Built for Speed: The Accuser class Corvettes are built for speed to ensure that they're capable of covering large distances in short periods of time. This is also to ensure that if they come into contact with enemy vessels they are more than capable of fleeing and returning to their home fleet to report in. During fleet engagement, these vessels are held back or deployed to the far wings to screen enemy fighter formations or keep track of enemy movement and report to the command vessels to better coordinate the battle.
Tin Cans: In order to achieve their greater speed and maneuverability other areas of the vessel's capabilities had to be scaled back or otherwise overlooked. Many of its defenses were scaled back to ensure that it wasn't too heavily weighed down; with thinner armor plating being favored over thicker armor that potentially could have had a detrimental affect on the vessel's speed. Due to this they are not capable of withstanding prolonged combat - barely capable of handling themselves against small numbers of starfighters - they wouldn't last much longer against heavily armed and armored Corvettes let alone a Cruiser or Frigate.
It doesn't matter what Era you may exist in, when it comes to War, Information is just as powerful as a Heavy Turbolaser in the damage it can inflict upon the enemy. To this end The Hellknights developed an agile Corvette capable of providing them with the information they need. The Accuser class Corvette is a small vessel that is specialized for speed and maneuverability, often relying on its capability to flee back to its home fleet than stand in a shot for shot firefight with other vessels.
The Hellknights utilize these vessels as long range scouts and often assign them to individuals enacting Intel Collection missions or Espionage missions behind enemy lines. Of course this specialization and focus of speed has caused the vessel to lack in other areas - predominately in terms of Defenses and Armaments. It has only a minimal compliment of Laser Cannons - just enough to stand against no more than a handful of starfighters; and just enough defenses to protect it from the more minor hazards of space (such as microstrikes).
Another usage of these vessels comes in the most unlikely of places, that being the battlefield. During large fleet engagements the Accuser class Corvette is often assigned an escort vessel - or groups of these Corvettes work together - to pick off straggling Starfighters or they often relay the enemy Fleet movements back to the Command vessels in the thick of the fighting.
