The Seeker of Might
- Name: A'Bael Denko
- Alias: "Natakar"
- Faction: The Hutt Cartel
- Rank: "Apprentice"
- Species: Near-Human
- Race(s): Human, Zeltron, Kral'jica
- Age: 20
- Height: 1.8 meters
- Weight: 86.5 kilograms
- Hair Color: Brown
- Eye Color: Blue
- Skin Pigmentation: Tan
- Force Sensitive: Yes
- Strengths: As is the case with his elder sibling, A'Bael Denko received a multitude of training in the ways of the Force at the hands of his father. As a whole, the sum of the instruction he received over the years was equivalent to that bestowed upon Younglings and Padawan learners. In fact, at the conclusion of their training, both A'bael and his sibling could stand on par with their sire in the fields of swordplay and telekinesis; thus making them a cut above the average Padawan in those particular classes of combat. Furthermore, A'Bael is the unique intersection of many species: Human, through which he gains his Force Sensitivity, Zeltron, through which he gains the ability to telepathically project emotions upon others, as well as read and feel emotions in turn, and Kral'jica, through which A'Bael can generate, absorb, redirect, and discharge electricity; and has a larger lung capacity than most species.
Due to the fact that A'Bael was raised on the Hutt Moon, Nar Shaddaa, he has gained a "street-level" hardness when it comes to confrontations. He has no problem confronting anything and anyone who even looks at him in the wrong way. Furthermore, as an "enforcer" at the employ of the Hutt Cartel, he has exceptional knowledge of the criminal underworld and many connections to get him where he needs to go, and whatever he needs to get his jobs done.
- Weaknesses: Due to the nature of his occupation, A'Bael has developed an excessively violent personality. He has very little patience for working with others, and insubordination is a swift means of receiving a prompt introduction to his lightsaber. On the rare occasions where an individual is required to live, such as dealing with leaks or crooked peddlers, he often makes the mistake of outright killing them; much to the chagrin of his employers. Furthermore, though he has not yet fallen, his extreme anger has resulted in a susceptibility to the sway of the Dark Side...though his deep-rooted hatred for the Sith is one of the main forms of resisting the Fall.
BIOGRAPHY
Origins: The Land of Love and Sea
It was pure happenstance that intersected the lives of a Jedi Knight and a native of planet Morje. On that fateful day, a Knight of the Jedi Order by the name Wy'lad had ventured into Sith Space on orders to accumulate whatever information he could. Unfortunately, he was promptly discovered briefly following his exit from hyperspace and was fired upon by a patrol squad. During the ensuing chase, his hyperdrive unit was badly damaged and he thought it was the end...yet fate would have it function at the last possible second, jettisoning him clear across the galaxy and depositing him smack-dab in the middle of the Unknown Regions. There, Wy'lad flew about for days, nearly running out of fuel in the process. Luck would have his scanners pick up an uncharted world, Morje, upon which he quickly landed. What he discovered was a planet covered by ocean, ocean, and MORE ocean. Devoid of a suitable place to land, and now depleted of fuel, Wy'lad snapped on his breathing mask and plummeted into the oceans...attracting the attention of some of the world's natives.Among the Kral'jica that swam to the Jedi Knight's rescue, all of whom were motivated purely out of curiousity, was the heiress of a notable clan by the name Denko. Her name was Vetka and she was by far the most beautiful creature Wy'lad had ever laid eyes on. The Kral'jica of Clan Denko liberated the Jedi Knight from the seas and ferried him to one of the few islands that were scattered about their world. Vetka took an immediate liking to the otherworldly visitor, mainly due to the elegant saber which hung to his waist, and Wy'ad was equally taken by her breathtaking beauty. Over the course of months, they spent each and every day together. Wy'lad managed to learn to communicate with Vetka through the Force, and then educated her in Galactic Basic. Vetka, in turn, told Wy'lad all about her world, their customs, their history, and about herself. In time, their attractions gave rise to affection, and soon love. Vetka ended up "claiming" Wy'lad as her mate, an act that sent ripples through the Kral'jica community, and Wy'lad in turn claimed her as his wife.
