A Warrior's Approach [Darron Wraith & Saki]

Jekk Reth

Defensive Specialist
The afternoon light of Coruscant's sun filtered through the window, bathing the room in a orange aura. The Jedi Knight sat, cross-legged, as he silently meditated, pondering over the events of the past few months. He attempted to cleanse his thoughts, emotions... To center himself, to purge the thoughts of uncertainty which plagued him... The invasion of Metalorn, his recent and rather sudden Knighthood... The Republic very nearly thrown into war with the Sith Empire.

It had been chaos, no doubt... But today, none of that mattered. A training session had been scheduled. With the Order's current Battlemaster - @[member="Darron Wraith"] - himself. Jekk would be accompanied by a fellow Knight - @[member="Saki"] - for this special honor.

He knew that Jedi shouldn't be revered as celebrities(he'd been taught this as a young Jedi initiate), but the opportunity to work alongside the Jedi Master, well... It was truly exhilarating.

With a steady, calm stream of breaths, Jekk awaited the arrival of his comrades.

Saki

Saki moved as she let the force pool in her hands and feet, she hadn't been to Metalorn. She was supposed to go but at the last moment it was suggested she stay to help Maliss her one padawan who wasn't adjusting well. He was still being an actual hinderance to himself at times not eating and as her padawan that reflected on her... Badly he had been teaching him how to talk with people and work together. Now all he did was sit in his room and play with his knife. Still she came to look at Jekk and crossed her arms letting the saber at her side show. It wasn't her favorite she preferred her hands to beat someone down and now well she was going to learn from Darron Wraith.

Or get her butt handed to her that just meant she had learned something from the man who knew what Jor'si had taught her and he was an actual master of it who wasn't going to run away. Her eyes narrowed a little showing a few tinges of the Hapen noble even a minor noble as it were. She finally spoke with a grin. "So you ready for this."

Just as Jekk had entered the latter stages of his meditation, he was disrupted by a rather mischievous voice. Both his eyes opened to reveal whom the voice belonged to. No one other than @[member="Saki"], of course - his training partner for the day. The Knight arose from his sitting position, rising to his feet in one swift move. Jekk studied Saki for a brief moment, sizing her up. She was quite a sight... To say the least. With a polite incline of his head, Jekk greeted her. "Good afternoon, Knight Saki."

As to her previous question, he responded, "We're about to have a training session with the Battlemaster himself... I'm more ready than I've ever been in my life." A slight smirk appeared on his features, though it quickly dissipated. He knew not what Master Wraith had planned for the two Knights, but he hoped it wouldn't be too harsh.

OOC: A huge apology to you both. Lets do this! @[member="Jekk Reth"] @[member="Saki"]

"I've got to stop being late to these things."

In truth he wasn't as he muttered to himself. The built in chrono-meter on his prosthetic forearm had a visible compartment through his glove. A quick tap of the smooth surface displayed the time, and thankfully the meeting with the Council over Lord Fidelis hadn't gone on too long. The Sith Master was proving to be a troublesome case for the Council, and his unforgiving demeanor wasn't making the process any easier. With a list of transgressions that spanned from before the time of Palpatine to now, they didn't have a concrete solution on what to do. It was a cluster of a mess for sure, and one that had meany layers to it. So many in fact, that Wraith nearly missed the door to the training room where he was to meet two Knights and assist them for two separate reasons. One for assistance with Soresu, one of Wraith's favorite forms of combat that there was with a lightsaber. The other, a unique case of a Teacher trying to show a Padawan a skill that only one being in the galaxy had Mastered since Mace Windu.

Vaapad.

The long black cloak he wore followed in his wake as he entered to see the two already conversing. "I do apologize for only now arriving, I'm Darron Wraith." He slid the cloak off revealing his usual attire. The thick combat boots and matching black pants he wore were matched by the tight underweave shirt he wore. His golden cortosis bracers and breastplate were what he was best known for. The black glove her wore under the cortosis bracer on his right arm went to his elbow to cover his durasteel prosthetic. Twin electrum plated hilts were clipped to his waist, and the Battle-Master stood to his full height as he stretched his powerful arms for a moment before drawing closer to the pair. "So introduce yourselves and what you would like to work on, and any questions you have I'm fine with."

