- Armor - With reinforced plating, the AAW is resistant to hand held weapons.
- Low Speed - The AAW is slow, there's no doubt about it. Without an accompanying detachment of infantry units or smaller support vehicles, the AAW may find itself easily overwhelmed and in a sticky situation.
- Neck - The designers of the AAW have not yet been able to find a solution to the exposed neck of the AAW that plagued the AT-AT.