Their union bore their first and only child: Radia Denko. While the parents were blissful with their newborn baby, a problem soon presented itself. Radia, a cross between the aquatic Kral'jica and the land-loving Humans, was born without gills and could therefore not live under the water. Furthermore, Vetka could only stay above water for short spans at a time...which was torture for the new mother. She was unable to hold her baby throughout the night, unable to attend to him when he cried, unable to be the mother she wanted so desperately to be...Wy'lad couldn't bear to see his wife like this, and he was in no position to care for a newborn by himself on an island. Left with no other options, Wy'lad and Vetka came to make a heartbreaking decision: Wy'lad would reach out with the Force and contact the Jedi Order to send aide. Then he and Radia would leave the planet, where Radia would then be inducted into the Order and trained.
Wy'lad vowed to return to his beloved wife with their son in the future, and after a tearful farewell, the family parted ways...never to be united as a whole again.
Prologue: A Life Ill-Lived
A'Bael was born in the midst of this rather troubling time and spent the initial years of his life living in fear of his drunken and abusive sire. Day after day, he watched in terror as Radia beat his wife repeatedly, and then turned on his sons to do the same. When A'Bael was old enough to comprehend the concept of divorce, he had no idea why his mother did not choose to do so; and in response ran away from home on several occasions. Then, one day, out of the blue, Radia began educating A'Bael and his brother in the ways of the Force. This baffled the young boy, as he had no idea why his father would suddenly abandon his drinking (briefly) and begin long, excessive rants on the nature of the enigmatic Force.
Whatever his reason for doing so, Radia introduced his sons to the Force and began daily, rigorous sessions of training with them. For years, this training ensued, and the drunken man began to form a solid relationship with his sons. Through this, he then repaired his fractured marriage and even managed to abolish his drinking habit. Passion then managed to find a more suitable occupation working in a local diner, and life was good for the young A'Bael and his elder brother. This good life continued up until the time A'Bael turned sixteen years of age.
Though Passion had escaped the sordid work environment of a gentleman's club, she still had to deal with a drunken customer every now and again. One evening in particular, a smashed patron decided to take some pent out aggravation out upon her: smashing a bottle of alcohol over her skull. Passion was gravely injured and only hurt more by her fall...she passed away in the medical center from her wounds. When Radia heard of this, he flew into a rage that would make a Sith proud. He hunted down the cretin who dare rip his wife away from him and cut him to ribbons...yet what Radia didn't realize was that the cretin was the main fence for a major Hutt Cartel. Radia went from vengeful hunter to deceased hunted in a matter of days, ganged up on and killed in the alley behind the establishment he worked at.
Blinded by fury and grief, A'Bael forsook all common sense and embarked upon a hunt for those whom were responsible for his father's murder. Eventually, he tracked down the culprits in a seedy club just hours following the killing and proceeded to exterminate them, one by one. As it turned out, they were not phenomenally stronger than his father by any stretch...they had simply gained the upper hand through the element of surprise coupled with superior numbers and his father's grief-strucken state. A'Bael on the other hand had the element of surprise on his side, and when the dust settled, he emerged victorious.
He never learned that the thugs he had slain were members of the Hutt Cartel...this was due to the fact that he was being watched by the owner of the sordid establishment: a Hutt of the Cartel. This particular individual was very impressed by the skills demonstrated by the young man, and was well aware of the fact that the recently-slain Radia had two sons. As such, he did not claim responsibility for Radia's murder, but used his silver tongue to place the blame upon the Sith Empire, lying to make it seem as though the ancient enemies of the Jedi Order had exacted some form of revenge upon the fallen warrior.
He then offered A'Bael, to the young man's surprise, a unique opportunity: join the Hutt Cartel and put his exceptional skills to good usage. The Hutt attempted to gain his interest through promises of travel, credits, women, and everything in-between...but it was the potential opportunity to come into continuous contact with members of the Sith Empire that grabbed A'Bael's attention. The young man agreed and entered the Cartel as a simple, low-paid guard...yet his skills quickly led to an elevated position, and a raise in pay.
To this day, he continues to work as an "enforcer" for the Hutt Cartel...and takes every opportunity to slay members of the Sith Empire whenever he can.
