GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Holocron Name: A Treatise on Defense in Combat and the Use of Physical Bulwarks
  • Alignment: Created by a Jedi, and though the contents are based on Jedi experiences, the fighting style is non-alignment specific.
  • Origin: Jedi Master Torn Krogh, 19 BBY
  • Affiliation: New Imperial Order, located in the Imperial Library of Bastion
  • Gatekeeper: Jedi Master Torn Krogh was a older Gotal male, short for his species, and beginning to grey. He possesses a stoic attitude and mentality as hard to break as the shield he wields.
  • Description: This holocron was recorded to codify the rare and often overlooked fighting style of using a shield in combat, especially after it grew slightly in popularity during the Clone Wars.
DEFENSES

  • Accessibility: The holocron can be opened by any, since Master Krogh did not anticipate its contents to be viewed by anyone but Jedi.
  • Security: The holocron possesses no special security features, as it was intended to be housed in the Holocron Vault of the Jedi Temple.

CONTENT INFORMATION
The contents of the holocron are a mixture of discussions and lessons on the use of a physical shield (not manifested by the force or created by lasers).

The style possesses its own stances, emphasizing sturdiness and holding one's ground. Thus, it is general practiced by those who have mastered or at least have a strong understanding of Forms II and III. It emphasizes even less movement than Soresu, and is regarded as the complete opposite style to Ataru.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Master Krogh's treatise was recorded over at least a decade. Krogh was known for his unorthodox fighting style and his strength in level-headed diplomacy. The bulk of the holocron's contents date to the Clone Wars, when more Jedi began to follow Krogh's teachings, and his style proved useful against the droid armies.

Master Krogh intended to put the finishing touches on the holocron after the war, but his plan was cut short by Order 66. The holocron was mostly finished by that time, and like many Jedi artifacts was moved by the first Galactic Empire away from Coruscant. Krogh's treatise was stored in the Imperial Library on Bastion, where it remained for over a century before the Knights of the Fel Empire began to study it. Knights wielding a shield became a commonplace tactic, and combined with the teamwork-oriented fighting styles of the Imperial Knights they became difficult combatants to defeat.

In the wake of Bastion's liberation from the Sith Empire, the Imperial Knights of the NIO found the holocron, and a few took to the style. New Imperial shield walls have since become feared both on the offensive and defensive, seen at both the Battle of Dantooine and the Second Battle of Bastion.
