• Biological Environmental Adaptation - The Acilisk class Starfighter is capable of surviving in the vacuum of space - providing biological entities with a lifesupport system traveling within the cruiser - as well as being capable of surviving in most Type I and Type II atmosphere.

• Brood Telepathic Field - An individual with a particularly powerful mind would otherwise be capable of tapping into this field and potentially hijacking command of the vessel provided they are capable of handling the multitude of minds among the Brood that are also linked together.

• Weakened Chitin - Unlike the more heavily armored Overlord class Cruiser - the Acilisk class Starfighter does not have as thick chitin, trading it off for more speed and manuverability. This makes them rather weak and easily destroyed - generally taking a handful of blasts from a laser cannon or one to two missiles/torpedo strikes.

A living biological entity - the Acilisk class Starfighter - is a starfighter style biological vessel used as an air superiority and ground support vessel. It is capable of surviving in the vacuum of space - as well as in many Type I and Type II atmospheres without much hindrance to its capabilities. Likewise - as with many of the vessels utilized by the Blood Brood - it is a living entity and thus does not require a "crew" to pilot.

Due to its size - it is too small for it to have an organ like the Overlord class Cruiser that would otherwise permit it to travel through hyperspace - thus having to rely upon the Overlord class Cruiser for transportation from system to system. Additionally - it lacks in the more heavily armored carapace that the Overlord class Cruiser - as it traded off for greater maneuverability and speed. Its primary weaponry is an acidic bile that it spits in thick globs at its enemies - the acid often rapidly eating away at metallic objects or corroding exposed systems to disable vessels.

Likewise - in order to maintain contact with the Blood Queen as well as the Overlord class Cruiser - the Acilisk class starfighter taps into the similar telepathic field that is shared by the brood. It also adheres to the simple design of the field - that being that the field can only be used to rely simplistic orders.
