ACS-601 Mk2 High Explosive Slugthrower Ammunition
Image: Here
Intent: Provide Special Ammunition for Slugthrowers
Development Thread: As Needed
Manufacturer: ArmaTech Combat Systems
Model: Mk2
Affiliation: Open Market
Modularity: May be created for any Caliber Slugthrower
Production: Minor
Material: Durasteel, Baradium, Magnesium, Bronzium
Description:
The High Explosive Round consists of numerous parts, including a bronzium jacket, a magnesium incendiary mix, a baradium high explosive charge, zirconium powder, a Duranium carbide penetrator, and a durasteel cup. The round detonates the baradium charge, sometimes capable of disintegrating holes into its target, though tougher materials have been known to suffer only minor pocks in their surfaces. It is powerful for a small round, though it sacrifices significant range and accuracy to for destructive potential, having only a twenty meter effective range, and being inaccurate to the degree that expert marksmen are rarely capable of hitting a 15cm target ten times consecutively at that range. It is designed to combat light armored vehicles or big slow moving heavy infantry, so smaller targets are more difficult to hit. Being so volatile means that it could be dangerous carrying large quantities of the round, significant heat detonating them within the weapon they are carried.
