, then turned to the left at the bottom of the staircase. "I'm going to check out the refreshments. I've already spotted fresh strawberries on one of the food tables with whipped cream, yum!"

"And yet I would never imagine Mandalorian warriors doing real estate no more than I would a Jedi. Their ideals seem to interfere with that sort of business"

"There are plainclothes Mandalorian warriors here, but unlike these warriors there to ensure Your Majesty's protection, I am here on state business"

"And you haven't answered the question as to the benefits of GMLS connection to Gala's residents and economy"

"GMLS will allow Gala residents easier access to off-world properties. In return it will also allow off-world buyers access to properties for sale on Gala. With the collapse of the Republic and the One Sith, many will look to flee the Core"

Gala will prove to be the beginning of her business in Mando-land, her legacy as a Mando realtor, she who already have a lot of functions: therapist, medical practitioner and governor of Azure all at once. But because the Azure government technically owns IGR, by virtue of being the home base of Clan Lok, she had to treat any business with high-level planetary government officials for IGR as if official state business. Cathul knew that statecraft was a difficult thing to do, especially when nothing was offered as a prelude to it. She was most uncomfortable having to run state-owned IGR and Azure's government because she was in office for about six short weeks or so. But she knows that using the Force to do mind tricks on state business wouldn't fly here. Ugohr hardly used mind tricks when he was on realty business, and that's part of why he was well-appreciated in the real estate business. Now Cathul knew she had to do the same: whereas the Alliance was tolerant of Force-usage in various areas of business so long as the dark side wasn't involved, the Mandalorians are not nearly as willing to let slide the use of the Force in business operations.

Arla sat back waiting for the word, they were going to take out the self- proclaimed war lord and his personal guard. She was cold really cold, the wind seemed to take all the warmth from her dragging it out between the plates and tossing it away.

Small puffs of her breath formed and disappeared, "I wouldn't mind something hot after this." Arla wiggled her fingers her armor was doing a little a bit more work to keep her warm. Whose bright idea was this again?

They had a holo of the man, she assumed anyone with him that was likely his personal guard. They were all targets.

She carried her rifle and her pistol with her. Trained as a sniper she could pick them off from any vantage but it was a fortress that seemed to have lots of high places but only if you were on the inside. They could be seen coming for certain.

So, if you can't go in high, then come up from below. There had to be a way though she was trying to find a schematic of the place to see if they had any outlets that were big enough for her to get through. Keep that element of surprise.

Vilaz had a great of distrust towards those that called themselves Jedi, but he hated and despised the Sith and any darksider affiliated with them. Truth be told, he did worked with the One Sith in the past as a mercenary as he held a passion of turning the Galactic Republic into nothing; however, during those times he still had the same feelings for the Sith and their Order. He considered them as a menace to Mandalore and her warriors due to what those Force Users could do with the power of the Dark Side of the Force.

Which was why he and the Vanguard of Mandalore, along with other clans, had come here to Vjun.

This planet was known to be a place of refuge for the Sith and their ilk, and just recently there had been rumors of a Sith Cult practicing sadistic methods of the Sith Lords of old such as Vader, Sidious, and others that were long gone and dead.

Good riddance.

That was what Vilaz has thought of those dead Sith Lords, but now was time to eradicate their disciples from Vjun.

The dropships were nearing the landing zone that was just outside of the Chateau Marleaux and no anti-aircraft artillery had greeted them which would most likely result in a smooth and happy landing. "Stat close to me, cyar'ika. I don't want a Sith scum to lay a finger on you," the Akaan had said to his beloved in that private, encrypted comm channel that they shared with each other. The moment some hostile, especially a Sith, had dare to touch his significant other that stood right next to him on the dropship they were on was when the Cuir Rekr would go berserk on that person. And gods help that man or woman that attacked Bree.

"Alright, boys and gals," Vilaz began in the encrypted, public comm channel that he shared with the Vanguard, "I'll begin debriefing you all on the plan once our boots touch the ground. Y'all got that?"

Rooting out Sith cultists wasn't Briika's favorite thing to do, but she went where the Alor of Clan Munin traveled along with the Akaan's Vanguard of Mandalore. The seasoned Baar'ur always watched the rugged Concordian's back as he did her front. It was how the two halves made a whole. One day Vilaz and Bree would be more than just that, but for now it was what it was. They were happy just being together.