Saki

Saki looked from Jekk to Battlemaster Wraith, his looks were... About as conventional as hers. The only thing they really had in common was the cortosis forearm bracers they both used. She had found them useful for hitting things and in combat for quick surprises when they could disable lightsabers. She flicked her eyes over to Jekk and smirked. It was quite a sight to behold at least and her shoulders rolled. Letting the pops come, letting her muscles relax. Less aggression and blind anger to channel but she could get it up to enjoy a fight when the time came.

"I am Saki, Master Wraith. I was the padawan of Jor'si when he did what he did and sought this to learn more control. I don't want to fail because of my masters... Teaching sir." She didn't know if Jekk had heard or if he was even around then but when a knight not even a master tries to teach a padawan Vaapad... Not even simple juyo, but the advanced form of it that one person maybe two ever mastered. It had been a questionable act.. Then he fell to the templars so she had gotten some eyes on her. Now she remained at the temple only fighting on missions when needed because of the danger.

Intstantly, Jekk's eyes wandered to Wraith as he entered the chamber. Though 'wandered' was quite possibly the incorrect expression, as the Jedi Master almost commanded Jekk's utmost attention. The young Jedi analyzed the Battle-Master, and an uncontrollable glee washed over him. Indeed, the stories he had heard as a meek Padawan had spoken true. The man, whom stood a good foot over Jekk, was an especially imposing figure. Gauntlets and breastplates composed of a golden-hued Cortosis covered his person. Rugged combat boots, underweave shirt, and pants were all colored a dashing black. Twin electrum-plated lightsaber hilts were clipped tightly on his belt - weapons reserved for only the greatest of Jedi Masters. Wraith was most certainly a sight to behold; particularly for a Knight whom admired him as much as Jekk did.

It took everything Jekk had to not fanboy all over the place right then and there. Instead, he simply clasped his hands behind his back, almost lowering his head as Saki greeted the Battle-Master first. A few absent-minded nods went Saki's way as she turned to look at the Knight, adorned with a couple of half-assed smirks. His mind raced as Saki neared the end of her greeting, pondering what his first, exact words should be to the revered Jedi Master. Suddenly, his time came to speak, and the Knight took one long, deep breath...

"Master Wraith, first of all I would like to say how honored I am to meet you in the flesh," he spoke, peering directly into the Master's eyes. The Knight felt as if he could just barely hold Wraith's gaze, but he remained steadfast. He then cleared his throat before continuing, "I am Jekk Reth, Master Wraith; it is a pleasure to meet you, my Master." His voice - audibly clear, strong, and confident. He only hoped Wraith couldn't read minds...

@Saki @Jekk Reth

To say Sak's appearance wasn't Jedi standard would be akin to commenting on how thin the former Emperor was. Darron was wearing some similar attire to her, but his skin was not covered in the vast swathes of ink that hers were. Rage and anger seemed to emanate from deep within. How she was keeping it so well under check was a mystery, but there was a kind heart there. That much was obvious in the fact that she was here, attempting to learn, to fix what had been done. "Yes, I read the file on what happened. I will speak to the man who taught you the concepts myself at a later date. Right now my concern is getting you to be better familiar with your emotions, and a constructive way of channeling those to better serve those you wish to help." A smile crossed his face as he walked forward and shook her hand and made eye contact. Looking deeply there, he got a good measure for the goodness there. After making sure there was someone in there he could save, he released his grip and turned his full attention to the other man in the room.

If Saki was all bundled aggression and some anger issues, Jekk was the absolute opposite. Optimism and happiness were rolling off of him like waves, and his eager eyes were clearly taking note of everything about Darron. Blue eyes studied the Knight before him, and Wraith was taking notes on what form he would be best suited for. His compact frame lent him strength, but his demeanor screamed classic Jedi. That ghost of a smile he would wear in moments of joy crossed his face as Knight Reth introduced himself, and Wraith stuck his hand out and shook the fellow Jedi's hand as he spoke himself. "Good to meet you, and please just call me Darron. Titles have their place, but I'm going to be training and practicing with you as well. I"m not going to stand on ceremony if I've done nothing to earn your respect and trust yet." Releasing his grip he took a more approachable stance between the pair.

