A Woman, an Elf, and a Knight (Kaili and Akuma)

Tiredness was not something Raijin experienced often, if at all, but he thought this day was bringing him pretty close. He had to shout down the annlying little pockets of anti-Sith sentiment, which was not helped by him being the Sith Kingdom's resident lightning master. He also had to rebuild some of the cities that were still floundering after the Rapture from a few years ago. But most of all, he'd been checking and double-checking every planet he could find that had a census report with some kind of list of Force-Sensitives. The Kingdom needed fighters, and the fighters needed an academy...

How was a guy, even one fhat never slept, supposed to run a whole school for the misfit angst machines that usually constituted a force of Sith? He would most likely never find out, seeing as he was grabbing kids who would never even have been looked at by most Overseers. This bunch was mostly made up of rejects from one Jedi sect or another, plus a few ex-One Sith acolytes. Eccentric, but not insane. But he needed more, and so he kept trawling. More messages, a bit less security, and hopefully more would come.

It had been so long since Kaili left home. Space was still one of those things that terrified her to a small degree but with time and small baby steps it had all started to subside. She still feared crashes more than anything and going planetside still caused her heart to skip, even if just a little. Nonetheless she had promised everyone to get better. Her mother, her brother, her sister and her girlfriend. It was something she had received praise for, maybe she felt it was a bit unwarranted, but hey that was support for you.

At this point she had gotten back into the groove again as a Warden. Or well, almost. She wasn’t particularly protecting the hyperlanes just yet, but this deviation felt appropriate considering where she had been roughly two months ago. People in the galaxy were disappearing. More specifically, people in the galaxy were disappearing after promises of a life where they would be fitting in. Exiles from the Jedi, people seeking to become acolytes of the Sith. It was free will, but was it something Kaili could abide? She didn’t know.

She had managed to intercept one of the messages by sheer luck. Co-ordinates were located within, somewhere for the people to meet up and get ushered into a new age of something that was going to end in pain for any and all that accepted. Kaili contemplated what was up ahead and what her sister would have done. Aela being Aela would have called in the big guns, torn the entire place apart to prevent any and all Sith from leaving the place, but Kaili didn’t have that luxury. It was just her and the recruiter as far as she was concerned. The only problem was that she had absolutely no idea who he was or what he even looked like.

No, she had to play it smart. To blend in and above all else identify who it was so that she could shut him, or her, down.

Her feet felt heavy as she approached the site. A small group of people seemed to have already arrived. She stopped for a second, took the sights in and decided to stay back. There was no need to rush it. She had all evening, possibly the night if things went FUBAR.

It probably wasn’t, but you never knew.

And so the lone agent just leaned back against the wall while putting on her best feigned ‘second thoughts’ face to stave off any suspicions from passer-bys.

Sometimes, there were routes that could be taken to improve upon ones' thoughts, and actions. Many people within the Sith Assassin's were speaking of this new Kingdom arising. One that was "uncivilized" as it was " pure idiocy" I couldn't say for sure. As the term goes, don't judge a scroll by it's bindings. I wanted to see this for myself. What would be the best way to get alot of people to join a cause quickly, and efficiently. First, public messages that traveled through hidden messages, or com lines. Only those who knew of them would see it. Second, host it in a place where escaping is easy should things go south.

Where would that be? Here. I smiled slightly as those around me were so innocent of the ways of the force. Some were so innocent they laughed and played with eachtother. The idea of fighting sidebyside with their friends, defending their ideals. They were lost in their minds. War was not about defending a point with friends. War was about survival over those who couldn't. Their friends would die. Or they would die. Leaving the rest alone, and forsaken. I knew this pain all too well. Including death itself. Should people here be searching for people with the force, they would sense none within me. An aftereffect of death. I had walked through Chaos, or Hell. And survived. Akala had freed me upon the people once more. To her I thanked. However, turning insane, and becoming a monster that had to be put down, was not on my list of things to do.

Instead, I needed to fight again. I wanted to save someone from the same fate I had. Only, I was years to late. Looking up from the ground between my feet, I could feel some pretty powerful people here. Some were Knight ranks, few, but some were Master. I could tell. But they would not feel me. I was dead to the Force. I was death itself. Through the folds of my long, raven hair, I could see a woman way in the back. Either she was watching from a distance, or was not in the mood to be with the crowd.

I felt the same. I moved away. Turning my back to her, and walked out of the crowd. All of these... these... children offended me. They would die for this Sith Kingdom cause, and be thrown away. Those who survived would either leave their foolish ways and become a Sith, or they would be stuck within the empire, this kingdom and rise through their ranks. Sure, some may become powerful, and possibly powerhungy, but that would be nowhere near the strength of the Sith Empires currently running through the Galaxy. The One Sith, and the Sith Assassins were at the top of the foodchain.

What hope could this new organization hope to gain? And that's why I was here. To find out, and possibly become an Agent within the Kingdom. Shivers ran down my spine at the thought of having to fight with these children. Ugh.

Hopefully this recruiter would come out soon.

This crowd was more than Raijin had expected to come. Way more. Fifty or more people, instead of the ten or twenty he'd expected. He wasn't much for theatrics, but he was still leading his riding nexu with him on a leash, just because he didn't trust the never-entirely-housebroken feline by himself. A quick glace around the crowd showed a few people walking off to corners by themselves out of boredom, or annoyance, or just so they could sit down. Those were the ones he would talk to first. Find out why they didn't want to be near the others.

