Irumakka Sednava

Retired Imperial, Businessman
AAS-CG1 Pilot Droid

A product of Adumar Advanced Starcraft Design and Repair.
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Basic piloting abilities, capable of sublight spaceflight and atmospheric flight.
  • Advanced servomotors and intermotor actuating couplings for arm and leg mobility.
  • Olfactory sensors, auditory sensors, tactile sensors, and photoreceptors provide a full range of sensory input.
  • Advanced internalized targeting computer grants excellent gunnery capabilities.
  • Vocabulator included. Speaks galactic basic.
  • Militant Personality Matrix.
STRENGTHS
  • Pinpoint Accurate: This droid model is extremely capable in the role of a gunner on a starship, with an internal targeting computer allowing deadly accuracy with missile, torpedo, and laser weapon systems. This targeting computer also allows some limited capability with small arms, bolstering the number of fighting crew members in the event of a boarding action against your starship.
  • Piloting Skills: This droid possesses sufficient flying skills to safely transport a ship from Point A to Point B in ideal conditions.
  • Conversational: Equipped with a decent vocabulator, this droid is programmed to speak galactic basic. While flying a ship, this seemingly innocuous upgrade proves vital, enabling swift and concise communication between CG1 units and their fellow crew members.
  • Heat/Fire Resistant: The ceramic plating is more than just decorative. Nearly every part of this droid is highly heat-resistant and fire-resistant, protecting all its vital systems in the event of a fire breaking out aboard the ship.
WEAKNESSES
  • Handle With Care: These droids are very fragile pieces of machinery and cannot stand the rigors of combat. A single blaster bolt or hard blow is enough to disable and destroy them.
  • Clumsy: CG1s are notoriously clumsy, despite being nimble pilots. When walking on a ship or the surface of a planet, they tend to be very off-balance, accident-prone, and unsteady on their feet.
  • Additional Pilot Required: In ship-to-ship combat situations, this droid has a severe tendency to focus on operating a ship's weapons and may stop flying the ship entirely if that will grant it a clear shot. A crew utilizing this model should ensure that another pilot is present to take over flying and perform evasive maneuvers, allowing the droid to properly engage enemy ships without putting its crew at risk.
  • Hyperspace Incapable: Unlike many pilot, astromech, and astronav droids, CG1 models cannot plot hyperspace coordinates or perform hyperspace flight.
  • Too Much Ship: At a certain point, a ship becomes too large for its handlers to manage, and the calculations required to move it become too complex for its processors. A good rule of thumb is that anything cruiser-sized or larger will overwhelm this droid.
DESCRIPTION
A single initial production run of sixteen droids was conducted to create a force of test pilots for Adumar Advanced Starcraft Design and Repairs' starships and starfighters. Proving themselves effective pilots and especially exceptional at gunnery, customers began making offers on the droids. Seeing an opportunity to make a profit the owner of A.A.S.D.R., Irumakka Sednava, brought the droids into minor, small-batch production.

Droids of the line are very notable for their gruff, militant demeanor, which gives them a tendency to speak in short, information-dense sentences that are concise and to the point. They are not pleasant to work with, but they are fiercely loyal to their crew. CG1 models have a striking appearance; their stark white ceramic outer plating, ovoid heads, and humanoid design give them a passing resemblance to mannequins. Originally designed to test flight and weapon systems aboard newly produced starships, these systems are also those in which they excel at operating in their current incarnation. You can find them working in a wide range of roles, from copiloting a starfighter to serving on the bridge crew of corvette-sized and frigate-sized vessels, and everything in between.
