Faction A world of first contact (Light Side/Explorers)

Ordinance worlds were one thing, but the Tide of Light had found something even more different, a world in the golden zone but one that seemed to never have appeared on any star charts. They were out near the Rim of the galaxy, where worlds were far and few between but many had history that was unheard of. A call had come from a private investor, someone with big dreams of extra-galactic exploration. The trips to Companion Besh were one thing, but beyond that? Developing new technologies, the world that was found, unofficially known as ExGal Alpha. It was a throwback to the days of the Extragalactic Society, but this was not a world of them, just in the spirit of the Society.

The Tide of Light was tasked with assisting with cataloging the world. And understanding if the Starlight Company could utilize the world. They had their company freighters loaded with pre-fab buildings including labs and manufacturing stations. A skyhook was going to be moved into place to help test what they needed in zero-G. What the company’s CEO, an eccentric Duros, was hoping to do was build a few different structures and find a way to allow people to last long term on new worlds.

The Jedi and their associates? They were designated with listing the various groups on the world, and if this planet was able to be used. Having multiple ecosystems was a move that was something Starlight Company wanted. The Jedi were to land in a few different drop ships.

“Alright folks, we’re going in as first contact. We don’t know much of what they’re like on the world, but we’re seeing that it seems to be a weird blend of archaic and technology. I think this world has been touched before, but… it doesn’t seem to be recently, from the probe droids. No droids, but there are some technology, primitive light bows it seems, or bowcasters. Vibroweapons.

“We’re going to head to some of the areas in the tropical zone, near the coast, its one of the villages not far from one of their larger cities. We’re not here to move them, Starlight wants to find their own piece of real estate, but we want to see if the locals are capable of comprehending something of this sort, or if we’re going to need to enforce a protection on the world. You each have been paired with a BD unit if you do not have a droid capable of cataloging and translation. Keep your lightsabers close, we are not here to create war. Any questions?”

Exploration, and the Jedi. Coren had made a call out to the Explorers Corps and the Tide of Light, for those who wanted to help explore a world. A few dropships were landing at other locations through the planet, various ecosystems. The tasks were the same, use the Force and their first-contact rules were in effect. They were given some precious metal, even some kyber. If they found Force sensitives, not the villages, and from there more work would occur.

Even others were being tasked to work alongside Starlight Company, finding locations for the company to set up shop, in a variety of ecosystems for a variety of tasks. The Company wanted a world on that was along the Rim and untouched by the current galaxy.

OOC: Open to all friendly explorers and Jedi. Have that story you want to tell about a Rim world? Here you go!

Algo sat in a seat on one of the dropships, headed toward the surface of the planet. Algo was here to assist the Jedi however he could, though he probably wouldn't even be much help. He wasn't sure why he was brought along, but he guessed that they needed all the help they could get. Even if that help was... unorthodox.

Then, someone near Algo started speaking. Algo turned, and he saw Master Starchaser giving a briefing. Algo listened to him, trying to absorb all of the knowledge. It was pretty basic stuff, but their objective might not be so easy to execute. At least, that was what Algo thought, whether it would be or not would soon be determined.

After Master Starchaser finished his briefing, he asked if anyone had any questions. Algo raised his hand. "Yeah. What if I left my BD unit behind? I sort of... kind of... lost it." Algo asked, completely unperturbed by the fact that he had lost something so important.

Wearing: Jedi Guardian Catsuit

Armed with: Blood Sister

Current Configuration: Meleena Io

Objective: Explore ExGal Alpha

Just because the Io Sisters had denounced Laertia in public because she had ordered them to in order to save them, didn't mean they wanted to.

Meleena, coded to be the Oldest of the "Io Sisters" was particularly worried about the Westenra Copy designated Melissa Io, who was vehemently against any more permanent Alliance with Imperial Forces. She was afraid Melissa would disobey Laertia's request...

Meleena herself felt strongly about it, but with different programming running in a given copy at a given time, there were run time differences in logic processes. It didn't help that Melissa had been through some serious chit on Cathay that had pushed her to her limits.

Meleena was heartbroken over Laertia's current situation, and didn't know what to do. Laertia wasn't backing down...no one was backing down. The Jedi's hatred of the Sith had driven them so completely crazy that they were gonna try a full on kissy-face with the NIO.

Meleena sought to do something to help Laertia in her own way though. So she had made contact with Laertia via her Psy-Pire connections and asked how she might help out.

She had received but one answer.

After receiving that answer, she had sent out a handwritten message and had it delivered to the "former" Padawan of Syd Celsius, recently gone under tutelage of a Light Adept known only as the Sorceress of Coruscant. (A..."aspect" of Syd Celsius):

Greetings, Padawan Rand. I am Meleena, Jedi Knight of the SJC and Sister to an acquaintance of Syd Celsius, your "former" master.

