A Twist in Peace.

Arthur stood, surrounded by the most prominent outsiders and his own people, his eyes running over the faces of nobles like @[member="Robert Guerrin"] and @[member="Alyssa Motierre"], or soldiers and warriors like @[member="Lilythe"] and @[member="Vittinghus Naure"]. Then there were the outsiders, Dark siders and Sith, @[member="Darth Veles"], @[member="Kalen Esmara"], @k'dan la'roi, and @[member="Neilo Ardik"]... lastly his eyes fell on that of @[member="Xyhn-Tuhros"], a petite figure, one he couldn't truly understand fully but he figured the shroud on her was probably a form of self preservation. This meeting was but a simple one, in truth he wanted a consensuses of opinions, domestic and foreign that would possibly shape their next actions as a force of individuals. After all pockets of slavery still remained and the threat of outside nations loomed and shrouded the room in shadows at times. Arthur's eyes also searched for a man he had come to regard as a friend and companion, @[member="Aedan Miles"], whose appearance eluded him. Sith were also welcomed from the temple like that of @[member="Darth Naefas"], but he kept a careful eye on ones like him, Veles he could have a minimal trust in, but Naefas... he was something much darker, something he had to tolerate for now.

The room itself was a tall ceiling-ed meeting from that was filled with aged oak and silvered stone that shown in the light that bled through the windows and off the torches. The air remained chilled from the natural temperature of the planet, flowing around and through the individuals that assembled. Some retained their coats, some did not, but Arthur as he stood at the head of the table was dressed in his cloak and armor, a saber at his side and his lips curled into a smile as it was accented by a soft look from his eyes. He had succeeded to a degree, bringing together nobles and warriors, outsiders and natives, working as one and so with that thought he cleared his throat. "Well, it is good to see you all here, i thank you for your presence as this meeting is to determine the next step in our actions with the conclusion of trade deals and meetings with outside nations in combination with the raid on Bonadan which targeted local government and military forces to both remove the corruption that festered there and weakened the planet."

The amphibious Sith wore his cloak as he arrived. Although the room was cold, eternal winter raging outside of the building and draining heat from the archaic structures such as this, the Mon Calamari did not feel cold. The Mon Calamari species held a certain resistance to low temperatures due to them having to adapt to cold depths of the ocean. Thus, the black cloak was hardly necessary; its wearer just liked it hiding his lightsabers underneath it, along with the rest of his equipment. The Sith’s large amber eyes remained fixed at Arthur as he entered, his black leather boots tapping on the floor as he paced towards the man, torches illuminating the figure and making it almost seem like another shadow in the room. Avreet wore black hood over his large domed head and even his webbed hands remained covered by the cloak, intensifying the image of a shadow as only those who stood in front of him could see his face.

One of his eyes briefly swiveled to note the torches. His impression of the planet and its people has not changed since his last visit. It desperately needed a change, an Empire-wide modernization of everything ranging from the system to the technology. They could start with electrification and get rid of the torches, for example. To someone like Avreet who had lived his entire life with advanced technology, it really seemed very ancient. Nevertheless, when the ruler of the planet spoke, the Mon Cal’s attention shifted from the room to him, quietly listening what he had to say. The mention of the raid reminded Avreet he had not participated. There was nothing to by gained for the Sith by this action, therefore the Mon Calamari chose not to attend.

“I am not a politician, Emperor,” the amphibious Knight stated, “But may I recommend focusing on your own territory until it is… up to date? Picking a wrong opponent or someone with powerful allies might result in a premature end of the Iferetes Empire. Simple technological advancement won’t be enough though, I’m afraid. There are many ancient traditions, stereotypes and opinions in the society as well. Slavery needs to go, and not just officially on the paper. All beings should be granted equal rights.” Avreet said, his gaze remaining fixed at @[member="Arthur David Hardrada"].

Arthur nodded taking into his mind the points and formulating a response to them in kind, his words chosen carefully while he spoke, a smile danced across his lips though while he spoke to the sith. "The issue of allies is a hard one, ive seen how each of the greater governments act in response to allies, in the last month ive noted nearly three treaties broken, and allies abandoning eachother to save their skins left and right, not to mention most of the greater governments seem to have a profound distaste for challenges to their dominance, ironically one such being the Republic which is a awful truth compared to what the holofiles say about them."

Arthur liked the sith, to tell the truth Avreet had given him absolutely no reason not to hate or dislike him so such a thing was not going to just happen and end with a abrupt distaste for his past. "As for the issue of slavery, there are those that seem to think that my word is not absolute. They are being tracked and when they are found they will die for not following the law as it has been written and announced. Slavery will not remain while i am king and that much can be assured Avreet, though i thank you for bringing that up as i am happy to say that a possible enclave of slavers might have been found, though the information is being double checked and made sure its true."

He glanced at the primitive lighting source, having seen the Mon Cal's eyes drawn to them before he spoke. "As for the issue of technology, i rather like some old ways, brings us down to our roots and keeps us humble instead of arrogant, but i can assure you that will not stop us from easily upgrading. My home does not best show the advances made like the space ports that have been built and a vehicle i am happy to introduce to you all soon, a creation that took off the greater galaxy in its design and scale." He waited for another to speak now, though he bowed his head to @[member="Darth Veles"], he had been the first to speak and had brought up strong issues on which Arthur had been mulling over, they still needed a navy of their own and couldnt rely on Aedan Miles forever.