The inside of the palace had the air of a carnival or something like that, with plenty of decorations and food strewn about on different tables, something one of his first few new apprentices had suggested. He had to admit that the whole place was less dreary, and more like it had been when the Dynasty had ruled here. Much better than when he'd landed here a couple of months ago. Rai himself was dressed like a bandit out of a western, as usual.

Raijin walked himself and his big four-eyed feline right around the courtyard until he was right in front of one of the outlying people, a kind of dark-looking girl with long black hair. Even with his rather limited ability to sense other Force Users, he could tell this one was stronger than the ones in the bigger group. Another one, off in his peripheral vision somewhere was way stronger. He doffed his wide-brimmed hat at the girl.

"Morning. Welcome to Eclipstica, kid."

There was an added benefit to being cautious. Kaili got to sit back and just people watch for a bit. Give it a few moments to consider who was who without really knowing who anyone actually was. It was a game that tickled both curiosity and readiness equally, a game that kept her entertained in the lack of entertainment. At least until the person responsible showed up and it would turn out that the recruiter wasn’t a he or she at all, it was an it! Kaili pushed herself off of the wall and felt the first wave of mixed emotions wash over. A droid walked into the scene, yet it radiated through the force like any other organic. She didn’t know which of them was the coolest, the fact that it was a droid or that it was in the force, but she calmed herself nonetheless to focus on the task at hand.

Her back separated from the wall and she made way towards the gathering. As much as she might have wanted to keep the exit open she still needed to blend in. Standing in the distance looking gloom would only help her keep the cover for so long. She approached the table of foods but refrained from grabbing anything. Call it paranoia, but the chances of the food being drugged didn’t strike her as something that would be out of the question. A quick look around and the quizzical thought about what a single dose of Sith Poison could accomplish at an event such as this was... Terrifying to say the least.

Not that she really expected food laced with the stuff, but the thing that mattered was just that. She didn’t know and therefor she wouldn’t try it either.

“Apertifs?” A kid approached her, eerily enough almost half Kaili’s age. Did this child’s parents even know that she was here?

“Huh?” Kaili blinked before snapping back to it. “Oh, uh, no thanks.”

Then again, they were looking for misfits and outcasts. This child might have been both for all Kaili knew. She couldn’t let herself grow soft. Everyone around her was to be marked as an enemy until proven otherwise or shown the light. A cruel but necessary mindset.

She returned to the outlying groups of people without really contributing to anything. They had yet to see the main course, which of course was the droid and his nexu.

And even still Kaili couldn’t help but wondering if this nexu was as cuddly as her sister’s. She somehow doubted it.

A... droid with a force signature? I thought my mind had been playing tricks on me. Even more so with the Nexu that was was either a show of dominance, or a showing of power. Either way, it may have worked on others. I however, didn't fear this droid. I had killed many nexu when I was a Gladiatorial fighter. I have fought a Bull Rancor on my own. With skills as an Assassin, and a Warrior of the Sith, Most acolytes would find me a challenge. Even a previous master had found me challenging in a fight. While he had still bested me, I had to think, Would I be able to take on this Force sensitive Droid, and his pet Nexu, with this many people around?

Answer was no. Not now at least. I would wait for my time.

However, as it seemed, as though this droid wanted to speak with me. Welcoming me to the planet. I just stared at him. Wondering why me. Why talk to me when there likely were other people who could very well, surpass my limitations. I didn't use a Lightsaber, or at least I limited my useage of one. And even more so, I only used the force when necessary.

Returning a nod to the man? She? It? Yeah. I voiced my self to him.

"And to whom do I have the pleasure of speaking?"

Might as well keep a charade that I was interested in this. As a Sith Assassin, I needed to find out of this uprising of a Kingdom. If that meant joining them, then so be it.

Keeping it in the back of my mind, I tried to keep a feeling for the more powerful force users in the area. It was getting harder for one of them as they began to mingle among the crowd. They became muffled. Almost like trying to hide under a blanked of other force signatures. It was getting difficult to concentrate upon whoever it may be. And I didn't like that.

"Raijin. Whatever else you hear, it's just Raijin."

Rai scratched his nexu's chin as he looked this girl up and down. He couldn't quite see anything on her, but his gut told him she had something other than the dinky little hunting or holdout blasters most of these Outer Rim kids carried around with them. The other thing his gut told him was that there was something off about her. No Force presence, but she was certainly here, and she was certainly looking at him too intently to just be one of the residents wandering in and out of the crowds.

"I am assuming you came here to learn something about the Force. Or to hide out. So, am I right, Miss...?"

Kaili continued to wander the crowds and tried to mix into the collective auras of other force users. She was without a doubt one of the stronger ones, but with luck she might have been able to nullify that somewhat. She still accepted no food or drink and she still struggled with the idea of what would happen to the people if she failed. Life at the servitude of the dark side was no life at all, yet she understood that their end might come to become inevitable. Not at her hands, never at her hands, but at someone elses.

Though whether that would be their master or in a field of war remained to be seen.

“You sure you don’t want the food?” The same kid from before approached Kaili. “It’s pretty good.”

“Yes, look, I’m sorry, but I don’t want any food.” Kaili knelt down to match her unwanted follower’s height. “Why are you here?”

“The Jedi didn’t want me.” The child responded.

“I find that hard to believe.” Kaili placed her hand on the girl’s shoulder. “The jedi accept just about anyone. That’s why they have the AgriCor-”

“I DON’T WANT TO BE A FETHING FARMER!” The kid burst out and Kaili flinched in surprise.

“Okay then.” Kaili brushed the dirt off of her shoulder and promptly left the kid alone.
There was no saving them. Kaili wasn’t sent here to teach children manners and patience.
