A Walk With Nature

[member="Leyan Viceritas"]

Akabane had been on Naboo for a while. It seemed easier to find work and stay out of trouble there. Yet, he always seemed to find some conflict. Naboo was a beautiful place in his eyes. The kingdoms were one of the reasons. As well as the fields. What made it the most beautiful was the air. Akabane didn't know if other wind shapers enjoyed the air flow as much as he did but it was something he wouldn't deny.

After escaping the attack on his village, this planet was the only place he could go. Akabane often felt out of place at the village for some reason, but he wouldn't wish any danger on his village still. The whole situation seemed frustrating. Akabane learned many things during his stay at the village, the most important thing was "when all other senses fail, trust in the wind." It was a silly quote to him when he was still a child but he soon learned what it truly meant. But still he always felt like he wasn't remembering something important, especially when holding his cutlass.

Naboo was as beautiful as ever on the day Akabane went on a long stroll. He just learned to fly with his wind shaping. A job required long distance travel the day before so he discovered it then. However, walking and feeling a simple flow of air made him happy. Trouble only awaits me, he thought as he walked.

Leyan was in love with Naboo. She never wanted to leave. For the first time in months, she felt happy. Free, almost. She sat at the edge of a small pond that was in the middle of an open meadow, letting the water lick her toes. She played with the water lilies closest to her as she hummed a Theowei lullaby.
This place reminded her so much of Crovhana. Cool but still warm, and full of life all year round. She missed her home very much. but she didn't want to return. Not with Toreyl in power. Naboo would have to be her home for now.

Yes, the air was Akamade's most favorite part of Naboo but the food rivaled it. Food was important to him. If he had no energy, how could he shape wind? But air is infinite, that's why its the king of his favorites. Akabane was about to go back to the spaceport when he heard faint humming. It sounded like it was coming from the bottom of the small hill he was walking up.

Once his curiosity took over him, he made it to the top to see a pond and a girl. Not exactly a usual sight, even for Naboo. Approaching her seemed to be unwise, but she seemed harmless. One thing he noted was her hair. It looked slick and pretty.. maybe too pretty to be natural, unless she was a different kind of human. If that were the case, her abilities were unknown which might result in casualties. But again, she didn't look dangerous at first glance.

The lilies began to open wider at Leyan's touch, as many flowers did. She placed her other hand on the grass beside her as she continued to hum. It seemed to grow a bit taller, and tiny yellow flowers began to bud around her hand and between her fingers. Her silvery green hair danced lightly as a soft breeze swept across the meadow.
She had always felt completely unburdened in the presence of nature. Everything about it lightened her mood. She smiled down at the little yellow flowers, her face visibly brighter than it normally was. She was so content here that she didn't even notice someone watching her.

Akabane was shocked by what this girl was doing. The plants around her were growing in ways he had never seen before. By just this girl humming... or was there something else to it? Questions would probably just lead to trouble in the end so he forgot about it and watched instead some more.

He stood there for a few more moments until he decided to greet her, even though she seemed to be enjoying herself. Akabane glided down to the pond where the girl sat quietly. Once he landed on the soft grass, he put his hands in his pockets and stood on the edge of the pond staring into the water. "You are really amazing. With all of the knowledge I have gathered in my past years, I've never seen that." he said with a smile.

The stranger scared Leyan. She jumped when he showed up next to her, so much so that her feet made a light splash in the water. She stared up at him, wide-eyed and afraid at first. But he wasn't attacking her in any way. He was instead... complimenting her. But she didn't quite know what about. She moved a little bit away from him, bringing her knees to her chest and resting her chin on them. She too looked out at the water.
"T-thank you..."
Her voice was small and soft.

It was no surprise to Akabane when the girl was startled by his sudden appearance. He exhaled of relief and kept looking at the water. He assumed the power she was using was one of the many elements. However, ever since his memories were erased, partial knowledge from his life before was lost. Glancing at the girl from a closer location this time, he noticed she looked different in some ways from your average human.

The young man sat down crossing his legs at the edge. He felt like he'd be there a while. "Who are you anyway?" he asked without thinking. "If you don't mind me asking, that is." Akabane admitted to himself she was pretty, and seemed friendly for the time being. He put his index fingers in the water and went in circles.

"My name is Leyan..."
She replied quietly. She looked down at her bare feet, sweeping some of her hair back behind her droopy pointed ears. She was always very shy when it came to strangers. Though people were friendly to her in Crovhana, she'd never considered any of them her friends. They didn't know her well enough for that. Well, except for Rythar. Rythar.......
She blinked a little to make sure she didn't start crying in front of this person. she instead decided to think about something else.
"Who... Who are you?"