"So, Saki needs help with getting a handle on some basic concepts of Juyo." He looked at her in-case she wanted to chime in. "You're going to have to learn the movement concepts before you can even try and learn the mental capacity as well as what you are doing with the Force during the use of that form to comprehend Vaapad. It's simply the hardest thing I've ever had to learn, and I"ve seen many go crazy in the pursuit of this. I don't want your name to be added to that list, so let's work to keep it that way." Eyes fell back on Jekk before continuing. "I'm going to take a wild guess based off your body type and demenour that you want to work on Soresu? If I'm wrong please correct me, I am no mind reader. Just a man gifted with a few skills to help the many."

Jekk's eyes danced back and forth, silently studying both Saki and Darron. The Jedi Master introduced himself to his students rather warmly, which brought a smile to Jekk's face. The Master quickly started to make himself comfortable with his students for the day, directing his attention towards Saki first. Clearly, Wraith was confident in his approach. Without hesitation, he shook Saki's hand, all the while maintaining perfect, unbreakable eye contact.

Turning his gaze towards Jekk next, he did the same thing, extending his hand, which forced Jekk to unclasp his right hand to meet the Master's own. As the Jedi's azure eyes studied Jekk, he would no doubt notice the Knight's almost 'vintage' style. For all intents and purposes, Jekk was most certainly a classic Jedi. His posture, demeanor, and even mentality were all reminiscent of a Jedi of the 'old' Order. In fact, the Knight's very much traditional black Jedi tunic itself seemed to be an antithesis to Wraith's modern Cortosis armor.

Of course, Darron's powers of perception were sharper than Jekk had expected, and he accurately predicted the very reason the Knight had wanted this training session scheduled, as well as his specialization - Soresu. To those who knew him personally, it was no secret that Jekk was a Soresu enthusiast. Since his days as a young padawan, he had absolutely fallen in love with the primarily defensive style. While not as elegant as Makashi, graceful as Ataru, or powerful as Djem'So, there was no denying Soresu's amazing effectiveness in battle.

"Indeed Master Wr-I mean, Darron.." He'd have to get used to referring to the Jedi Master in such an informal way...

@[member="Jekk Reth"] OOC: Only the Bracers on my arms are cortosis weave, and that's because he's lost a forearm before. The chest piece is just durasteel, who needs all that lightsaber resistant stuff? :p

@[member="Saki"]

"No need to be nervous, lightsaber forms answer a lot of inherent weaknesses. They can range from the physical limitations of age, injury, species. Or they can go much more personal and emotional. All of these things must be considered when trying to decide how best to defend all the virtues and innocents we stand for. Being a Jedi isn't an easy task, and once you view the lightsaber in it's proper context everything becomes much easier." Wraith unclipped one of his electrum hilts and pressed the activation switch on it, the azure blade sprung to life and the smell of ozone flooded his nostrils as the very air burned from the blade. That unmistakable sound of it's activation was still ringing in his ears as he twirled the blade in his hand for a moment.

SNAP-HISS

"This is a tool, and an extension of who we are. It's not a possession, but an expression of who we are." He pointed to the matching hilt on his belt. "I am the only Vaapad Master walking around and breathing, and that was a test. So if you notice, my hilt isn't very detailed save for it's electrum finish and a few gold stylings to indicate my standing in the Order. I need maximum gripping surface to change directions, and my grips at will. My blades become a blur of motion, and I need to not be unhindered when channeling the superconducting loop that forms the very heart of how I defend." He pressed the switch again, and the azure blade deactivated. "I'll even be honest with you on something that not many know. I was put on the path to Vaapad because I had all the Force potential in the world, but my personal life and my missions were failing. I was on the verge of becoming a horror story of someone falling."

He turned melancholy remembering his hard times.

"I found myself in that loop, and learned to channel my own lust for combat and the need to right the wrongs I saw into Vaapad. What weaknesses will Soresu answer for you besides it's efficiency?"