[ I always stay close, Vil'ika… And don't get all over protective on me now. You know I can handle myself. ] the golden-haired battle medic gently reminded the Cuir Rekr over their private, encrypted comm channel; his consistent concern though touching and troubling at the same time.

[ Roger that, Commander. ] the sliver-armored Mando'ad answered over the Vanguard comm channel, giving a nod of her helmeted head with the red T-visor looking over the newbies riding in the dropship. She'd never worked with them as of yet, and looked forward to seeing what they had to bring to the party.

Phislo scanned the crowd for her date and saw a young man come up to her in a tuxedo. She put on her her sweetest smile and strode forward across the soft white tiles of the floor as her dress slowly dragged its tail behind her. "So, you must be Teagan?", she said with a slight giggle in her voice, "A pleasure to meet you!"

He looked even better than he did in the photo and the photo wasn't bad to begin with. He stood about a head taller than her and perhaps had much broader shoulders. Not surprising really. She wasn't quite sure to make of his hair yet and hoped the beard wouldn't become an annoyance. "So, what do you want to do first? Or if you want to stand there and stare all day that's fine too I guess."

Anything, she guessed would be fine with her. She did want to enjoy the party a bit on the off chance nothing would go wrong and the Queen would remain safe.

Oh, who was she kidding? Something always goes wrong. Whether its blaster fire, poison in the banquet, or somebody's hound pissing where it wasn't supposed to be, something was bound to happen. Otherwise there wouldn't be fear of an assassin trying to kill Elan. For now, though, she just wanted the party to run as normal.

Sitting in the ship, Eliar glanced around at all the others, the smell of them still filtering in through his helmet. While many of the other, more advanced armour systems were able to keep everyone in a sterile, filtered environment, he had intentionally gone for a more archaic style that didn't harbour such systems automatically. There was enough for him to survive in hostile terrain, but he considered the inherent vulnerability to gaseous weapons and toxic vapours a worthy trade off to its strengths.

To feel the thrum of the planet beneath you, the purity of having nothing between you and your prey but the scent of their fear as they tried to escape you, to have the scent of the environment flow into your body and to become a part of it. It was how his ancestors had hunted and he saw no reason to break the tradition as it was what brought his people to where they were now. The ultimate predators of the galaxy.

Grimacing, the young hunter tied a small scrimshawed token to the haft of his vibro-axe, the first of many. Ever since being selected to join the mission, alongside the vanguard of the Mandalorians himself, he had removed all the old talismans he had wrought, the fang of the snake, his first kill as a child, a lock of hair from the first man he had ever killed, all these were in his past. This was the start of a new future.

Listening to Vilaz speak, he noticed the man incline his gaze slightly to the woman he sat near, and her shoulders tensed then relaxed slightly. Whatever it was they were privately discussing was their business, but it always was good to know about the connections of whatever pack you ran with, for that was how Eliar saw all those assembled in his dropship, a pack of hunters, ready to be unleashed and hunt the prey before them. He was practically salivating at the idea.

-Understood. I hunt at your call- he sent back to Vilaz, leaning back with his axe at the ready.

He could feel his heart pumping, blood roaring in his ears. Blood would be spilt soon.

"And what makes Your Grace think that Gala is the place to go for those refugees from the Core?"

"Gala has had depressed real estate prices, undervalued even"

"Wouldn't the Alliance be a better proposition?"

"The Alliance has no tolerance for dark-siders, and neither do the Corellian League"

For a dark-sider, since Panatha and Ruusan were not necessarily the best areas to go, no more than Corellia or Dulvoyinn, according to the documents the courts handed over to Cathul, perhaps Gala would prove to have better properties than Panatha, Ruusan, or the capital of the Brotherhood of Darkness. Or Jiroch-Reslia; however the First Order denied IGR the permission to operate on that planet. Would Gala prove to be more accepting of dark-sider refugees, knowing that light-sider refugees can always go to Corellia or Dulvoyinn? And yet Cathul could sense that the Queen had other plans, pertaining to real estate business, beyond simply connecting Gala to the GMLS with an IGR location. But once the assassins show up, she will draw her lightsabers. Without her beskar armor it will be difficult to her to block lightsaber hits effectively but still...
