Abrupt Farewell - Trial of Courage

Voss
Silver Temple

Luminescent moonlight shone through the openings in the temple hallway, as a lone figure silently crept through the desolate corridor. A dark grey hood hid the beings face, which fluttered as the loner continued their journey through the Temple and into the Padawan's quarters, the sound of soft breathing bouncing off the walls of the small room. Removing the hood, Rasu silently slipped in beside her Padawan, [member="Asaak Tey"], finding a small amount of pleasure as she watched her student rest, her mouth open slightly as she released her breath.

Taking a moment to look around, she found nothing unpeculiar, the small room and its few objects contained within were a common sight in many Padawans dorms, with but a small desk and a bed taking up much of the room, with a small mat for practicing meditations. Knelling beside the young woman, Rasu placed her hand on the shoulder of the Togruta, whispering softly as she tried to rouse the woman from her slumber. "Asaak, dear. Wake up, it's time for that late night training session we had organised."

Asaak had grown quite fond of the deep sleeps she found possible when at home in the Silver Jedi Temple. She had been on week long missions that required either sleeping in a ship, in quarters provided to her, or out on the planet itself. Sleep - if she were even able to catch some on a mission - always came slowly and poorly on those nights. She was listening too intently for any disturbance, for the sense in the Force that something was happening. She relished her simple bed on Voss and the quiet of her nights after a long day of learning.

Perhaps it was for that reason that she slept through the intrusion in her room, or maybe it was because the presence was a welcome one that set off no alarms in her head. But either way it took a second or two for her to regain consciousness as Rasu gently jostled her awake.

She was a bit bleary, and she couldn't exactly recall a late night training session being discussed. But then again, so much had happened the last few weeks with the Silver Jedi and building their beginning that perhaps she'd just let that little detail fall to the wayside. She nodded, swinging herself out from under her blankets and moving to find fresh robes. "I was having such a nice dream too Rasu. Beaches, a nice drink..." She grinned, unable to help herself from a little sass.

A small smile crept up upon the Shi'ido's lips as she watched the Togruta fumble around after her struggle to rise from the bed. Honestly, it brought some form of glee to the aged Master, who had found such sass lacking in many of the more respectful and intimidated Padawans and initiates. It was one of the reasons why Rasu got on so well with this one Togruta.

"Wah Wah Wah!" she said, raising her voice in a mocking tone, "It's such a hard life my dear." Grinning, Rasu passed the woman's utility belt, her saber clanging against the other devices as it was thrown through the air. The chinking of metal caused Rasu to freeze. The Jedi Master had completely forgotten that the pair were disturbing others that would be sleeping, as expected at this hour of the night. Rasu blushed slightly, walking much more cautiously towards the door, delicately opening the panel so to not cause to much noise. "Come on Asaak, let's get going before we wake up the entire temple."

There had been a time Asaak had been a more quiet student. It had been important to her, after so many years in the dark beneath Coruscant's main levels, to do well and succeed in an Order that brought her so much joy. It was a journey that had both its ups and downs, ecstasy and terror. Along the way she'd learned those emotions were okay to feel...as long as she worked with them, did not let them cloud her decisions. Despite the things she'd seen and done she was proud of her ability to remain positive.

She let out a peal of laughter when Rasu made a mocking crying noise, clapping a hand over her mouth as she seemed to realize at about the same time as her Master that they were being far too loud. Clipping her utility belt to her around her waist she simply nodded though she couldn't help the little smile on her face, padding out barefoot after her Master, a habit she'd gleaned from Master Ru.

She waited until they were a good distance from any rooms their fellow Jedi might be sleeping in before speaking again: "So, what late night adventures do you have planned Master Gan?" Despite their familiarity, and the impending Knighthood she was working hard to attain, Asaak still had a hard time believing Rasu would ever be anything else but her beloved Master and still sometimes found the honorific slipping when she spoke with her friend.

Slipping out into the silent corridor, Rasu focused more on making sure her footsteps let off as little noise as possible, rather than watching where she was going. As a result, she wasn't even prepared for the shock of walking headfirst into a stone pillar, jutting in the middle of the hall. Rubbing her head, she turned toward Asaak as she spoke, asking her question, as her voice bounced gently off the walls of the temple.

"Well I've been dying to try out the newest extension to the temple. The rooftop training arena is supposed to be so pretty at night with the stars shining through the transparisteel paneling." she replied in a hushed tone. It was true that Rasu was more than eager to test out the brand new facility, but she also had another motive in mind while the pair trained. "Or so I've heard anyway."

Entering in the access codes to the arena, Rasu walked through the entryway as the access panel slid upwards. Brilliant light filled the massive room, as the orbiting moons hovered up in the distance, casting their own illumination on the pristine chamber. Rasu let out an impressed whistle, as she walked over to a rather large carved statue of some unknown Jedi. "Ain't this fancy?"

Truly, what the Silver Jedi had accomplished since their inception was astonishing. Asaak had never had any doubts about following her Master to a new Order, but she'd worried she'd miss Coruscant. The planet had been more of a home to her than Shili ever had and she'd feared missing its purple & orange evening skies or the way it never seemed to rest.

She shouldn't have worried, and the view from the top of the Temple's newest extension was proof of that. The home that the Silver Jedi had managed to erect for themselves was beautiful and peaceful - and when did Asaak get a view of the stars like this back on Coruscant? Too much light there, too many buildings marring the skyline. Here, in the fresh air in a planet free of copious light pollution, Asaak could see right up to the Galaxy above them. It was a sight that always struck her dumb, no matter how often or far she traveled out in to it.

Asaak followed Rasu farther in to the chamber lit mostly by moonlight, nodding her head and pulling a lekku over her shoulder out of habit. "I'll say! Really though...it's amazing to think of all we've accomplished as an Order."
