A stroll through a new home

[Milla Caranthyr]

Location: Mandalore, Australis Estate.

Nearly a week had passed since Milla arrived on Mandalore. A very busy week indeed for the young girl. From being slightly altered by Sith alchemy, to being adopted by [member="Cassiopeia Caranthyr"], she barely had time to wrap her head around everything that was happening. Today was going to be a bit of a break for the young girl, she was going to be with her new grandfather [member="Kaine Australis"], as he helped her get used to her new home.

Milla walked along the narrow stone wall that ran along the walkway of the estate. Her tail made balancing on the wall a simple task. She knew her mom probably wouldn't approve of her being this high up, but it was only a six foot wall. What she was really doing was testing out her new shoes, which seemed to being doing quite well. Along with the shoes, Cassi had to buy Milla new pants to fit her tail.

The young girl reached the end of the wall where a light post sat. Her tail wrapped around the post, securely anchoring her in place. Light blue eyes scanned the area as she waited for Kaine to arrive.

Milla laughed some as Kaine walked by her. Apparently she was more hidden than she, or higher up. Her tail unwound from the light post and she began to follow after her grandfather. After a short distance, she darted further down the wall till she was in front of him.

The young girl sat down on the wall and began to softly tap her heels off the ston. A wide smile was on her face as Kaine drew closer. "Hi grandpa Australis!"

Milla watched as Kaine took of his helmet, her blue eyes locked onto his. She gave him a small smile and nodded her head when he spoke. "I'm excited to have a family again, and glad you excepted me. Cassi is a good mom, she's definitely a little protective though."

The girl hopped from the wall and landed quite gracefully, given the height. Her tail swinging lazily from side to side. She looked up at Kaine with her sharp blue eyes. "My names Milla."

Family. Milla still liked the sound of that, especially since it was now her family. Luckily for her, she spoke quite a bit of Mando'a. She was a little rusty on the six rules though. "I really don't remember the six rules. I can speak Mando'a though! My original last name was Ordo."

Her blue eyes scanned Kaine for a second as he offered a hug. The whole family members wanting to give her hugs and stuff was kinda new, but she wasn't against it. She gave a small smile and returned the hug. Her little horns making a soft tap as they bumped into Kaine's beskar'gam. Milla looked up at her grandfather when he asked what she liked to do for fun. "I like to explore. Even if it gets me in trouble sometimes."

"Kandosii." Milla repeated. She placed her forehead against Kaine's chest, her horns making another soft clink. A smile formed on her face when her grandfather said that he also like exploring, and sometimes getting into trouble. This was something Milla was familiar with, since it happened on a regular basis. "We should. Although, I should probably try to keep the trouble making less than normal. For Cassi's...my mom's sake." Saying her mom was still a strange, but good, feeling to her.

She frowned a little when Kaine mentioned clan Ordo. That had been her clan once, her family. They were gone now and that still hurt, even if she had a new family that wanted to take care of her. "Yeah, I've heard they are."

Milla looked up at her grandfather when he told her to let him worry about her mom. She laughed a little at the thought of someone covering for the trouble she got into. Speaking of which. "I'm not sure where she's at."

"We should go find her!" She took several stepssteps back from Kaine and bounced lightly from one foot to the other. Her tail swung a little faster, both keeping balance and from excitement. "Where do you think we should start?"

Milla tilted her head to the side some and watched Kaine's serious expression. Then she perked up when he mentioned the kitchen. "Okay. We can start there."

She paused only for a moment when asked if she was hungry. The young girl hadn't eaten since this morning and she was staring to get hungry. "I'm a little hungry. So I could eat something."

Milla took her grandfather's hand and walked with him towards the kitchen. The way he talked about food only made her hungrier. She had been to the kitchen several times in the past few days. Mainly for late night raids on the fridge.

She skipped from rock to rock along the path. Milla had yet to explore the entire estate, mainly from being to busy. Eventually she'd explore every corner, room and hiding spot. For now, though, she would hangout with her new family.

The smell of food grew stronger as they got closer to the kitchens. Her stomach complained some, making her realize just how hungry she was. She turned her blue eyes up to her grandpa and gave a toothy smile, showing off her sharp canines. "How big is this place?"

Milla giggled when Kaine mentioned how big her teeth were. "They did get larger and sharper. Kinda makes them more useful now."

She listened to her grandpa tell her more about her new home. It may not have seemed to large to him, but to Milla this place was huge. She tilted her head to the side some as he told her of homes they had on other worlds. "You mean we have more one home? That's definitely a lot more than where I was living. Even this place alone is incredibly to what I used to love in."

Milla's attention turned to the cook when they drew close. She almost pulled her grandfather forward as they got closer. "We're almost there!"

Cassiopeia hated it – she had to leave the meeting between [member="Kaine Australis"] and [member="Milla Ordo"] to themselves and the nannies. An emergency at the lab, they had said. All sorts of samples had gotten contaminated and something about workers compensation paperwork needing to be signed and… Well, it was all just a mess.

In her lab suit still, Cassiopeia arrived at the small Australis estate where she had hoped Milla and Kaine were enjoying each others companies and bonding and all that. It was always hard for child as young as Milla to adapt but from what she could see, she was doing remarkably well. And with Lily being close in age, it really worked out absolutely perfectly.

She stepped into the kitchen, placing her bag, bookbag, and various other things she had in her arms on the counter as she inhaled the scent of the food. “Milla? Kaine?” She hollered out as her heels clicked on the ground as she moved towards… Wherever they may be.
