A Saber and a Slicer

Veil

Who needs legs when you have brains.
One of the best things about Corascant was the fact that, if need be, anyone could hide there. The bad news was that the ones who tended to hide there were very dangerous people. For instance there had been reports of some unknown figure going around and killing people in the dead of night, out on the streets, in cold blood. No one ever saw anything and no one knew who did it, only that they'd used what seemed like a lightsaber as the weapon. While it was obviously a Sith involved, some of the more paranoid citizens began thinking it was a crazed Jedi at hand. Investigations were brought up, but anyone who got too close to the answer wound up missing. Anyone physical that is...

For some time Veil had been looking into these mysterious events herself, hacking into security cameras at the scenes of the crime and trying to piece together who did it. Often what turned out to be the problem was that the imagery was augmented somehow, so no evidence was ever clear enough. So it seemed even she was in a predicament. But if this was a force user at work then what better way to stop one than by using another?

When the next crime scene was looked into Veil had spotted a Jedi as part of the investigation. Obviously they wanted this case solved as well. Here was the perfect chance to try and get his attention and let him in on what she knew. She waited until he was alone before hacking a datapad nearby and trying to send a message to him that types itself out.

[Want answers? I can help. Meet me over by ATM two blocks away from here.]

With the Sith skirmishes as of late started by Krag, everyone was tense. Josh included. So when there were rumors of one on Coruscant, Josh personally made it a priority to deal with it.

He blinked as a message on his datapad began to type itself out... He raised an eyebrow, but shrugged and headed to the ATM two blocks from there. His fingers danced on the hem of his lightsaber, keeping his guard up... He wasn't dumb enough to fall for a trap. Actually, to him, he knew this was very likely a trap. Maybe it was by the Sith? It would save him the trouble of looking, after all.

Using another nearby camera, Veil waited and watched as @[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] made his way over to the ATM. she waited until he was alone before making herself known. A face appeared on the screen and, given how augmented its voice was, it was unclear if it was man or woman. The face itself seemed like a bunch of binary code all shaped to look like a face, even looking towards Joshua once it fully formed.

{So, the Jedi are finally sticking their nose into this business. About time too. For a minute I'd thought I'd have to hack my way just to get your attention.}

He yawned and watched the camera, not an emotion showing on his face. He nodded off as it spoke.

"Where there's a Sith on Coruscant, I'm not too far behind" he said, leaning against the post. "So, what did you call me here for? Is this a Sith trap? If so, just come out already so we can get this over with. Saves me the trouble of looking for you" he said, cracking his neck, still not showing a single inch of emotion. "If you're here to help... Show yourself. I don't usually trust computers"

{Oh Plase.} the face said when he asked if the Sith were involved. {The Sith WISH they had someone like me working for them. If I was you Jedi would be dead before you knew it. And I'm not exactly one to show myself. I made a very good reputation by staying out of sight. Kind of like your Jedi Sentinels who do all the shady business you're normal ones can't. Bet if you gave me enough time I could hack into the files and find the names of all of them. But look, the real reason I asked you here is because you and I want the same thing: whoever's killing these people gone.}

(Odd, didn't get a notification for this one. Saw it in the history for New Content)

He chuckled a bit. Ah, cocky she was. Or was it a he? He couldn't bloody tell.

He seemed amused at this thing's confidence. "So you want me to tackle it alone then?" he asked with an amused smirk. "I bet I'd be able to kill them a lot faster with a bit of backup" he snarked, half joking.

"Regardless, if you can help me find this person, do help. I'm drawing up blanks at the moment" the Grandmaster said calmly.
