Q: What kinds of threads can I find here?
A: You can join and make any thread you like that gets into the academy experience. Classes on special topics, cadet missions, social threads -- do as you will.
Q: How will I know if I'm passing courses? Graduating? Certified by the LAA?
A: Totally up to you. This is about story; it's not a sim. We tried the LAA as a sim, with graduation requirements and so forth, and it just wasn't as much fun as it could have been.
Q: Can I get extra credit for [insert space exploration thread here]?
A: Your character went off exploring on their own time? There's nothing wrong with saying that LAA gave you some class credit for your 'real-world' achievements.
Q: Can I teach here?
A: By all means. Just let me know, and then start a classroom or class session thread, or just write with people.
Q: I belong to [morally dubious faction]. Can I teach/study at the LAA?
A: The LAA operates in SSC territory. As a general rule of thumb, no Sith/Imperial types as instructors, please. There's some leeway with students -- one of our best hailed from the Primeval. Just be wise.