I have been asked to conduct an assessment of Force Nexus points on newly discovered worlds and your name came up as one quite capable of purifying such areas if they have been tainted. The SJC are under first contact protocols, so we cannot afford violence. However spotting and purifying problem areas or helping out any locals will go a long way to helping the SJC's reputation as the planet is explored and catalogued. Plus, early explorers have reported strange chambers of unidentified runes and I volunteered to investigate those as well.

On a side note, our mutual acquaintance has asked through anonymous channels that I remain available as a part-time instructor and periodic assessor of your progress.

Enclosed are the coordinates to ExGal Alpha. Memorize the contents of this letter and then immediately destroy it as a counterforensic effort upon reading.

-signed, Meleena.

The Android had then boarded her red Solo Combat Freighter and had made haste to the newly discovered planet, hoping that Rand would show...

But... yeah but... No... that's not wh... come.... really? LANGUAGE!

It's funny that on a recent trip to Naboo, Caltin was surprised that his astromech "Roller" was not interested in taking a trip away from "The Starlight Sentinel". It was clear to him that though the carried the brain of two of his previous astromechs, it carried none of the personality. OH, WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES. This little bugger was more than annoying in how it wanted, almost demanded to go with him on this trip. The dropship was uncomfortable, cumbersome, and slow, but it didn't matter. Caltin wasn't paying attention as he was too busy defending his actions.

Yes, he was listening to Starchaser. they were documenting the world and it could be dangerous, it shouldn't be, but there was a slim chance of it. That explained why the big guy was here. While he was not, and never would be looking for a fight, they seemed to find him. Right now, he just wanted a chance to go for a ride.

I should have taken my ship.

... YET THE DAWN ALWAYS COMES.

With his explanation of the mission, he was looking to those that were around him and smiled. Most seemed fine but then the one… Padawan of the Silvers, he thought, spoke up. “How… how’d you lose it? They’re tasked to following you.” Droids were simple, organics… they were a bit trickier to work with, clearly. IF you don’t have yours you’ll be pairing with someone who has theirs. The units will help us log things on the fly so the Jedi and Starlights can focus on strategy and keeping an eye open.”

Well, eye to the Force, really.

He was watching over the others, and waiting. No other questions were coming forward. “Take what you need. We are to be respectful, we are guests on the world we are observing. Bring your lightsaber, you may need it, rifles are recommended. If you can not engage, please do, but if it comes to it, know that the Force will guide you. Now, to your ships.”

Nodding, he grabbed his own pack. He had an old Levantine Sanctum environmental suit and was being lead, with the other Jedi and Explroers by one of the Starlight Company aids. The hangar had a number of landing craft, most piloted by an organic and droid combo. A few others from the company were there but the Jedi were leading their own groups. The Jedi Master stepped onto the lead ship, flanked by others, and when they were loaded up, the ship was launching.

Meleena was not the only Westenra copy on Exgal Alpha.

Another Westenra Copy was present, to do her own exploring.

Melissa, unnaturally still in the briefing, the faint glint of purple at the center of her eyes visible, waited quietly and unassumingly. The first in command of the Io Sisters, Melissa was a tall statuesque blonde woman in a skintight blue and black catsuit, like the two others spawned from her flesh, though each looked unique.

Melissa examined the others present. Coren Starchaser Coren Starchaser was heading the mission. Melissa didn't look down on him thecway Laertia did...Starchaser had been in an absolutely impossible position back then when it came to the compact. Much as Melissa (and Laertia) hated to admit it, if Starchaser hadn't withdrawn his support, many in the Order would have rebelled.

Of course, given the fact many of those same Jedi were happily supporting another Imperial Power, Melissa could only scoff at their short sightedness. Anything to beat the Sith. To pretend their successors or even children wouldn't be fighting the brutal war any less than they would. No wonder Laertia had grown disillusioned with them. Melissa had wanted to be a Jedi once. Had been fascinated by it. But many of them thought this war with the Sith was the most important thing of their lives...and Melissa simply couldn't see why, even with hearing all the horror stories...hadn't this gone on since forever? What made their own histories so important, so overwhelming, that it allowed them to all but ignore the Bryn'adul? She was horrified and appalled at the losses the Jedi sustained in these battles. Yet no one was slowing down, no one was rethinking their approach at all. Their obsession with destroying the Sith had consumed them. And no one could give her a proper answer as to why all of this was acceptable with the Bryn'adul killing everything...they really believed they could fight both...and most got angry when she questioned the validity of the NIO.

Melissa was growing rapidly disgusted and disillusioned with the Order...

Melissa passively listened to his instructions and feared the damage they would do to any local culture just being there...was it really worth it?

Of course it was, because resources...

She looked at Caltin Vanagor, noting his enthusiasm.

"Do you mind if I accompany you?" She asked formally of him...
