A Senatorial Question.

In the rules of the Senate building it was agreed that every member of the Republic may have access to a NPC Senator to act in the background of Senate debates and facilitate as a voice and vote for that particular member on the matter.

My question is the nature of these NPC Senators, as due to the rather recent inclusion of the NPC factory section, I am left wondering if these NPC Senators are intended to be toss away figures that have no real prevalence, or if they could be created in the forum for use.

If the case is the later, than I question what is the Republic's stance on the following issue:

I create an NPC Senator that has been involved in several debates, and is repeatedly identified as representative of x planet. Suddenly, a PC character shows up wanting to be Senator of said planet.

What happens?

Thank you.

[member="Fatty"] is his own planet.

But on a more serious note, unless you're particularly invested in them (if you are npc forum them) just make a new NPC. Or alternatively you can make a minor character to do it and lay a more permanent claim to it.

[member="Chi Chuchi"] Well... I guess that makes sense. I think I'll start off using an NPC and see if I want to promote it to minor later.

But yeah, judging from how you said that it seems like an NPC would just be kinda, disregarded in terms of fluff.

Thanks for the info everyone. I appreciate it.

There are more than enough planets to go around, but that said I don't think major ones like Mon Cal should go to npc's anyways. No reason a backwater wouldn't work just as well.

I'll be honest, that particular concept hadn't crossed my mind. Mainly the PC-vs-NPC succession issue. If that occurs, generally speaking you would just swap to another planet, but if you've got an NPC through the factory, it's a bit more complex. We'll take it on a case-by-case basis for now until it becomes an issue. In the meantime, if that situation arises, speak with the writer putting the PC in the Senator's seat or desiring such. Try and hash it out on your own, but if you can't find a compromise or middle ground, feel free to PM myself, [member="Alyesa Praxon-Organa"], and/or [member="Kiskla Grayson"] and we'll take a look-see at it.

We will ensure to look at everything. There are so many planets with their own unique attributes everyone. So, please let this not be an issue. Also understand we all talk amongst ourselves so we will know if there is fighting. This is probably a critical point for us to ensure that we don't have any infighting. The Republic that is.
