The ACS-207 Cyro-Ban Gun, much like its cousin, the Acidthrower, was designed to create an alternate type of flamethrower, this one using a supercooled liquid sprayed at enemies. The freezing effects can freeze blood in veins on contact, cause near instant frost bite, and require the effected pieces of a body to be amputated. That is not the only use for this weapon however. When used against armor or machinery it can have an equally devastating effect. Harder, more durable armors take longer exposure to the nitrogen as cools the material leaving it more vulnerable than it would normally be, being especially vulnerable to blaster or heat based weaponry as the rapid heating of supercooled materials can often cause them to shatter or fracture. Electronics that are effected are often irreparably damaged, but not always.
The ammunition capacity is less than that of comparable flamethrowers, and it is known to have a slightly reduced range to its progenitor. The rifle variant’s cone of effect is one meter wide at its apex and the other variants widest point is about half a meter. The cold often causes a mist, almost like a fog which can obscure vision in close proximity.
