Private Absolutely Criminal

Mandalora/Sundari
Morning/Partly Cloudy

Sitting in the mess hall of the base in Sundari, Shai was in a bit of a pickle. On her datapad was a notification telling her she won a 50% discount for her and someone else in an area on Randon... a rather big competition which she was really happy about. But now she had to find someone to bring along, otherwise there would be no point! And unfortunately, everybody she knew was busy. Aerith was nowhere to be found, Raya was doing Alor things, Talo was missing as well, Aloy was doing Nite Owl things, her mom was in bed with a stomach bug... literally nobody was available.

So there she sat, releasing a defeated whine as she stared at the screen. In all honesty, it was a perfect time for an existential crisis but she wasn't in the mood for that now. Finally after a few minutes of simply sitting there, she got her master plan worked out. She was going to go walk around the base, look for someone who didn't seem busy and then drag them along for a shopping trip like no other. A rather fantastic plan in her own opinion. But after glancing at the mess hall and everybody having breakfast, her plan seemed to take its first knock. Everybody was having breakfast with someone, having a wonderful morning... or they didn't look like they wanted to be bothered at all. She sighed and took a long sip of her morning caf to try and figure out the next step. It didn't take long for that to happen.

Her bright and toothy smile returned and she rose from her seat, giving her tank top a tug and adjusting the belt of her cargo pants before starting to look around for one of those lonely Mandos that looked like they were minding their own business. She found her target and her grin only grew. With mug in hand she wandered over to his seat and took a seat across from him. "Hey man, what's up. How you doing?" she started, taking a sip of her caf. "The name's Shai." she introduced herself, holding out her hand for him to shake.

This guy might be promising...

It was one of those days where Cleru needed some time to himself. Being a single dad and trying to learn a culture was already incredibly stressful. Thankfully there were folks willing to help him out, and in this case take the twins for the day so he could relax. Sure enough he was off on his own, sipping idly at some caf and reading through a holopad for the news. Nothing he actually cared about, but it was something he could do alone to keep his mind busy.

And alone was his plan, for the whole day. Another sip before he set both down and started to idly check over himself. Chiss mannerisms, making sure his jacket was straight, hair was in order, fingers clean. He paused mid inspection as a voice filled his ears and he saw another sit across from him. Right. He reached out to take Shai Maji Shai Maji 's hand and give a small shake. "Cleru. Anything I can help you with?"

The man shook her hand and she sat back with her sunny grin, staring at him. "Oh yeah, definitely." she started, finishing off her caf. "I got a bit of a problem and I need someone to help me out with it. Basically, I signed up for a competition and I actually won. So my reward is a fifty percent discount for a whole day on just about anything in one of the big boy shopping malls on Randon. I'm telling you, it's absolutely criminal! I've been wanting to go there for a while now and this is the perfect opportunity. There's just one issue." she explained, sitting forward as if she wanted to let him in on a secret.

"Basically it's for me and a plus one. Anyone I want to take with. Sadly, my mom is sick in bed and all my other friends are all busy with their own stuff so I can't take them with. And I only got until a specific time until it expires. So I need to go as quickly as I can before another fight breaks out or I get a job going again. So... how would you like to come with?" she finished, giving his hand a light nudge as she looked him over. "I won't lie, you look like you need a good shopping trip. You look absolutely trashed, dude." she admitted with a snicker. "Trust me, it'll be fun. And I actually got some spending money now that I can help out with if you don't got the credits." she offered as well, hoping it would sweeten the deal. In all honesty she didn't know a thing about him. She simply wanted someone to come with on this trip of a lifetime.

He listened in silence, having at some point just put the datapad away once it was clear Shai Maji Shai Maji had quite a bit to say. As expected of a Chiss he betrayed no sense of emotion, even as she brought up how he looked. Did he really looked trashed? Well, he shouldn't of been too surprised after everything that happened. He was still trying to wrap his head around the fact his kids were actually alive. But this? What she was offering? It sounded like a break.

And god knows he could use one.

"You know what, sure. I got a couple things I can look for there. Though, I'm fine on credits." He offered a smile, the realest he'd been able to in the past couple of years. "When do we go?"

The man smiled and agreed to come along, much to Shai's satisfaction. With a slap on the table she rose from her seat. "Immediately!" she proclaimed happily as she turned to leave. "My ship's in Bay four. I'll be waiting for you there." she explained as she headed for the exit. Outside she marched towards her ship with a broad grin and a glimmer in her eye. The guy looked a bit tightly wound but she didn't mind. She had a friend she could drag along.

Once he arrived she was by the exit and invited him in. "Just ignore the state of the ship. She's in desperate need of new parts and I can never keep her clean. But yeah, follow me." she explained as she led the way to the cockpit. "Refresher, rooms and mess room is up this ladder." she commented as she passed the ladder that led to the top part of the ship. Reaching her cockpit, she slipped into the pilot's seat and gestured to the co-pilot's seat for him to grab a seat. She flipped switches, pulled levers, punched her dashboard and finally started the ship, lifting it off the ground. A few moments later they were out of orbit and jumping to hyperspace. "It's gonna take an hour or so, so we can make ourselves comfortable. Come on." she spoke as she climbed the ladder and grabbed a soda from the fridge for herself. "I got beer, soda, caf, whatever you'd like. Feel free to take whatever you're in the mood for." she explained as she sat on the counter and opened the can. With a sip she studied him up and down.

"So tell me about yourself. What clan are you from?" she asked casually to start some small talk between them.

Cleru raised a brow, but didn't argue. Leaving now? Well, why not he supposed. He wasn't as quick as Shai Maji Shai Maji to leave, mostly to finish the breakfast he'd set out for himself, but he wouldn't let her wait too long. The brow raised once more as she mentioned her ship's state of disrepair, and almost immediately he went into an old Chiss habit of maintaining and cleaning. She wasn't Chiss though. As he followed her in he did his best not to just start cleaning up and listen to what she was saying, but by the time she sat on the counter he was already going through to pick up whatever was out of order.

At least he could still hold a conversation as he did. His red eyes glanced to her for a moment before going back to the mess he was currently picking up. "It would of been Cadera, but after everything that happened, the clan scattered. I took my children to Krayt, and we've become part of them. What of you?"
