There was so much to be said for taking the time to travel and enjoy herself, after the whirlwind that the last several months had been. She had been pulled in a dozen different directions, her time given to whatever had been deemed important enough to warrant the possible trouble a Sith Lord's presence would bring for the First Order. It hardly mattered, though...she'd not much acted like the Master that she once was, and it suited her just fine. She had always followed her whims, and if they demanded that she remain in the grey as opposed to savoring the darkness. then so be it.

It wouldn't be the strangest thing she'd ever done, nor would it be the last time she dabbled in things most Sith would consider anathema. But to the Nether with those narrow-minded fools. The majority of them wouldn't understand opportunity if it crawled up and bit them in their family jewels.

Sighing softly, she padded barefoot through her rented penthouse suite, tossing what remained of her morning...meal...into the sunken firepit at the center of the living space. A flick of her fingers saw the fire intensify and reduce the remains to ash with a rush of the Force, then pulled it back to allow the temperature to equalize once more. With that done, Kassandra smiled absently to herself and greeted the housekeeper assigned to her suite at the door.

Permitting the woman to enter with her cadre of droids, the Lady pressed a cred chit into her palm then sauntered her way through the private hallway to the glass and wood paneled 'lift. A pair of stiletto heels was dangling from her manicured fingers, and a crimson silk wrap and towel were draped over that same arm. Her curves were clad in a minimum of iridescent black fabric, the swimsuit was a gloriously dark confection she'd picked up on her last shopping trip through the Core. Her free hand adjusted the sunglasses tucked into her loose curls, absently combing through her raven locks as they draped over her shoulders to her waist.

She padded out of the 'lift when the doors opened, sauntering her way through the sun-drenched, vine-draped lobby of the resort. It was only a few moments before Kass meandered her way to the small private beach, pleased to find it only moderately occupied at this late afternoon hour. Her things were set down on a table beside her chosen lounge chair, and then she made herself comfortable upon it, reveling in the warmth of what remained of the sun as it began to set. Her usual wine was soon brought and a glass poured for her, with the server leaving the bottle behind.

The Lordess savored the first few sips and delighted in the scenery the resort occupants provided to her. Perhaps she would find someone suitable to pass the evening with, she mused, before tugging her glasses down to cover her glittering crimson gaze and settling back into her chair.

"R6, remind me to never take your advice on business again."

Those were last words the Valkyri said to his droid companion before an explosion sent his escape pod flying from the pirate freighter. Inertia and debris rocked the escape pod to it's limits as it was sent careening towards a nearby planet. The pod quickly broke through the atmosphere and was engulfed in bright flames as it tumbled down towards the surface. Odin could barely peer outside of the tiny viewport of the pod and saw only the crystalline blue waters across the horizon. He instinctively could tell it was going to be a safe, but still hard landing. He prepared and braced himself for impact as R6 sat there beeping wildly. The Valkyri's facial expression turned stone faced as he transcended himself into a state of peace despite what was currently happening.

He closed his eyes and then...

Splash.

The pod hit the water, sending a large ripple of force around the impact spot. The sheer force of the impact jolted Odin nearly through his restraints and out of his seat. R6 managed to use his magnetic treads to keep itself safe and secure. Odin looked out of the view port once more, only to see the blue abyss surrounding him.

"Damn. The float ejection system must've gotten busted up in the explosion. If there even is one on this rust bucket." Odin looked around the pod for anything that might help him in his predicament. R6 beeped a couple times, alerting Odin. There was a red button in front of R6 that had an image of a lifeboat above it. Without hesitation, Odin punched the button. The pod rumbled slightly before flotation devices pushed several plates of metal off the exterior of the pod and began to inflate, causing the pod to float towards the surface. Odin could see sunlight once the pod reached the top of the water. He waited for the pod to be stable before opening it up. He kept one hand on a blaster at his hip as he peeked outside of the pod. He looked one way and saw only more water, but once he looked the other, pristine sands stretched across his gaze along with an immaculate building.

"I think we're safe R6, but stay on your guard. Not sure where we are just yet. Let's just get to land first."

Odin pulled himself out of the pod and stood on it's side as R6 flew up and landed next to it's companion. "There's only one way we're gonna be able to get to land swiftly, R6. I'm gonna need your help."

R6 let out a slow beep before retreating to the edge of the pod. The droid pointed it's thrusters to the water and fired them up as hard as they could go. The pod then started moving towards the beach up until it reached it and was slowed down by the sands.

"Good job, R6. But, this doesn't get you out of the doghouse for making me take that deal."

The wine was exquisite...there was something to be said for a properly aged bottle of Corellian Merlot, and another sip reminded her that her penthouse in Laurentia was woefully understocked. The resort had dozens of boutiques and vendors of all kinds, perhaps she would see about perusing their wares after dinner on the rooftop terrace.
The bottle lifted of its own accord, gently tipping to refill her glass while Kassandra gazed out across the water as the sun began to set. There was a moment where everything went silent within the Force which was disconcerting in and of itself. She set the glass aside and pushed her sunglasses up into her hair, crimson eyes blazing as her senses ranged actively outward.
Given the advancing hour, the beach was mostly empty, which proved to be an unexpected boon considering the escape pod that soon crashed into the deep water offshore. A sculpted brow lofted upwards as she sent tendrils of energy out into the water, calming the unnatural ripples until it looked as if the ocean had simply and silently enveloped the ovoid craft.
It wasn’t a long wait until it surfaced, it’s emergency buoyancy system apparently taking its sweet time in activating. She rose to her feet as it began to move, her wine glass in her hand as she lifted it to her lips for a sip. A soft, slow smile curled her features as it beached itself on the sand with an astromech and a gentleman aboard.
A rather handsome gentleman who seemed little worse for wear considering what he had just been through. Crimson eyes drank in the sight with pleasure, slowly coursing across his frame and settling on his shoulders.
Another sip of wine, and she canted her head to the side. He was a Jedi...or at least, had been one in his recent past given the feel of his aura. The Lordess very nearly pouted, but it could have been worse...at least he wasn’t one of those self serving narcissists that seemed to populate the currently active Orders.
Sauntering her way over to where he stood, she stopped a step or two away. “Well well...what have we here? I didn’t anticipate being provided such entertainment this evening…” she purred softly, the long familiar gnawing hunger slithering to life at the back of her mind.