Akabane didn't understand why she was so shy but he knew she had her reasons most likely. Its not everyday this situation happens. When she pulled her hair back it became clear that she wasn't a human. He just wondered what she was exactly. Why was he so curious about her anyway?

About the time he was lost in his thoughts, she asked him a question. It was expected, its only fair. "Akabane. My name's Akabane." Akabane quit playing in the water after that and fell backwards into the grass. It felt warm and cozy. "The grass feels so good. I understand why you like this place."

Leyan nodded a little. She sat there in silence for a while, just letting the water lap at her toes and the breeze play with her hair. Eventually she turned back to Akabane and attempted to speak to him again.
"You're here because you like the meadows, too?"

Akabane liked being lazy and relaxing just as much as he liked the wind. It didn't matter where but places like Naboo was ideal. He wasn't necessarily there for relaxation though. His village was destructed so Naboo was all he could go to. "Yeah, especially since the air is gentle here." It wasn't the full truth but how could he tell a horrific story to a girl in a meadow.

The air was always gentle on Retalik. Crovhana was never unpleasant where weather was concerned. Even the rain was soft and thorough.
"There's so much life here. It's free and growing abundantly, just as it should be."
Leyan picked up one of the water lilies from the pond, holding it in her palm. The roots that had come with it moved and seemed to give her hand a kind of loving hug.

Leyan spoke like she was one with nature, and the way she handled plants was amazing. She seemed so fragile however. Maybe he thought that because of how shy she acted but it was a thought he couldn't let go. "Indeed. Its so peaceful.. but how long will it stay this way?" After replying, Akabane sat upright and looked at the sky. He let out the last bit not thinking. But his life was never together. He still didn't know that he lost his memories.

Akabane returned his attention to Leyan. "I've never faced despair before in my life. Its because the wind guides me when all my senses deceive me. But when I feel your presence, I forget the wind is even there." He wasn't trying to hit on her or anything but maybe it did seem that way. "Do you know what a shaper is?"

It was a bit strange for Leyan to be talking quite like this with a boy. Rythar had been the only one she'd ever truly felt comfortable around. The way Akabane was talking to her certainly not something she was used to. She shrugged slightly.
"No. What's a 'shaper'?"

Jedi and sith were usually famous in the galaxy or well known at least. Making a joke about them is easy because of that. But shapers however.. they aren't known as much. So casually talking about them might be boring or like your in an academy learning about history of your planet. That's most likely how most would feel about the subject. Akabane is usually verbal when explaining things to people, but shaping wind is more fun to him.

"Allow me to demonstrate the shaping of wind." Akabane stood up and focused on the water. He was forming a sphere of wind. After the sphere was complete, he lowered it into the water, about half of the sphere. The water would look like half of a ball was in it. After a few seconds he released the wind. "Shapers are those who can call upon one or more of the many elements and manifest it. I can shape wind, only wind."

Leyan watched with wonder as Akabane made a sort of sphere out of the breeze and half-submerged it in the pond. She'd never seen anything like it before!
"Wind Shaper....."
She held up the water lily with its roots still hugging her hand.
"Is this Shaping, too?"

Akabane smiled at her response. But her question made him stop smiling as he didn't know the answer to it. "If I'm being really honest, I don't remember much about the other elements. What you are doing is...." He paused and tried to think hard. Then, he remembered at least what the other elements were called. "Oh! There's air which I can control, fire, water, and earth." of course he knew what fire and water did, but he couldn't remember what earth did.

"I would say that you can harness earth, but I can't remember what earth does unfortunately.. maybe earth let's you change the land since you can make flowers and grass grow."

Leyan looked down at the yellow flowers that had grown around her other hand. And Earth Shaper. So now her gift had a name. There was just one thing she didn't understand.
"If what you say is true... Then what should I do with my Shaping? Surely there must be a reason why I have it..."

Akabane smirked and stood up off the ground focusing his eyes on the pond water. "Well, my dear..." he paused and looked up at the sky placing his hands in his pockets. "Do whatever you desire with it. Be a hero, play the villain, grow a farm.. its for you to decide."

Something didn't quite add up to him after talking with this girl. Akabane looked at Leyan and had a serious expression on his face. "You mean, you had absolutely no idea about your shaping abilities?" It wouldn't seem odd if it were your average beginner but her aura was strong.

Leyan slowly shook her head.
"I only ever thought of it as a connection to life. My people come from connections like it. I assumed I was merely more in-tune than most."
Theowei were, in a sense, born from nature itself. It was only natural to think that some of them had a deeper connection with plants or animals. But, what if it wasn't that simple? What if Leyan really was an "Earth Shaper" as Akabane claimed she was?
Leyan gently put the lily back in the pond. She stood next to him and looked up at him.
"Have you always known you were a Wind Shaper?"
