A Strange Sight, Indeed (Scorch)

Coruscant was a very diverse planet. It was filled with all manner of strange and fantastical beings from all walks of life. One could find this on the streets in particular. But there was one life form that couldn't be compared to any other.
It was close to sunset, and the main street was still bustling with people who were either going home or spending time with each other. As the various vendors were closing their stands, a few would stop for a moment to watch a certain passerby. Why would they? Because she was a beautiful blue creature, appearing to wear no clothing, yet not appearing to need any. As the sun sank lower in the sky, some would swear that she was glowing...

"Look at that, Scorch." The woman prodded her companion as she stared at the blue being in wonder. What was she? They'd seen lots of species, and even a few AIs, but this was new. Could it possibly be another species altogether? Ember moved to leap down and get closer, but Scorch pulled on her shoulder with a shake of his head. Not yet. He often wondered what she'd do without him. Always so curious. You'd think that with the way they'd been trained, she'd be a bit more cautious, but no. The two had become entirely different creatures. Ember was the carefree spirit, the one that was more open minded. Scorch rarely even talked, as strict as he was to others and himself. Yet he'd grown soft to the younger woman. How could one not, when they'd fought for each other, day by day for years? Maybe he was overprotective, but it was all for the good.

SARI wandered further down the street. Everything about people here fascinated her. What they sold, what they wore. Even what they said! She often found herself stopping to pick up snatches of their conversations as they passed her.
All was going well, until she noticed someone following her. Three people with shifting eyes were tailing close behind her. It didn't even appear as if they cared if she saw them. Though they couldn't hurt her, SARI was still uneasy. She walked a bit faster.
She was nearing an empty stretch of permacrete when one of them caught up with her and blocked her path. The woman grinned at her.
"My my, what do we have here?"
SARI backed up, only to have two men grab her solid-state arms.
Her holo-projector droid was just behind them. If she deactivated, perhaps she could careen herself to safety.
The woman came up close to SARI's form, examining her.
"You don't even look real. Glowing and blue? I bet some people even thought you were a ghost..."
The men chuckled.
SARI grinned a tiny bit.
"That's because I can be one."
Suddenly, she vanished. She retreated into the comforting circuitry of her little floating droid and instructed it to fly as fast as it could away from these organics.
They weren't confused for long. They began chasing the droid down the street.

As the blue woman was surrounded by a few thugs, Scorch and Ember watched with interest. They grabbed her then, only to be confused as her form seemed to be retracted into a small floating droid. When it began to fly away, Ember spoke up again. "So she is artificial.... What do you think? Should we intervene? Scorch?" She turned, only to find her companion already on the ground, chasing the commotion. Smirking under her mask, she followed after him. "I guess that's a yes, then." It didn't take them very long to catch up; they were better trained than most soldiers, anyway. When Scorch made it to the first of the three, one of the men, he reached out and pulled him back, knocking him unconscious with a blow to the head. Ember kept running.

The droid was straining it's thrusters, and SARI knew that they wouldn't be able to keep going like this. She did her best to even out the power usage and make it last longer. It was obvious that the small mechanism was slowing down, however.
The woman, who was most likely the fastest, managed to latch her hand onto it, which wasn't helping things.

With Ember now in the lead, she ran up, trying to catch the woman. When she got close enough, she jumped and tackled her to the ground, her fist flying into the assailant's face. The remaining thug went to catch her unaware, until he was quickly grabbed by Scorch, who stared into the man's eyes with the glowing blue orbs that came from his mask. "Run.", came a low, monotone voice. As he set the man down, he nodded frantically and took off in the opposite direction. Watching the man flee, he walked back ver to his companion, as she was busy picking up the droid and dusting it off.

The droid floated away from the two newcomers. SARI was unsure what she should think of them. They had kept the others from taking her, but what if that was just so they could take her for themselves? Oh, she really should've told Cassie where she was going today!
Hesitantly, the glowing blue woman reappeared, cautiously eying the two.
"I'm grateful to you for saving us. I just hope you don't have any ulterior motives..."
She said slowly.

As the blue woman reappeared, the two rescuers looked onward as she talked. Before saying anything, Ember looked to her companion, who took a second before nodding. Walking over a few steps, she ran her eyes over the droid before looking at the woman again. "I'm Ember", she said, her voice taking a low robotic time from her mask. "That's Scorch behind me. Are... are you okay? They didn't hurt your projector, did they?" She took another glance at the droid, looking for any damage. Scorch simply stood back, his arms crossed as he kept watch around them, making sure nobody tried to get the drop on them.

SARI shook her head.
"We're a little rattled, but unharmed. Thank you for your concern."
She peered behind Ember, looking at Scorch for a moment.
"You two have very nice armor. Flexible material, yet strong enough to take most hits. Not to mention full HUD access. Very up-to-date technology..."
It wasn't a secret that SARI liked technology and mechanisms. She just couldn't contain her enthusiasm about it sometimes.

Ember chuckled at the compliment. "Actually, it's only made to look that way. We're working on getting some higher-class armor, but right now this is all for show." That earned her a harsh look from Scorch then. They weren't supposed to let anyone in on their endeavors. While Ember agreed, she wasn't as non-trusting as her friend was. She was a little more open, too. "What exactly are you? I've never seen an AI that was... physical."
